Rude receptionist

“Who is your mate?” David finally asked, and he felt Alice stiffen in his arms immediately before she sighed and turned to look at him.

“David, let's go now, there's nothing I can do if I have another fit and neither the doctor can”, Alice said helping herself to stand.

David knew Alice wasn't ready to talk, and he chose to give her time even when it was killing him.

“Alright, let's go”, David finally sighed and helped Alice walk because he didn't trust her to walk on her own yet.

Alice felt bad, but she just didn't feel like talking about her supposed mate. She also felt glad that David didn't pursue the matter further. She knew when the time came, she'd come out to him.

David thanked the kind doctor as he helped Veronica out of the hospital. All the while, the nurses in the hospital staring at Alice like she was a dipshit.
