Yvette didn't understand why he was asking this, but seeing how readily he sent the money, she figured he was just sympathetic and nothing more.

So, she continued chatting with him. "To be honest, I feel quite free and happy after the divorce. Oddly enough, I don't feel that much pressure," Yvette replied.

As Xavier stared at Yvette's message on the screen, he stopped typing. He couldn't come to terms with what she said. "But why? Is it because you didn't love him?" he asked.

Yvette wasn't sure how to respond. Thinking that he was a stranger she hadn't met, she decided not to hide anything.

"The person who chooses to leave in a marriage usually has thought it over carefully. It doesn't just happen over one reason," she replied.

Glumly, Xavier typed out a few paragraphs, only to delete them.

"If there's nothing else, I'm logging off. Bye," Yvette messaged.
