"You said you had something urgent to tell me," Grayson said, stepping into his office where Beta Luke was waiting.

"Yes, Alpha," Luke began but hesitated.

A crease formed on his forehead as if he were unsure whether what he was about to say made sense.

"Luke, what's wrong? Spit it out," Grayson said, growing concerned by Luke's demeanor.

"I don't know how you'll take this, but it’s strange," Luke said, shifting on his feet. "James was spotted at the southern border earlier today. He left the pack with a woman."

"A woman?" Grayson repeated, raising an eyebrow.

"Yes," Luke confirmed. "The thing is, he’s been leaving the pack frequently these days, and no one knows why. This time, the sighting seemed different. The guard described the woman as cloaked, and she wasn’t anyone we recognize from the pack."

Grayson’s face darkened as he processed the information. "Has he returned?"

"Not yet," Luke said. "He’s been gone all day."

Grayson began pacing, his mind racing. "This doesn’t sit right.

“The elders did that?” Beta Luke asked, his mouth falling open in disbelief.“Yes, Luke,” Grayson replied, his tone edged with frustration. “It was as if they had conspired beforehand. Elder Robert even dared to accuse me of being unjust.”“That’s preposterous! How dare he undermine your authority like that?” Beta Luke said, his anger flaring as he clenched his fists.Grayson let out a dry chuckle, shaking his head. “Calm down, Luke. Let them play their games. I know exactly how to deal with them. For now, focus on James. Keep a close eye on him, and find out if he has a cousin in the Crimson Pack.”“Understood, Alpha,” Beta Luke said, his tone firm with determination.Just then, Beta Luke’s expression shifted as he tilted his head slightly, accepting an incoming link. His features brightened as he spoke aloud, “Yes… Oh! That’s excellent news. I’ll inform the Alpha immediately.”Grayson raised an eyebrow. “What is it?”“There is a man at our border who claims to have information about

The sun was just beginning to rise as Grayson, Luke, and the two guards, Declan and Patrick, mounted their horses, ready to depart for the Shadow Pack. The air was crisp, and the group rode in silence for a while, until Luke broke it.“So, Alpha,” Luke began, steering his horse closer to Grayson’s, “what’s the first step when we arrive?”Grayson tilted his head slightly, his gaze fixed on the horizon. “We ask for Jaxon’s Beta, Gilbert. We observe Jaxon’s reaction to the request. If he knows about the attack, he’ll either defend it or try to shift blame. If he doesn’t know, that’ll be clear in his response.”Luke nodded thoughtfully. “And if Gilbert’s betrayed Jaxon, it means he’s operating independently. That would explain his boldness.”“Exactly. Either way, we need answers,” Grayson said firmly.Declan, riding just behind them, chimed in. “What if Jaxon’s in on it? Shadow Pack is small, but it could ally with others.”Grayson glanced back at him. “If that’s the case, we’ll find out

"Alpha Grayson! Stay with me!" Beta Luke called out frantically, kneeling beside Grayson’s motionless form. Grayson's chest rose and fell faintly, but his eyes remained shut, and blood oozed steadily from the arrow embedded in his chest.Luke clenched his fists, panic flashing through his mind. The arrow was barbed, and removing it without proper care could worsen the damage. Grayson’s natural healing abilities, strong as they were due to his Alpha bloodline, couldn’t activate effectively while he was unconscious.“We can’t lose you, Grayson,” Luke muttered under his breath, his voice thick with desperation. His gaze darted to the lifeless bodies of Declan and Patrick lying a few feet away, their sacrifice weighing heavily on his heart. He didn’t have time to mourn; the Alpha’s survival was his priority.Determined, Luke shifted into his large, muscular wolf form, he positioned Grayson’s unconscious body on his back, mindful of the arrow. Despite Luke’s strength, Grayson’s weight

Diana rushed over to Grayson, her hands moved to Grayson’s chest, checking for signs of life. The steady rhythm of the monitor slowed further, each beep feeling like a countdown to disaster. “Grayson, stay with us!” Diana pleaded, her voice breaking as tears streamed down her face. Luke clenched his fists, his heart pounding as he stared at his Alpha. “What do we do now?” Diana didn’t answer. She pressed her palms against Grayson’s chest, willing him to fight. “Grayson! I need you to fight this, please,” Diana cried, her hands gripping the edge of the hospital bed as her brother’s pulse continued to weaken. “I don’t understand! Why would his wolf shut down like this? Why isn’t it fighting back?” Beta Luke demanded, his voice tinged with frustration and helplessness. He paced the small room, running his fingers through his hair. Diana exhaled shakily, glancing at the still form of her brother. “I think the arrow was poisoned,” she said, her voice breaking slightly. “It’s not jus

Beta Luke stormed into the Pack's inn with an expression as dark as a brewing storm. His powerful strides and clenched fists sent the few patrons scurrying out of his path. Rage burned in his chest as he reached the room where Ryan was staying. Without bothering to knock, he shoved the door open with a loud bang.Inside, Ryan sat at the small dining table, calmly eating a loaf of bread and sipping water. His head snapped up at the sound, and he barely had time to react before Luke grabbed him by the collar and slammed him against the wall. Plates and cutlery clattered to the floor as Ryan let out a startled grunt.“What did I do to deserve this?” Ryan cried out, his eyes wide with shock.“Shut up! You traitor!” Luke roared, his voice echoing through the room.“Traitor? How could I possibly be a traitor?” Ryan asked, his face contorted in a mixture of confusion and disbelief.“You set us up for an ambush. You gave us the wrong Information. Are you working for them? Diana stared at Ryan suspiciously as he entered the room with Luke, her brows furrowed in distrust."Who is this?" Diana asked, her tone sharp and eyes narrowing as she assessed the unfamiliar man.Evelyn, who sat on the edge of the bed holding Grayson's hand, also glanced up, curiosity and concern etched on her face.Beta Luke cleared his throat and quickly introduced Ryan. He explained who Ryan was, the information he had shared about Shadow Pack and the antidote Ryan claimed to have."I object to this," Diana said coldly, her arms folded tightly across her chest. "We don’t even know if he’s telling us the truth or if he’s working against us. He was the one who gave us the information about Shadow Pack, and look where that led us!""Diana," Beta Luke said firmly, "I don’t think Ryan had anything to do with the ambush. I believe he’s telling the truth. His pack fell victim to the wolf hunters, just like ours might if we don’t act now.""And how exactly do you know that? Tell me," Dia

Evelyn crouched low, her piercing eyes tracking the small rabbit darting through the underbrush. Her wolf, Viola, growled softly in her mind.“Faster, Evelyn. That rabbit isn’t going to wait for us,” Viola urged.“I’ve got this,” Evelyn muttered under her breath, tightening her grip on the makeshift spear she had carved from a sturdy branch. The rabbit paused, ears twitching, and in that split second, Evelyn sprang forward and threw the spear at the rabbit, the spear landing squarely. The rabbit collapsed instantly. Evelyn exhaled deeply, a mixture of relief and guilt flooding her chest.“It’s survival,” Viola reminded her, her voice firm but gentle.Evelyn nodded. “I know.”She carried her catch back to the small clearing where a modest fire crackled. Working swiftly, she skinned the rabbit and skewered the meat over the flames. The rich aroma of roasting meat filled the air, and her stomach growled in anticipation. As she ate, she felt the strength returning to her body. Each bite

Beta Luke rushed into the hospital room, his heart pounding. The room was in complete disarray—chairs overturned, a shattered vase on the floor—but no sign of an intruder. His sharp eyes scanned the area before he spotted Diana in the inner room, tucked safely behind the locked door.“Lisa must’ve moved her,” he muttered, though unease churned in his gut. Something didn’t feel right.Moments later, Lisa burst into the room, her face pale and her eyes wide with apparent fear.Luke crossed his arms and fixed her with a hard stare. “What happened? How did the intruder get in here, and what does he look like?”Lisa hesitated just enough to make her story up. “I—I don’t know exactly. My instincts told me there was danger, so I quickly pushed Diana into the inner room and locked her in. Then this... massive man, with broad shoulders, stormed in and attacked me. I was too scared to initiate a link to alert you because of what happened to me the last time, so I ran to find you.”Luke’s jaw t

I checked here too, and you were nowhere to be found,” James countered, his tone laced with suspicion as he narrowed his eyes. “What are you up to, Lisa?”Lisa folded her arms, her demeanor shifting to one of defiance. “I was running some personal errands. His eyes darkened as he stepped closer. “I see right through you, Lisa,” he thought but kept the thought to himself. “Let’s get to the point. "I didn’t expect it to spiral like this. Grayson’s not just emotionally broken, He’s a shadow of himself now." James explained."How could this happen?" Jerry scoffed, kicking the air in frustration. "How are we supposed to lure Grayson out of the pack now?"James hesitated, then spoke, his voice low, almost pleading."There’s no need to lure him out. He’s not a threat anymore. He’s weak and vulnerable. You could come in and attack the pack directly. But… I ask that you don’t destroy everything."A dark smile tugged at Jerry’s lips. "He’s a shadow of himself, you say? Grayson must step down immediately, or we’ll have no choice but to take action against him."James smirked, folding his arms. "He’s already a shadow of himself as we speak. His weakness is evident.""That’s his problem," Gaius sneered. "What matters now is Silvermoon Pack’s future. We need a leader who won’t be so easily blinded or betrayed by women."The three shared a cold laugh, their disdain for the Alpha filling the room."I’ll meet with Robert," James suggested after the laughter subsided. "We need to know if he’s willing to join our cause or not."Demas scoffed dismissively. "Robert? That self-righteous fool? He’ll never agree.
