I rolled my eyes, watching the slow rise and fall of his breathing.

It would be better if Lennox continued sleeping. He looked innocent and kind with that expression, with his hand covering his eyes while the other one was under his head.

Careful not to wake him, I tiptoed and sauntered toward his bed.

Hovering over him, I continued staring at him. He looked sexy. Handsome by just sleeping. Was that also the reason why his woman loved him? Did they have the best relationships?

There will always be a lot of unanswered questions, and I did not want to bring them to Lennox. Asking about his personal life was not part of the deal, even if I wanted to know more about him.

Yes.

Perhaps that was because of the bond we shared, which was not even severed after the rejection. Was I still waiting for him to accept me for who I was? Maybe not.

All I wanted was to get rid of all the feelings I had for him.

Alpha Lennox stirred in his sleep.

Instantly, I backed away, afraid that I would be the reason for awakening him. My heart pounded wildly against my ribcage as he slipped his hand into his chest and scratched it while moaning. After a couple of minutes, he turned sideways, giving me complete access to his face.

I held my hand in the air, and before I could brush his cheeks, I was reminded of not pushing it. I never had the right, and touching him would only bring my longing and love for him. Must put my hands where they belong.

The goal was to seek Alpha Lennox’s protection while I would think of ways to eradicate Salvacion completely. The other was to unlove him.

Alpha Lennox moaned in his sleep.

My brows furrowed.

I just hoped he was not dreaming something naughty, or I would throw him off the bed.

“Zoe. Father...” he mumbled.

I froze.

It was understandable that he was dreaming about his Father’s condition but of a woman? Perhaps he did love that woman.

I clutched my chest, repressing the intense jealousy I felt right now.

You don’t have the right, I told myself.

As if taunting me, Alpha Lennox added, “Zoe...”

I was sure he was really sleeping. This was not to tease me or make me jealous. This was the actual situation of his heart.

I balled my fist. Why did he have to break up with her if he was hurting this much?

Forcing myself to look away, I shifted my gaze to the floor. Too good that he already prepared a blanket, pillows, and mat.

In the end, I would be taking the floor. Giving one last look to Alpha Lennox, I moved away from him.

Grumbling, I started preparing them and lay on the floor.

—------------

I was awakened by someone shrieking. Then a shout. They were followed by intense curses and slapping.

I groaned and put a pillow on my ears.

Ugh. Let me sleep. I only slept a few hours. It took me a few hours before I finally dozed off.

The voices were muffled, but it wasn't very pleasant in my ears.

Left with no choice, I opened one of my eyes and stopped when I saw the cause—a woman. A beautiful and gorgeous woman with long hair was standing at the door, with the alpha preventing her from advancing toward my location.

Rubbing my eyes, I focused on the two. It took me another minute before it finally dawned on me what the commotion was.

“Babe. Let’s talk outside, shall we? Shouting will not help,” Alpha Lennox said.

Who was the woman beside him? Was this his girlfriend?

My gaze shifted back and forth between them.

“Babe!” Alpha Lennox called again when the woman did not listen to him. He pulled her in her arms, but the woman did not want to go with him. Instead, she was throwing poisonous daggers in my direction.

Was this woman Alpha Lennox’s ex-girlfriend?

“Hey?” I greeted. “Is there something I can do?”

“You wench! You snake!” she cried, on the verge of attacking me. “How dare you wear his shirt! I bought that for him!”

“I’m sorry, okay? I don’t bring my clothes with me. If you want, I can take this off.”

Alpha Lennox glanced at me, shaking his head. He wanted me to shut up.

The woman, trembling, looked at Alpha Lennox. "Is she the one?"

"Yeah. I am his—"

"She is no one, Zoe."

Zoe? Familiar name. Right. It was the name Lennox uttered last night.

"Is this the reason why you broke up with me? You cannot wait, do you? You did not even wait until I grabbed all my things at my apartment. How could you do this to me, Lennox? Why can't you give me the fucking three-month rule? Have at least some kind of respect for me, you bastard!"

The woman, despite being a she-wolf already adopted the human's way of breaking up.

Lennox threw his gaze at me, his eyes conflicted while his mind was looking for words that would explain the situation to his ex-girlfriend. Or girlfriend.

Silently, I bent and folded my mat and everything I used last night aside and made sure I was utterly decent facing the woman, or it would anger her more.

“Babe. This is not what it looks like.”

Ex-girlfriend, yet he was calling the woman babe. He loved her still.

Lennox loved the woman—something he could never give to me.

I sat on the edge of the bed, waiting for the two of them to finish their quarrels. Listening to them was tiring.

“What does it look like, Lennox?”

"Zoe. If you only informed me that you will be coming here, I would be—"

"You will only lie to my face."

Zoe wiped away her tears. Alpha Lennox groaned, not wanting to see her pain.

Alpha Lennox tried to touch the woman, but she smacked his hands away. He heaved a sigh and waited for the woman to calm down.

“How could you? I thought something was wrong with you when you suddenly broke up with me yesterday. And it was on the freaking phone! Why can’t you do it personally, huh? Why?” The woman pushed him, and he just let her. "You don't love me anymore? Fine. But your respect should remain."

I looked at the ceiling.

Why did I wait for them again?

If they were in the Stonewind Pack, Alpha Lennox would never let this woman treat him like this. But since no one was watching except me, and my opinion did not matter in this case, that was why it was going like this.

If I were him, I would never tolerate this woman to treat me like this—girlfriend or not. Especially if someone was looking, but then again, I was nothing but a fly in Lennox's eyes. Insignificant. Disgusting. Irritating.

“I told you my reason already.”

“Fuck you. I don’t believe you suddenly fell out of love with me! It’s because of that woman!”

I pointed to myself. “Me? Could you please leave me out? I am savoring my  silence here.”

With fast strides, Lennox’s ex-girlfriend sauntered towards me, her face red. “Is this the woman?”

“Babe.”

“No! Don’t babe me!”

“Zoe. She is not the one. There is nothing wrong with you. It is my fault.”

“Stop lying to me!” she screamed at the top of her lungs then waterworks followed.

I groaned silently. Never been a fan of seeing a woman cry. Also, the first time to me was the reason.

"Zoe,"  Alpha Lennox said, his voice lowering.

The woman's shoulders trembled, and she sobbed.

Alpha Lennox drew her closer to his body and wrapped his arms around her waist.

My chest tightened as I watched them. It felt like I was an outsider looking at them while the man had forgotten entirely about me.

Making my presence forgotten, I slipped my way outside, the pain of them breaking my heart into a million pieces.

—-----------------

I did not know how long Zoe and Lennox had talked. While waiting for them, I cooked a few dishes to satisfy my hungry stomach.

I was silently eating rice and fried chicken when the two came to my location—in the living room. Tilting my head, I saw they were hand in hand, with Alpha Lennox wearing his saddest expression of all.

Did they make  up or not?

Silently, I offered them my food.

They did not answer. Shrugging, I continued eating. There was no way I would let myself get affected by them.

“Zoe. She is Keira,” Alpha Lennox started.

"Yeah. I heard you calling her that name."

“The bitch you replaced me,” Zoe snickered.

I stopped eating and glanced over my shoulder. “I understand that you are jealous, but I assure you. There is nothing to be jealous about. If you see where I slept earlier,  I was on the floor while he was on the bed. So, I don't understand why you are furious,” I muttered.

I put down my plates on the table, losing my appetite. The food was delicious, but Zoe's comment was enough to ruin everything.

“You secretly seduce Lennox behind my back! What kind of fucking nonsense did you tell him to break up with me, huh? Tell me, Lennox. Was she good in bed? Did she lick your dick better than mine?”

My mouth slackened.

What the fuck? “Excuse me? Did you just say I had sex with him?”

“What else? You used your body to make him decide to break up with me!”

And she was back to screaming again.

My gaze shifted to Alpha Lennox. Why was he silent? Why could he not defend me? Was it because I was his slave?

I let out a heavy sigh.

Alpha Lennox will forever be a jerk.

“Do you have any evidence of those allegations?” Sucking his cock of all things? Disgusting.

Zoe’s eyes narrowed. “Your scent is all over him. It’s enough to say something happened between you! If…if I did not come here, I would never know you are the bitch who enticed him.”

Zoe was about to pounce on me, but Alpha Lennox finally stepped in. Not that I wanted to. I can fight against his woman, but I will never promise I will not hurt her in exchange.

Living in the human world allowed me to deal with almost all types of male and learned how to fight on my own for survival.

“Do you also know what kind of woman you are to me? All through this morning, all you did was scream at me. Charge me with things I did not do.”

“I don’t need your opinion,” Zoe answered, gritting her teeth. “You’re cheap. Your poor taste reeked.  I want to know what kind of woman Lennox chose this time and to see you looking cheap? You disappoint me, Lennox.”

“Zoe. How many times will I say that Keira and I don’t have any relationship? Something happened yesterday.”

“So you bring her into your house? And the two of you fucked each other until—”

“Yes. I am Lennox’s new woman. Now, happy?" I said, cutting off Zoe's words.

Lennox still wanted Zoe back. Something I was expecting before. I totally got it. He perfectly showed me how much the woman mattered to him. He was vocal about it. The problem was me. I could not help myself but get affected by it.“Why don’t you just tell your Father you are in love with someone else?” I suggested. Even if breathing was painful. Damn. How long will I continue to love this jerk despite him being clear on who he loved? “Tell Father about Zoe so that he will die of a heart attack? No. He will know about Zoe if it is the right time.”“When will you know if it is already the right time?”He shrugged his broad shoulders. “Gut feeling, perhaps.”“Good for you,” I said. “Congratulations in advance. I will be happy for you. The only problem is how you will tell your Father about it. I had to return my focus to Ace. My eyes went back to the fight when the crowd cheered. The fight had already begun and I didn't even notice it. It was only a few minutes of talking to Lennox but Ace was already losing. He was bloody and beaten to a pulp by his brother Kent. “You said you trained him!” I cried out.“I did, Miss Keira. But Kent is stronger than his brother. He had already trained since he was a child. Among the sons, Alpha Bryan had high regard for him,” he growled. I did not know what I should be feeling right now.I wanted to stop the match while Ace was not yet in the arena. But how? That man had already made up his mind. We were in the oval-shaped arena and the crowd was already thick. It was a ten-minute break before the next match. Was Ace okay there? The guards did not allow us to see him for the last time. Solomon was on high alert as if he would fight hand in hand with Ace. "Son!"Solomon was now beside me. "Are you two starting to fight against me?"The tension escalated, swallowing me whole. The air was so thick that breathing was hard. Peeping in front of me, I can verify that Ace was a photocopy of his father. Their eyes. Mouth. Nose. And everything looked alike. They could pass as twins if not for the fine lines on the alpha’s forehead and around his eyes. Aside from that, they looked like they were sewn in the same cloth. “You!" he started, pointing his hands at me. "How did that woman enter my territory?” the alpha growled, snarling. The two guards behind him shifted their weight from foot to foot. The blood on their faces drained while their knees trembled in fear. All of us will die here if nothing is done. "Solomon!""Yes

The people became imaginative as I grew up. That was the name they called us. Without the alpha's knowing. My stomach knotted. My legs trembled, but I tried to act calm, especially with the guards beside me. They would laugh at me, thinking how could a powerful alpha like Alpha Bryan have a cowardly son.
