Episode 4

I acted on Luciano's assumptions and rushed into Ethan's room; Ethan was in his crib, crying so loudly that it would wake everyone up at home.

"Sorry, baby! Calm down, mummy is here." I carried Ethan in my arms and cuddled him. Slowly his crying reduced, and then he finally stopped.

"Phew! Thank you," Luciano let out a sigh of relief. He was thankful to me for handling the situation.

"It's okay, Ethan is like a son to me." I thanked him for giving me the chance to become my son's caregiver.

Luciano smiled, he sat down on the couch and admired me as I held Ethan in my arms.

"Wow! You are good at this? Have you done this before?" Seated on his chair, Luciano asked me.

I didn't know if I should tell him the truth or not. "No! But I'm good with kids," I admitted.

Luciano pulled a smile at me. And then shortly after, I laid Ethan back in his crib again and slowly backed away.

"Thanks, Sophia," he said, as he walked me to the door.

"It's okay, sir, goodnight," I said, reaching for the door handle. But before I could even touch it, the door swung open from the outside, and Hanna stood before me, a surprise entrance that caught me off guard.

"Wow! You both look cosy?" She became jealous, spotting me with her husband behind closed doors. It wasn't as if we were caught doing something inappropriate; I had only come here because of my son or do I say, their son?

"Nothing to worry about Hanna! Sophia has taken care of it," said Luciano. However, there was something else brewing in Hanna's mind, and this surfaces anytime she stumbles upon me and her husband.

With the tension building, I knew it was time to make a discreet exit. I returned to my room, closed the door behind me, and sought the sanctuary of my bed, leaving Hanna's marital issues for her husband to resolve.

"Good morning, Sophia?"

The following day, I woke up and came across Hanna sitting next to me in bed. She looked like she had come to do something evil, but no matter how much she wanted me gone, it wouldn't benefit her if anything should happen to me.

"What? How did you get into my room?" Terrified by her sudden appearance, I jerked up from the bed, my heart almost ceased beating due to the shock.

"Oh! Don't tell me you're scared?" She teased me, "please! Don't worry, I won't do anything bad to you. Wanna know why? Because I need you, and so does Ethan." She finally admitted to needing me.

"Okay? So what do you want?" I came down from my bed and asked her. Hanna squinted her eyes and thought. "I don't know. Perhaps I'd want us to go shopping," she looked at me and smiled.

"Shopping? Do I look like someone who can afford anything that you wear?" I asked her as she giggled and replied, "Oh, please, who said about getting anything for you," again she laughed. "You'll be attending as my helper," she stood up, arranged her short skirt, and left me to ponder.

Of all the maids on staff, Hanna singles me out to assist her with her shopping today. Something feels off about this request - it's suspicious, to say the least. Is it just my paranoia, or is there more to this errand than meets the eye?

I changed and met Hanna at the car, relieved to find her in a better mood. She invited me to get in, and I obliged, but not before quickly sending a text to Gena, asking her to keep a watchful eye on Ethan in my absence. I couldn't shake the nagging worry that something might go wrong while I was away from my son.

We stopped at the first clothing store. The store manager came out and welcomed Hanna with gifts and flowers. I came inside, and there were clothes already lined up for Her Royal Highness.

"I love this... What do you think, Sophia?" She pointed me to the short pink floral dress.

"It's beautiful," I agreed with her. She nodded agreeably and then asked the store manager to pack it up. The man asked if she wasn't going to test the clothes; however, she refused and responded to him that it was for a friend. "Who's a friend?" I thought to myself.

Hanna embarked on a shopping spree, buying up half the store's inventory. Anyone would think she's opening her boutique! But in reality, she's recklessly splurging Luciano's money without any restraint. 'Sophia, isn't this gorgeous?' she asked, holding up a shoe with a price tag that made my eyes widen. I played along, nodding, 'Yes, nice.' She tossed the shoe to the sales lady and continued her shopping frenzy, leaving a trail of expensive purchases in her wake.

She was determined to shop in every store in town, but thankfully, we were requested to come back home. The driver took us back to the mansion. Hanna and I both came down from the car, her eyes twitched to see her husband anywhere as we walked inside. I carried a few shopping bags, but before the driver brought the remaining bags, Luciano rushed down, and right there in my presence, he slapped Hanna on her cheeks.

"What? What did I do?" Hanna sought to know as I was dumbfounded. "Oh! You don't know?" A furious Luciano screamed at his wife for the first time. "Yes! Tell me because I don't know what the f**k... Is going on." She took a breather and then continued to speak.

Luciano, in his disappointment, brought out his phone and showed us a video of Hanna going to the bank and requesting 500,000 dollars. What was she going to use it for?

"Now tell me? What do you want to use this kind of money for?" Luciano turned his phone upside down, waiting for Hanna to defend herself.
