Episode 2

Her Royal Highness sent me to get some decorations from the outside; she said there was going to be a party in the evening, and she would love to have me decorate the entire Mansion. Decorating a huge Mansion all by myself and without the assistance of anyone working at the mansion was like attempting to send me to an early grave. The mansion was huge, and it would be suicide if anyone attempted to pull such a stunt, a suicide mission I took up with my arms spread apart. I needed to show Hanna that, with or without the assistance of anyone, I was going to decorate the entire Mansion for the impromptu party she had planned, even though there might not be a party at all, and she was only trying to punish me.

I left Ethan in her care. If I were to take care of the decorations, she should at least be a good stepmother and take care of my child.

"Ma'am! Can I help you?" Gena offered her assistance. She has been one of the many who welcomed me home and also faced Hanna's backlashes.

"No, I'm fine," I smiled. "But please, keep an eye on Ethan for me."

Gena nodded her head and left immediately for my son's bedroom, which, of course, she didn't know about. No one knows about the secret, apart from Hanna and me.

After several hours, I had completed my tasks. I should commend myself for a job well done, but hearing those praises from Hanna would be much better.

"Ma'am, I'm done," I walked into Ethan's room, and Hanna, to whom I had given the responsibility of taking care of my son, was busily Snapchat with her friends. Ethan was left alone in his crib, his hands reaching out to her, but she was too focused on the video she was making, ignoring my son.

"You!? Furious, I ran to Ethan and carried him up. "Have you no shame? What kind of a mother are you?" I had to rest Ethan on my chest, confronting her with my burning anger.

"What? What happened?" She turned, appearing unaware of her actions. "Really? Ethan almost fell while trying to reach out to you!?" I told her, feeling she needed to take responsibility rather than blame the innocent child.

"It's not my fault that your son is as clingy as you," she smirked and went back to her phone. Ethan had already fallen asleep on my chest as I laid him down on his bed and turned back to Hanna. "Then give him back to me since his mom is too much of a clingy person," I confronted her after taking her phone. She growled in anger, demanding I return her cell phone, and mocked me, questioning if I had ever held such an expensive phone in my life. I intended to return her cell phone, but her words provoked me to the point where I raised her phone above my head and smashed it to the ground. She was married to Luciano; something as minor as a cell phone wouldn't be an issue.

I left her alone in the room with Ethan. She might hate me, but she wouldn't dare do anything horrible to my son. After all, Ethan is the only reason why Mr. Lakewood married her. Aside from the fact that he loves her, does my friend truly love him? I wouldn't be surprised if she married Luciano because of his wealth.

Luciano bumped into me on my way down the stairs. "Sophia! Where is my son?" He brought bags full of baby clothes with a smile.

"In his room, sleeping... Your wife is in with him." I felt a bit emotional after seeing the clothes he bought for Ethan, a son who doesn't share the same blood as him.

Luciano asked me for a glass of water and hurriedly left to be with his son and wife. I prepared the glass of water and brought it to him. "Sir! Your water." I offered the glass of water to him on a silver tray. He gave Ethan to Hanna before collecting the glass of water from me. I stayed a little close to her; I wouldn't want her royal highness to trip and in the process cause my son to fall.

"So, do you like the clothes?" Luciano asked his wife, wanting to hear some praise. But Hanna was so self-absorbed; she crushed his spirits when she complained about literally the entire school her husband bought.

"You don't like them?" He asked, his heart hurting from his wife's response. "What about you? Don't you also like the clothes?" Hanna's husband confronted me for a final verdict. I had no objection to the clothes. And even though I shouldn't interfere in the discussion of a husband and wife, Hanna had no right to trample over her husband's feelings.

"I have no objection, and as Ethan's caregiver," I walked to Hanna. I stared right at her face and collected the bags from her hands, squeezing every piece of fabric. "Your son will look good in it."

My validation seemed to bring a smile to Luciano's face. "Thank you, Sophia," he said before hissing at Hanna and leaving with a grin because of me.

He had the most innocent look on his face when I supported him and not his wife, Hanna thought I'd stand by her side despite everything she had done to me.

"Stay away from my husband!" Hanna's claws came out as soon as Luciano left. I went to the wardrobe, dropped the bag, and turned back to face her. "I'm sorry, I'm not into your husband," I made my words true. "Really? Because you've been kind of too nice to him," she accused me of flirting with her husband. Hanna must be hallucinating because, despite her nasty and rude attitude toward him, Luciano is genuinely in love and wouldn't dare look at someone else who isn't his wife.
