Lisa quickly opened her eyes as he heard Grayson open the door that led to the backyard, her heart raced fast and almost popped out of her chest.

She sprang to her feet and tiptoed to the backyard to check what Grayson was doing there.

Her heart jumped in anxiety when she saw him bending down over the grave where she had buried Clara.

“What's he doing there?” Missy cried out.

“I have no idea,” Lisa replied, trembling in fear.

“We have to come up with an excuse or something. Grayson must never find out what we buried there else that will be the end for you and me,” Missy said.

“Alpha Grayson,” Lisa called out. She pretended to be half awake and half asleep as she walked slowly to Grayson.

“I thought you were fast asleep?” Grayson said, surprised to see Lisa awake.

“I was but then I heard a noise in the house and it woke me up, then I heard someone open the backyard door and I was scared, I thought my house had been burgled,” Lisa explained, faking a yawn.

“I came to check up on you,” G

“What? Are you saying that she is lying right now?” Diana asked.“I just asked for proof, you only told me she was pregnant. I never saw a test result or something?” Grayson said.“I don't have any test results, you can ask Lisa when she wakes up. Please excuse me, I have a patient to attend to,” Diana said.“I want you to collect the blood sample in Lisa's living room and test it to see if it's cat blood or not. I also want you to test the blood from the miscarriage if it's hers or not,” Grayson said.“Grayson! What do you need these things for?” Diana exclaimed.“Just do as I say,” Grayson said.“And if I do not, what will you do?” Diana asked.“It is not a request, Diana. I, Alpha Grayson of the Silvermoon pack, command you, Diana Woods, to do as I say. Failure to do this will be seen and treated as insubordination to your Alpha and the necessary punishment for that shall be meted out to you,” Grayson said authoritatively.“Did you just use the Alpha's command on me?” Diana exclaim

“When was the last time you saw her?” Beta Luke inquired from Samantha, Clara's friend and fellow servant the next day.“Yesterday at the square but she disappeared immediately after we were dismissed by the Alpha,” Samantha explained.“Does she have a mate?” Beta Luke inquired.“Yes, she does but she's not there. I saw Thomas this morning and asked him if Clara was with him but he said he hadn't seen her,” Samantha said.“Alright, thank you, Samantha,” Beta Luke said as he stood to take his leave. As he was about to leave the servant's quarters, one of the young servants ran to him.“Beta Luke,” She called out.“Yes,” Beta Luke answered.“I have some information about Clara, I don't know if it might help,” she revealed.“Yes, go on,” Beta Luke said.“I saw Clara heading towards the east side of the pack yesterday after we were dismissed. I wanted to ask her where she was going but I got distracted by something else,” she explained.“The east side of the pack?” Beta Luke reiterated.“

I would love to also ask you a question and I would like you to tell me the truth,” Beta Luke said, his gaze strongly fixed on Lisa.“Okay,” Evelyn said, rolling her eyes as she wondered what his question might be.“Do you like Grayson?” Beta Luke asked.“Huh! "That is why I said 'suspect,' Alpha Grayson. I haven't called her a criminal yet. Her ability to defend herself will prove whether she's innocent or not," Robert retorted sharply."Her innocence should not even be in question at this hearing. The trial should focus on whether she pushed Lisa or not. How did she become a suspect in a murder case that occurred while she was locked away in a cell?" Grayson said."Why are you speaking on her behalf, Alpha Grayson? Let her defend herself," James said.“I was not talking to you, James. I have the authority to speak on behalf of anyone I choose to. And as your Alpha, I command you to never speak out of turn during this hearing. You will only speak when you are asked to," Grayson declared authoritatively. The elders gasped in shock, their eyes widening and mouths slightly agape, exchanging uneasy glances. The air grew heavy with tension, their disbelief palpable as they processed the harsh reprimand directed at one of their own. Grayson moved silently, his eyes scanning the shadows for movement as he reached the edge of the camp. Evelyn followed close behind, her steps light but purposeful.Suddenly, the camp came alive with movement. Hunters emerged from all directions, their weapons gleaming in the moonlight as they formed a circle around Grayson and Evelyn.Jerry strode out from the crowd, his expression smug and triumphant. “Do you think you can waltz into my camp and take my prisoner? You must take me for a fool,” he sneered, his voice dripping with malice.Grayson’s stance shifted, his body coiled like a spring ready to pounce. “I knew this wouldn’t be easy. But I came prepared,” he said calmly, his eyes blazing with determination.Jerry’s laughter echoed through the camp. “Prepared? Do you think you can take all of us down? Alone?”“He’s not alone,” Evelyn said, stepping forward despite her battered state. She clenched her fists, her wounds already healing, her inner strength returning.Jerry’s smirk

Grayson slowly turned around, his heart pounding, preparing for the possibility of being discovered. His instincts told him to stay calm, and he steadied his breathing."Are... are you talking to me?" he asked, deliberately softening his tone to mimic a voice that wasn’t his own."Yes, you! Red vest!" Frank barked. "You belong to Group C. What the hell are you doing here with Group A?"Grayson glanced down at the red vest he had taken from one of the hunters earlier. His mind raced, but he masked his panic with a sheepish look. "Ah, sorry, sir! I must’ve gotten turned around. Long day out here, you know.""Save your excuses and get moving!" Frank snapped. "And don't let me catch you out of formation again!"Grayson nodded hastily. "Right away, sir." He turned and walked away quickly, making sure to put some distance between himself and Frank before slipping behind a tent to reassess the situation.Once the coast was clear, Grayson crept toward the area where Evelyn was being held. Grayson crouched low as he approached the hunters' camp, his body concealed by the dense underbrush. The flickering light of campfires illuminated the area ahead, casting shadows on the crude wooden barricades surrounding the camp. He flattened himself against the cold, damp ground and crawled forward, his sharp eyes scanning the layout of the camp.“The perimeter is heavily guarded—at least ten hunters are on patrol, each armed with rifles slung over their shoulders and silver knives at their belts,” Kyle reported after taking a glance around the camp.Grayson also looked around and saw the hunters on patrol. Their movements were methodical, and their sharp eyes roamed the darkness, looking for any sign of intruders."There are too many of them," Grayson said."But they're spread out," Kyle countered. "If we take them out one by one, we can do it quietly."Grayson began calculating. “I need to move fast and remain undetected. One wrong move could alert the entire camp,” he said.He

Diana rushed into Grayson's office, her face pale with panic.“What do you mean, Luke? Who came to him? And why would he leave by himself?” Diana demanded, her voice trembling.Luke sighed, running his fingers through his hair as he tried to gather his thoughts. "A hunter came to see him. He claimed he had information about Evelyn and insisted on speaking to Grayson alone. The next thing I know, Grayson is gone. I just spoke with the guards at the southern border—they confirmed he left the pack an hour ago.”Diana's eyes widened in horror. “Why did you let him go alone, Luke? The last time he faced those hunters, we almost lost him. What if they poison him again?” She clutched her chest, tears pooling in her eyes.“I didn’t ‘let’ him go, Diana. Grayson is stubborn, and you know it. He gave no warning and left without involving anyone else. I’ve already sent a patrol after him,” Luke replied, his voice heavy with guilt.Diana shook her head furiously. “No, Luke. That’s not enough. I’m

"Your mate is in our camp, and my boss has asked me to tell you that if you want to see her alive, you should follow me, and I'll lead you to where we are—but you have to come alone,” the hunter said.Grayson laughed darkly, the sound filling the room as he suddenly grabbed the hunter by the shirt, shoving him against the wall with force.“Your boss must think I’m stupid, trying to lure me away from my pack so he can attack them. He should try a different approach,” Grayson growled, his voice dripping with menace. The hunter smirked, undeterred. “He knew you wouldn’t believe me. That’s why he asked me to show you this.” He reached into his pocket and pulled out his cell phone, showing Grayson a video of Evelyn. In it, she was tied to a tree, her face pale and bruised as she writhed in pain while being tortured. The sight triggered Kyle, Grayson’s wolf. He burst out in rage, taking control, and lunged at the hunter, snatching the phone from his hand and crushing it to pieces.Kyle’s cl

“What could he be talking about, Evelyn? Viola said, stirring weakly in her mind.“You’re bluffing,” Evelyn rasped, though her voice quivered slightly.Jerry chuckled darkly, his grip tightening for a moment before he let her go.“Am I? Grayson is currently searching for you in the woods. He’s sent his guards to find you. And I wonder why,” Jerry sneered. “Has he forgiven you? Or perhaps he wants to punish you for the crimes you’ve been accused of?”Evelyn’s heart sank at his words, but she quickly masked her panic with a defiant glare. She refused to let Jerry see her fear.“Whatever reason he’s looking for me is none of your business,” Evelyn snapped, her voice firm despite the knots tightening in her chest.“Oh, but it is,” Jerry chuckled darkly. “Because I’m going to give him exactly what he wants.”Evelyn raised her brows in suspicion, her eyes narrowing. “You’re going to send me to him?” she asked cautiously, searching his expression.“No, silly.” Jerry leaned closer, grinning w

Evelyn was dragged back to the hunter's camp, her wrists bound tightly as Jerry tied her to a tree.“I think I’ve been too lenient with you, and that’s why you dared to escape. Did you think you could run away from me?” Jerry growled, his voice laced with malice. Without warning, he smacked Evelyn across the face.Evelyn cried out in pain, her cheek stinging sharply. She could feel the sting of a small cut forming on her lip.“You bastard,” she spat, her defiance unwavering as her bloodied lips curled into a sneer.Jerry wiped the spit off his face, his expression darkening. “Feisty little thing, aren’t you? Don’t worry, I’ll deal with you soon enough. I won’t kill you—not yet—but that doesn’t mean I can’t make you wish for death,” he said, his laughter cruel and mocking.“You can never break me, coward,” Evelyn shot back, her voice strong despite her injuries. “Untie my hands and face me one-on-one, or are you too scared to fight me?”Jerry smirked, amused by her boldness. “I know w

“What do you mean you can't find her? You went after her only minutes after we noticed her escape! How are you all so incompetent?” Jerry snarled, his voice thick with fury. “Do I have to go into the forest myself to search for one little wolf girl? Must I do everything myself?”“Boss, I think she's covering her tracks. We really searched everywhere, but there’s no sign of her,” one of the hunters reported nervously.“Maybe she’s headed back to the Silvermoon pack?” another suggested cautiously.“She wouldn’t dare. But in case that’s her plan, we extend the search deeper into the woods,” Jerry scowled. “Get the dogs. They’ll pick up her scent. We move now!”Jerry led the group of hunters and two hunt dogs back into the forest. His sharp eyes scanned every tree and shadow, fury etched into his face.“She couldn’t have gotten far,” Jerry growled. “I want her found before nightfall!”“Boss, the dogs haven’t picked up anything yet,” a hunter said hesitantly, holding onto a leash as the ho

“He was affected by the poison and recoiled deep into the corner of my mind, too weak to surface,” Grayson explained, his voice steady but laced with emotion. “The antidote worked, yes, but it took time. His healing was slower because my depression weakened him further. I didn’t realize how much my state of mind affected him until he began to recover when he sensed the pack was in danger.”Diana let out a sigh of relief, her eyes softening. “I’m so happy he’s back. You have no idea how worried I was… about both of you.”Grayson nodded, his gaze distant. “I was worried too. Kyle is my anchor, my balance. Without him, it felt like I was missing a part of myself. I nearly lost it, Diana.”Beta Luke, who had been listening intently, chimed in. “Well, Kyle’s back, Diana’s alive, and we’re still standing. That’s worth celebrating, isn’t it?”Diana gave a small, bittersweet smile. “The celebration will only feel right when Evelyn is here with us.”Grayson’s jaw clenched, his fists tightening
