Chapter 4

I clench my fist to hold back the tears welling up in my eyes. I may be tough, strong, and cold but I am never immune to tears especially when my family is involved.

Sir Rutherford my dad’s best friend killed my father right in my very own eyes.

"Thank you boss for keeping me updated. Can't wait to exert my plans" I said with blank expression.

"Anything for my diva." He gave me a million-dollar smile but I wasn't shaken, my face was as hard as a rock.

"Alright I'll be leaving now" Blaze stood up and left

"Wait don't tell me you pushing through with this?" I sat down and Queen sat beside her.

"I'm just going there to win her trust nothing much," I said casually.

"So what did you wanted to tell me?" I asked.

"Uh, It's about jake" jake is the best friend of Lucia. (Lucia  is Queen’s boyfriend)

"What about him?" I asked.

"He... he... um.. he just told me to pass this message to you that he loves you and he wants you to give him a chance." Queen looked away abruptly not wanting to see the possible reaction of my face.

I didn’t say anything to her as I just remained quiet.

I was silent as I gazes into space trying to register and process the trash I just heard.

Suddenly something skips into my head which made me  smile like a roasted goat.

"Really?" I  asked, quite usual to queen as she nodded her head slowly.

"Alright call him and tell him I've accepted."

"What?" Kayla choked on her saliva. "just like that?"

"Did you tell me so I'll refuse?"

"No, Just that I wasn't expecting that... anyway let me call him now. ."

At three stars hall.

(Lindsey Rutherford's engagement)

I am sitting comfortably on a chair, At the outskirt Of where the party is going on.

Beside me is a table. I placed a Bottle of MC Donald on top of it. Holding a glass of wine.

Staring at the confused guest, I smiled wickedly.

Sir  Rutherford's daughter has earlier been called upon on the stage   Since the party is been thrown in her honor.

After waiting for over one hour, it dawned on both the family and guest that Lindsey Rutherford is Nowhere to be found.

A message popped into My phone.

From Jake.

"DONE!" It's read

With that, I dropped the glass of drink on the table, adjust my black coat, wore a dark-colored cowboy hat covering some part of my face, I stood up and walk majestically through the crowd.

Having left the hall, I proceeded to the residential area of the Hotel.

"Please please, I am begging you don't do this to me. I will give whatever Amount of money you want just don't take away my virginity " cried a girl's voice as Scarlet approaches the door of one of the hotel rooms.

With that, Scarlett killed a step and smiled wickedly.

Then she barged into the room.

Jake was forcing himself on Lindsey on the bed who was trying to defend herself.

Scarlet attack Jake from behind and jerked him up, pinning him to the wall as she unleashes several blows on him.

Blood spilled out of his mouth and nostrils.

As jake tried to defend himself, Scarlett pushed him making him land on the wine glasses.

Lindsey was dumbfounded, standing a confused lady in the bed, Lindsey pleaded on the guy's behalf when the beating became severe.

"NOW GET LOST" yelled Scarlet as she pushed him out of the room.

"Are you okay?" Asked Scarlet compassionately stroking Lindsey’s hair.

"Yes——Yes" replied Lindey weakly.

"Alright! You have to leave now this place is not safe for you, everyone has been looking for you out there" I told her.

"Thank you for coming to my rescue. I owe you my life. Thank you so much." Lindsey said.

"Here..." I handed a slip to Lindsey

"That is my contact card call me when you need my help" I added beaming with a fake smile as Lindsey reciprocated with a genuine smile.

"I am sorry Lindsey Rutherford,  you are my number one weapon against your father" I declared in her heart as I felt blood rushed through Her veins.

I walked out of the hotel's room while Lindsey ran back to the hall.

While I walked out of the room, she was stopped by Jake.

"My Goodness scarlet breaking my jaw was never part of the plan," He said holding his jaw.

I rolled her eyes.

"So the job is done, does that mean you are my girlfriend now?" Jake said smiling like a fool.

I looked at him and then walked past him.

"Hey, hey, Ignoring me wasn't part of the deal right?" He asked getting upset.

Scarlet stopped, her back facing him.

"You told me to act as though I'll be raping that girl then you come and act as her hero. You didn't even tell me why we had to play a nameless game  yet I agree because you promise to be my girlfriend after that." He said calmly.

Scarlet Chuckled and turn to face him.

"you must be the biggest fool of the century to think that I Scarlette will ever date your kind." I spat pointing a finger at his face.

I tried to walk off but I was pulled back by Jake. “let go of me."

"Why? Do you think you can dupe me? who do you think you are?" He yelled shaking me vigorously.

"You have ten minutes" I couldn’t even hear my own voice, the anger I was feeling now made my voice so low but dangerous, all I could see now was red.

But Jake is too blind to get the message as he burst out laughing.

“you know I can have my way with you right? What if rape happens for real and this time it won't be acting you'll be the victim." His childish treats made me laugh against my will.

"And I'll play the hero,” I smirked. "Three minutes remaining.”

As if asking for a death wish and digging his own grave, He decided to attack my dress.

He gripped the hem of my top trying to rip it off.

I gripped his arm and twisted it, I Fety his bones breaking beneath my wrist, I push him so hard to the wall making him hit his head and it started bleeding. I approached him and gave him the beating of his life.

I left him with a swollen eye, swollen cheek, and a broken arm.

Dennis P.O.V.

Another case of murder has been reported. The police head quarters has been in chaos.

"I am fucking tired of this whole shit." Agent Mathew yelled and slammed the papers on the table.

"Mind your language." Cautioned the police head who was the only one sitting.

The Agents and detectives were all standing some exacting their frustration.

I haven’t spoken a word since ever since I arrived here. I just kept my gaze on the paper on the desk close to me. Inspecting the papers containing the victims killed by the unknown assassin rather than participating in an otiose argument.

"How are we sure that those hoodlums  live here?" Agent Mathew continued.

"but the crime is done here." I replied for the first time.

"Then why haven't we find them?.. You are the smartest Agent here we know, there's no situation that has ever been beyond you but why is this case getting out of hands?" Mathew yelled at my face highly infuriated.

"There's no point if we are just going to ask stupid questions." Another agent intervenes.

"First let's take this from the top." Head police declared. Taking out his ledger and pen.

"How much are you sure that this person works with a syndicate?" He asked.

"Cause we should have been able to catch the person of he doesn't have a backup," I replied.

"No, I think this person works alone cause if he has back up we would have been able to catch at least one of them who will implicate the others.”  Liam one of the officers contributed.

"He? So you are saying the assisan is a boy?" The I.G asked.

"In as much we don't know that yet, he must be a male cause only males can be that smart" Liam replied immediately.

"Seems like all his victims are criminals too..don't tell me he's helping the police do their job," I blurted our still inspecting the file, earning a glare from Liam.

"How are you even sure that it's the same person doing all these?" Head police asked and Liam was about to say something when I interrupted him.

"cause I find this on the body of the guy yesterday." I handed him a slip. "that's the same slip he puts on all his victims"

"Agent Khalid I'm entrusting this  to you,  you have to dig more into this case and get that criminal or assassin  dead or alive."

"Yes sir" I saluted.

Coming out of the hotel, Scarlette walked straight to the car parked outside the hotel’s building.

As I opened the car, I met queen  who had been waiting for me since.

“ so How did it go??” She Ask as I sat down beside her now.

“Perfect as planned” I replied, smiling.

“And Jake? Tell me you are finally dating?” queensley inquired smiling sheepishly.

I scoffed and rolled her eyes.

“You know I don't date”

“What??” queens veered at me.

“Where's Jake now?” she asked disappointed.

“Don't get us into an accident you know I don't have nine Life..” I caution as queens almost bomb into some of the blocks.

“Well, he's Tryna fix up his broken bones I guess..” I chuckled slightly.

Queen's sigh knowing what I did.

“So were you able to get on Lindsey's good side??” queens asked on a more serious note.

“Well we are just starting, I need to do more than just get on her good side. I must earn her trust.” I smirked.

“But all the same we did it!!!!!!!” I screamed in delight as we hit the highway.

“Yo baby That calls for a celebration!!!!” queens added as She turned on the music to its loudest volume.

They arrived at a prominent winery

Gradually the car came to a halt as we  jumped out of the car.

we headed towards the transparent glass door I wrapped my palm around the doorknob and as soon I stepped inside I crashed into someone.

“What the hell bitch are you blind?” the girl I bumped into yelled as she stood up from the ground.

I scoffed and nodded before walking past her.

“Hey bitch I'm not done..” she grabs my arm and drew me back. “Seems like you don't have a brain let me teach you some manners” and boom She slapped me.

Everyone is around the scene gasped including queens.

“Did she just slap me?” I asked no one in particular and instantly grabbed both of her hands.

I twisted her hands behind her, making her face the wall with the girl’s hand behind her, I pinned her to the wall while twisting her hands.

“So you were saying?” I asked the bitch who was now crying and begging.

“Please I'm sorry, it hurts.” I only relieved her through Queen's intervention.

“Scarlette’s that was an Epic show you did out there.” queens said as they walked together to get a seat, we both chuckled.

As we sat down a bartender attended to our orders.

“So why did you do that to Jake, he’s nice.” queens started as she sipped from her wine.

“wrong sentence..” I sips from my wine and sighed.

“After my experience so far, ‘boys’ and ‘nice’ don’t fit in the same sentence.”

“But not..”

“you want to tell me not all are bad?” I scoffed.

“Fuck that shit, they appear nice just to get in your pant, and then what?...” Scarlette yelled, Queens notice I was boiling  so she cut me off.

“So what’s your next plan about Rutherford’s daughter?” Topic changed.

I sighs and drank from my wine trying to calm my temper down.

Boys disgusts me to my bone, I can never imagine myself being  nice to any of them aside from my boss.

“Well, I plan to Enroll in Crownsland college with a fake identity, and then Befriend Lindsey I will use her to ruin her family.” I smirks, clenching my fist.  We both discussed random issues and enjoy the rest of the day.

Dennis PoV,

I had been pacing around my room, sighing and huffing.

My door opened and my girlfriend Sonia walked in.

“Hey, baby.” She grinned and walked towards him then kissed me on at my cheek.

“You look kind of stressed? What's up?” she asked? I sat down on the cushion.

“It's nothing I'm Good” I glimmered.

“Alright... Well, I am ready for our date today.” she smiled, picking on her neatly fixed nails.

“I’m sorry as you can see I'm not prepared for that.” I blurted out.

I knew I promise her we will be going on a date well she pressured me but now that should be my least concern now.

“Excuse me?”

“Look, I have got a new project.” I started calmly showing her some files. ”You remember the abandoned case of the assassin? he killed again seems like he won’t stop till he kills everyone” I know my explanations doesn’t have any effect on her but I give it a try at least.

“And how does that get to affect me?” She yelled agitated.

“I’m asked to find that assassin and put a stop to this terror.” I added.

“You know what. I’m the biggest fool of the century.”

“What...” I arched my brows.

“Oh yes knowing fully well that my so-called boyfriend is that dutiful citizen who will always choose to please others and displease his girlfriend yet I get too excited about his fake promises knowing fully well that he is gonna Ditch me for his stupid job that’s how you define a fool,” she shouted.

“Look I don’t have time for your fussing now, I need time to think things through.” I stated sternly.

She hissed and stormed out leaving the door open.

I huffed and took a drink for himself, grabbing the flyer of the unknown assassin.

“whoever you are I’m gonna find you, you think you are smart. Well, we will play the game to the finish line,” I smirked confidently.

Scarlet’s Pov,

It's Friday and as usual, The boss had called for a meeting so I dressed in black and walked to the underworld. (An exclusive room in the mansion where they all meet)?

I Greeted everyone.

“Where’s Fetty?” everyone in the racket was completed except fetty so the boss asked.

“Of course she won’t be bold to show up here after what she did,” Queens replied.

“So what's the updated boss?” I asked.

“Well Seems like you have a new mission”

“of course I do. I’m planning to go enroll into crownland from there my mission starts.”

“I’m not talking about your revenge on those people.” blaze declared.

“What?” I exclaimed, disappointment and shock on her face.

“But I thought we talked about this that no more missions for me after the last one, you said you were going to give me enough time to exact my revenge.”

“Well, I’m sorry things got out of hands.My Informat told me that, Agent Dennis  went to McCarthy estate hotel  and was asking details on how many people booked for room 009”

“that was the room number Damon lodge..” I said, remembering the number receptionist told me.

“exactly it’s obvious the police are on it again, so we should end this once and for all.”

“Alright after killing the fucker, hope there will be no other mission?”

“It’s not like that scarlet.” Bethel our informat interrupted. “killing him won’t stop anything, you will have to sneak into him and turn him away from his job..”

“was that a command?” scarlet accosted.

“Don’t start” Bethel sneered.

“then why don’t you do it?”

“Because taming and deceiving dennis isn’t an easy task, he’s well trained and he is best at what he does so we as well need our best to backfire and you are the best scarlet..” boss compliment and I felt the of hinge of jealousy which flushed through Bethel, judging from her soured face.

“Of course she is.” queens giggled glancing at Bethel with a corner eye.

“ So when am I starting this shit?”

“Very soon so be prepared..”
