Two days had gone by since the first encounter between Diego and Cameron as the real Cameron, the person he always loved and, of course, learned to love slowly. He’d made so many mistakes that all he wanted now was to compensate to her all the pain she must have gone thought those years.

When they arrived at the place where the business meeting took place, everything seemed to work pretty well. The shareholders were satisficed with the new plan. Cameron and Diego were getting to know each other for they were, the people who had been reborn inside of them.

It was supposed to be a short trip, but Diego knowing Cameron the woman he loved, wanted to spend some more time with her. He wanted her to fall in love with the little things he could offer to her. They talked about the family that had built, even when Cameron was still unable to say Gadriel wasn’t her son but her sister’s. Diego didn’t need so much time to tell her Tita wasn’t his real daughter. Camilla and he had adopted her and,

Mr. Milan did everything he could to drag himself over the floor and get away from his granddaughter.“Let… let me… go… Let… me go…! You… you should’ve died!” The man said again and again. There was nothing in the world that made Camilla suffer. Not even the comments coming from her grandfather. That time had been left behind. Coming from the lowest of the lowest was not always a bad thing.“Get… Go… go to hell! Get… het the hell… out of here!” Mr. Milan said, dragging himself away from her.Camilla, with wise steps, she took the needle she had in her bag together with the little bottle of glass that Bastian had given her before.“W-what… what are you… doing, damn bitch?!”Camilla smiled. “I remember how many times you confessed to me to miss your son, my father, of course. When Cameron and Diego arrived at the hospital, the pain in Cameron’s heart was already leaving breathless. In a way, it felt like it was her fault. In a way, she also knew she couldn’t stop what her sister wanted to do all along, because it was who she was. The really surprising fact was knowing her capable of such a thing. She had killed her grandfather, and there was no way Cameron could prove that.At the waiting room, Mrs. Ferrer, Ace, Mr. Ferrer and the little boy Gadriel were waiting for Camilla –the real Cameron- and Diego. There was nothing she could do.As soon as Ace saw her coming, he got up. Gadriel ran to her, without caring about the man who was beside her.“Mommy!” Gadriel said. “Mommy, what’s going on? I don’t understand anything. My father wanted me to stay at home but Mrs. Maria didn’t go to work. I didn’t want to stay alone. What’s going on? Why did you come here? My daddy said this is more important than the dinner we have prepared for you.”‘Daddy. His daddy. Ace

Turning off the lights of her room, Cameron felt the need to relay her head on the edge of her bed. Her cheeks were completely wet. The life once was hers seemed to just be a dream now. And she’d woken up after so long. There was nothing in this world that could belong to her. A fool she was if she thought she could be another person. After all, Cameron was still being the same lovely Cameron who everybody took advantage of. Ace and her son was her only reality. That was something Cameron didn’t seem to want to take of her. Maybe, she had to learn to live with that.Suddenly, the door of her room slightly opened called the attention of the man who was going to see if she was okay. For an instant he thought it was Cameron who had left the door like that because she’d fallen asleep. His eyes didn’t find her on the bed.“Cameron?” He whispered. No answer. “Cameron?” Three steps ahead and… there she was. On the floor, crying her misery and fate. “Cameron! Cameron, what happened?!” Ace squ

Waiting for her sister to appear in that café where Cameron had asked to meet up, she placed her coffee down and looked around. A taxi pulled over by the entrance of the café. Cameron sighed. So, the moment Cameron had waited for was already marked by that action of her sister.High red heels, short and tight dress that marked her curves, the cleavage that distracted anyone and that mocking smile that was drawn on her face as soon as her eyes found her other part.“Cameron, Cameron, my dearest. Long time no see. Sister shouldn’t be apart for so long. Can I take a seat?”Cameron nodded. A lie it had been if she thought she, one day, could have the courage to face her. Cameron’s body shook. Such a naïve girl she was still being!Cameron couldn’t stop staring at her. That horrible smile that just a killer can have. Cameron was never going to forget. The worst part? She had no way to prove what her sister had done because there were moments where she also doubted Camilla doing such a thin

In this world, what could be worse than the secrets and lies that deny to come to light even when a small group of people already knew about them? Just exactly the small group of people who can set on fire the world once the secrets and lies out, but preferred to just stay quiet and watch their own world burning.Renata had been all day worried about the things she wanted to do to expose Cameron as Camilla, forcing her to take her real identity but on the other hand, it was still time where Renata wasn’t able to understand what was happening and why her son dared to do something like that. Of course it hurt her to know that her son didn’t consider her as the best mother in the world. He preferred to act on his own, without thinking about the consequences. At the end, he was alone. Her mother was always worried about the last trends, her friends of society and her young lovers. Finally, the door of the house opened. Renata came back to her reality. With his hands together relying on the desk, and across him it was Edmund, Ace had his head down. He didn’t want to say anything else, and Edmund seemed to pressure him to say what he wanted to hear.“Look! All I want is to understand the whole story.”“Why? Why now? Eliza died years ago. It was an accident. Those robbers didn’t measure the consequences of their acts and happened to kill her.”“It was an accident? How do you know that?”Ace sighed. It was obvious that Edmund was putting him under so much pressure for him to say what Edmund and, surely, Diego, wanted to hear in order to find someone who could pay for the death of that woman once Diego realized that for the second time the woman he loved was never going to be his.“You know what? I don’t want to continue with this shit. You want to say things that I don’t know. You want to find a guilty one because of Diego’s remorse. The man can’t overcome the fact the love of his life is no longer with us. Years had gone by since Eliz

In the house of Cameron and Ace, Susan kept looking for the combination to open the safe. It had been hours and Cameron nor Ace had arrived. Maybe, they were just having fun in the night of his proposal. Thousands of little papers with numbers written were covering the floor. Susan had noted the different combinations she’d been tried until that moment. When a special date came to her mind together with the memory. “The password is 12042004.” Ace informed Susan once she asked him the password to log in his work email. “What with that password? I thought you met Cameron last year.” “How do you know it’s a date?” “Well… maybe because I know you pretty well that I’m able to describe you as the kinda person who just uses dates when it comes to fix a password. Tell me, what about this one?” Ace sighed while his look got lost into nothingness. “Maybe, it’s one of the most important dates I’ll ever going to remember. With her look clouded, Cameron and Renata were accompanied by each other, feeling the same pain. By that moment Renata knew the boy was her sister’s son, but it was Cameron the one who loved him as his own mother. The same went for Tita. They didn’t care if Tita was adopted or not, Tita was their baby. And very soon, Cameron’s baby as well.Around ten cars, counting patrols where Ace and Diego were travelling, they arrived to one of the loneliest forests. Ace had indicated them to drive there. He knew Camilla was going to take the kids there, since he’d talked to her some minutes ago like he agreed on the plan. The truth was police was with them. Ace was going to confess everything. When they found Camilla, she was with the two kids crying and screaming at the edge of a cliff. Tita and Gadriel were tied up. Police were there.“Please, Camilla, give me the kids. You can’t do this to them. You were the mother of two. Please, we can start over. Give me the kids!” Cameron begged on her kn

With tears in her eyes, Cameron begged for Susan to have mercy on her. It was pointless to still saying that she had nothing to do with that when it was clear that it was her handwriting that had been printed on those little pieces of paper. The following day after the wedding that didn’t take place in reality, all Cameron did was look for Susan until the next day she found her. And now they were, Cameron running behind her over the hallways, trying to talk her in the declaration against Ace if he was guilty of course. If police didn’t find anything against Ace, Diego was going to carry the heaviness of another five years for faking information. Cameron wanted to save him. Cameron wanted to be justice, the justice that didn’t reach Eliza earlier.“If you know something, you should say it!” Cameron said.Susan turned around. There was way she could declare against Ace. Ace had been a real friend to her, if Susa did that it was going to be like betraying who did his best for her; like a

“Ace was fated to be with Eliza, but I was the one who came into their way. Ace and Eliza were the real protagonists of this story.” Diego started saying. “I fell for her just by silly conversations one day that Ace asked me to take care of his chat since he’d already had a fight with his soon to be wife, at least that was how he wanted it to happen. It was my mistake. I made her fall for me and when we met, I already knew she was going to come to me since I’d told her Ace was the real intruder, the friend of mine who was doing that favor of talking to her while I couldn’t. I changed the roles, Cameron. I married Eliza and wanted to make up to him, so I decided it’d be a good idea if he became one of the major shareholders until he could make his company one of the biggest not far from mine. Cameron, I wanted your family to take responsibility for that and your grandfather never knew that.”The more Diego said, the harder he was hitting in her heart. Tears came down. Cameron denied co

You know that the man was in some dirty business, right?” “Yes, I knew it , but I don’t think they could have done something like this.” “You know how that people could be. Even if you owe him a single buck that can be paid with your life.” Edmund sat down across his friend. “Something here isn’t okay.” “Of course; delinquency.” “No, I’m not saying so. What I’m saying is that we should find out who was the killer here.” “Come on, Edmund! That’s not easy! They’re all criminals. We can’t just simply…” “What are you trying to say? The sun rays could not shine any brighter for her as it was the happiest day of her life. Finally, after so much, having traveled that path of roses and thorns, dawn was breaking. Strong and clear rays of light. At least, that was Cameron wanted to think. She had to know this time she was marrying because she wanted to, not because someone was forcing her to do it. In a moment like that Cameron needed of her family, but sooner she realized her family was reduced to Camilla. This time her grandfather wasn’t going to take her to the altar where the only one should be waiting for her. They were going to be a happy family, that was all she wanted to think.“You look beautiful, Miss Cameron! “said one of the women who served her for that day.The white dress together with the veil fell like a beautiful white wave over her. When Bastian came back to his cell, he couldn’t help but feel like a relief in his heart after what he’d said to Cameron. Of course he would have liked she had understood what he tried to say, but there was a hunch in his heart that was telling him she just needed some time to think about it and see he was right. Cameron didn’t need to marry Ace when he was giving her the proof they needed to make Camilla get back to her place and Diego also have with he always loved by his side.In front of the cell where Bastian was, the other man who Camilla had talked with started studying him. The man needed to watch every single of his steps if he really wanted to get many things from the woman he’d just met.“Is that him?” One of his men asked him.The man looked firmly at Bastian. “Yes, he is. He’s identical to the photo the woman showed me.”“What do we do now?”“We need time. We need to watch his steps and watch out ours. No one can see us.”The other man beside him giggled. “It’s not like p

Running behind him for more than five streets, Edmund finally got Diego. The man was acting without thinking. All those things going on in his life were driving him wild. When Cameron had said she was going to become his karma, she wasn’t just talking.“Hold on… Diego… Hold on!” Edmund stopped him. His chest going up and down showed how much he’d run.“I can’t let this happen.”“You’re acting wild. You don’t know what’s wrong and what’s right now. You just see what you want to see. Diego, you’re not the hero of the story. Don’t pretend who you can’t be when you don’t even know what to do with your own problems.”“Thank you, Edmund.”It’s hard for people to realize the world isn’t what we want it to be with a single act. It’s even harder to realize we’re not the heroes of our stories.“The saying says if you want to help others, first help yourself. Cameron deserves to be happy after all the things she went through with you.”“Why does everyone think I’m her wrong?! Why does everyone t

Bastian didn’t understand what the woman was saying, or maybe, he didn’t want to understand what was clearer than water raining in autumn.Camilla was evil. What made him think that she was going to help him get the hell out of here? Camilla had been clear enough when she said Bastian was no longer in her interests. She had put the eye on another man. Someone who was more interesting, more powerful or of course, more handsome. For Camilla, all those years, Bastian was her happy moment after having fought with Diego. He was her little break, her better than nothing, but eventually, even that little break he was for her ends up bothering more than the fights she could have with Diego. Bastian’s smile erased. “What are you trying to say?”“Maybe that you’ll stay here for some years if you still want to have power when you come out of here.”Bastian denied with his head. The gaze he was giving her talked the words that couldn’t be pronounced by his mouth. The woman had shocked him with

So, it wasn’t a game? She wasn’t playing at all? It seemed like she was never going to trust him. What else did she need to understand how guilty Diego felt for what he did to her years ago? Now, the one who seemed to be playing with his feelings was her. One night she appeared in the hotel where he had asked her to be, Diego had confessed her his feelings and she allowed him to love every single part of her body and the next day, they were there like two strangers with nothing in common aside from the possibility of Diego getting out of there as long as he didn’t say anything against Camilla. Cameron had to be going crazy. There was no way Cameron could take her sister’s side after all the shit she had made her go through.Getting up from her seat, Cameron looked at him for the last time. “Good luck, Diego Ferrer. I really wish you well.” And walked off before the tears could run down and Diego noticed the truth behind those words. After all, they weren’t destined. Everything had sta
