Chapter Two

Emma's Pov 

I woke up feeling like I slept on a rock, with a severe headache I  have never felt before. I wished last night was all I dream,  but it wasn’t. Thankfully I was able to refrain myself from having sexual intercourse with the man I danced with last night. Even though he was hot, Zach ruined me for all men. 

My eyes adjusted to the brightness of the room and I looked around Lola's scattered room which had our clothes from last night hanging in every corner. Lola was sleeping at the very end of her bed, she's been kind enough to let me stay with her till I could raise up money to pay for my own apartment. I picked up my phone and found several missed calls and a voicemail.

"Emma if you're not in the office with the slizers file in 30minutes you're fired" My boss Harry's voice echoed in my ear. Stupid  me, I was too focused on Zach that I forgot I have a job.

I rushed out of the apartment after freshening up and putting on clothes which belonged to Lola. I decided to take a cab since taking a bus would be too much of a waste of time. I got to the company and headed straight to my Harry's office.

"Harry am so sorry, I had a th...." Harry cut me off before I could finish. 

"I know about Zach, Emmie, I am so sorry it happened " He told me in a calm voice and I suspected there's something more to that.

"Here's the slizers file and I hope I can get back to work, my personal issues wouldn't be a problem"  I stated, ignoring the weird feeling I had that something was going on with Harry. 

Harry took the files from me and his sorry face was instantly replaced by sadness “I am sorry Emmie but the company has decided to let you go"

I laughed and hit Harry playfully on his shoulder  "no time to joke Harry, James wouldn't fire me" I stopped realizing the look on his face was dead serious.

"James is firing me?" I asked him surprised. 

"I invested a lot into this company Harry, we started this company together and what about my shares?"

"A new investor promised to buy it for a much more bigger price" Harry told me with a straight face. It shook me knowing this has been well planed out. 

"How long have you and James been meeting behind my back?" I asked him with a look of disgust on my face. 

Harry shook his head "It is for the best Em" He ran his hand through his rough hair, 

"Don’t call me that, you lost that right when you decided to treat me like am a piece of trash, how could you Harry"

" I am sorry" he said sincerely 

" I am not Harrison, I am not” I grabbed a bottle of water which was on his table and poured it on him, getting him wet in the process. I hurried out of his office before I could act anymore crazy but not before seeing the surprise look on his face. Serves you right asshole. 

I didn't take much time in clearing my desk since my belongings were packed already and my office was under renovation to meet the taste of the new person that is to replace me. I would meet the shareholder and give him my piece of mind.

Tobi's Pov

 A small smile played on the edge of my lips knowing for the first time have successfully come up with something devious without Anna's help.  

I should have known better the type of person she is when she single handedly deceived most of my business men into making deals which was of no favour to them.

"Tobi? Is that you" My house keeper scared voice rang through the empty house. It has become empty sine Anna left. 

"Woah easy tiger" I held up my hand in defense, upon sighting her with a spatula ready to attack. 

I wouldn't blame her, after the whole club senerio and hotel quickie, I didn't announce my presence after I came home. 

She dropped her hand to her side shaking her head so lightly “You scared me Tobi" she moved closer to hugged me but refrained immediately like I was going to bite "For heaven's sake Tobi, since when have you become so irresponsible"

"I went to club like a normal bachelor would" I sipped from my coffee, taking my time to get used to how quiet the house the house is. 

"Since when have you become a normal bachelor? Look at you, you're a mess"

"I'll be fine" I shot back at her immediately regretting my tone. 

"Anna has always brought out the best in you, less than 24 hrs without her you're already acting like a st...."

"I'm the same person that I was with Anna and please don't give me lectures like mom, have had enough to last me a lifetime" I told her ready to walk out, leave it to Laura to make a scene when there's no need to be concerned.

"I might have spoken to her about Anna" she said in a low voice. 

"You wouldn't dare" I turned to her angrily, she knows how my mom is. Mom can decide to stay with me till she feels am no longer heartbroken, which am not, well I might be but admitting to it just makes it worst. 

"I kinda did" She dashed to her room hastily leaving me with the realization that mom might just show up which wouldn't turn out to be a very good idea. 

After a long shower and several nonstop missed calls from mom, I decided to ignore her calls. I got dressed and went to my parking lot after leaving a note for Laura to take the rest of the week off.  

Jim was waiting patiently beside my car, since he was my acting secretary he had insisted to drive me to and fro. 

"Finally, look who got laid last night" Jim started with his usual high pitch followed by a not so little laugh. We both got in the car and Jim drove off. 

"This is work time and if it's not done appropriately I wouldn't refrain from firing you" I warned attempting to stop him from budging me.

He immediately wore a business look "Excuse my manners young sir Tobi, would you like to stop for a cup of coffee?" he asked in an ascent I didn't know he had. 

Without waiting for my reply he spoke again “You have a meeting with James Olsen of Everything Glow,  beginning in 20minutes time and a lunch date with Miss White by 1pm"

"Remind me again why I need to meet personally with Miss white" I asked Jim looking out of my car.

"You need her money" Jim shot back in a duh tone like 'you should have known'. 

My car got pack at the parking lot of everything Glow, and we both came down. Jim walked ahead of me obviously angry.  

I quickened my footstep to meet up with him but my body collided with a soft delicate skin "You’ve  got a problem?" I asked angrily as I raised up my head to put the person in her place 

"The very same your dick has" She shot back, her eyes were red like she was ready to murder someone. 

It took me less than a minute to realize she was the blonde whore from the club last night, before I could come up with a reply she left already.
