EVE'S POV
When Morgan’s finger tugged on the towel and it became a little loose, I snapped out of the trance he had distracted me into.
My face flushed fresh, and as my mind rattled back into work-mode, I realised how precarious my situation was. I had let this go too far.
Pushing Morgan's hand away, I ducked under his arm and reached for my door. This time, he didn't stop me as I twisted the handle and pushed the door open.
I slammed it closed behind me, as if to further emphasise that I was not up for whatever he had in mind.
Rushing to my mirror, I pressed my hands to my face and took deep breaths. I had no idea who I was more pissed at, him for teasing me in my state of undress, or myself for giving him any sign that I liked it.
It seemed that I was getting too comfortable with him and forgetting that not only was he my pretend husband, but that I was also deceiving him about my identity.
Nothing could happen between us, as long as I was living a lie.
MORGAN'S POV
Outside the door, I cursed and raked my hand through my hair.
Had I been too pushy?
The last thing I wanted was to scare her away or make her vigilant aroundme.
Our relationship had come a long way from when we were newlyweds wary of each other, or, to be honest, I being wary of her. And I didn't want things to go back to that.
With a last longing look at her door, I walked to the kitchen for a cold drink to help me cool down.

EVE'S POV
As I walked into the company building the next morning, a sense of foreboding loomed over me and refused to let go.
I clutched my bag tightly in amy hand to keep my hands from trembling, and ended up digging my nails into my palms.
Trying to calm myself down was impossible. Even while I tried to not fall apart on the outside, my heart was thudding in my chest, and I was certain that was why I was feeling light-headed.
It got even worse as I got in the elevator and headed to my office floor. In less than a minute, I wasgoing to walk into my department, where Mr Gray was probably waiting to make me pay for the previous night's incident.
Morgan's assurances had almost convinced me that I didn't have to worry, but none of that confidence he had instilled in me remained.
I was walking into the lion's den alone, and heaven only, knew whether I would walk out with my job.
The morning began without any incident, and I almost believed that Mr Gray had no intention of hunting me down for revenge. But that belief was crushed when a short while, after ten o'clock, he walked out of his office and came straight to my desk.
"Ms Luciano, you're fired”, he said, loud enough for me and whoever else was in the vicinity to hear.
I opened my mouth to say something, but his sudden announcement had shocked me into speechlessness.
When he saw that I wasn't saying anything, he proceeded,
"Clear out your desk as fast as possible, you're no longer a part of this company”,
It was when he turned away to leave that I shot to my feet, finding my voice.
"Why?", I asked.
Of course I knew why, but he couldn't give that as a reason for firing me, could he?.
I wanted to know what excuse he was using to get his revenge.
Mr Gray turned around and gave me a hateful glare.
"Because you are not suitable for the position", he replied.
Not good enough for the position?
That was what the was going with? After the gruesome interviewing process I had gone through and aced?
"How am I not suitable?", I demanded.
A murmur rose among my coworkers.
"Her design got selected for the autumn winter series exhibition," someone said.
"I'm pretty sure she's suitable",
Mr Gray threw a glare towards the person who said that.
"I'm the department director, I'm sure I know better than you, who's suitable for this job”,
"But we heard that she passed all her interviews exceedingly" another person added.
"Personally I think she is quite talented”,
As more people agreed with that sentiment, Mr Gray got angrier, and I got braver.
Even if he wanted to assert his seniority as the director, he was dreaming if he thought I was going to let him have his way without taking this further. As far as I was concerned, he was abusing his position, and thankfully, he wasn't at the top of the ladder. There were people he was answerable to, and I would make sure to present my grievance to them before packing up just because he said so.
"If you do not do as I say", he told me, stepping towards me threateningly,
"Everybody here will find out exactly what kind of woman you are”,
His cold tone caused a chill to run down my spine, and I swallowed.
What did he mean by that?.
Getting close to me, he told me in a low volume so that nobody else heard.
"As the department director, I refuse to work with someone who tries to seduce me to get favours at work",
I gaped. That?. He would say that if I reported him, he would twist the story around to place the blame on me.
It would also be easy to pin it on me in this situation if he was pressed to provide a viable reason for firing her.
The look he gave me as he stepped back told me that he had every intention of making that claim right away.
I closed my trembling hands into fists, unable to think of a way around. Unless I could get proof that he was lying, everybody would believe his story. My only option was to leave silently.
Mr Gray turned away to go back into his office, but stopped a second later when a voice called his name from the entrance.
I turned to find Mr Dickson , the vice president, coming forward. But he was not alone, he was accompanied by three police officers, and the entire office turned their attention to the new spectacle.
Mr Gray turned around and met the group halfway.
"Is anything the matter, sir?" he asked the vice president.
One of the police officers stepped forward and faced Mr Gray.
"We have received a video showing that you're a suspect in the attempted rape of Ms Eve Luciano. We'd like you to come down to the station with us”,
"What?" Mr Gray demanded.
"What's this nonsense?", he added.
"The video clearly shows you dragging Ms Luciano into a room", the officer provided.
"Come with us and we'll talk about it at the station”,
Mr Gray's eyes found mine, and he took a threatening step towards me.
"You bitch…"
l took a step backwards quickly, but one of the officers grabbed his arm to keep him from getting to me.
As the officer steered Mr Gray towards the exit, he turned to the vice president, shaking his head.
"There has been a mistake. It's all a lie. I would never do that!",
The vice president simply asked him to cooperate with the police and to not make a scene.
As the group left, the entire office watched, surprise etched on all of their faces.
I was astonished too and couldn't believe it
"That must be why he was attempting to fire you”, one of my colleagues said.
"What a jerk!",
"Thank God he was captured on camera," Someone else said.
"I'm so sorry that you had to go through that, Eve",
"Don't worry, Mr Dickson will make sure he never sets foot here again”, someone else comforted her.
I sure hoped so. But, who had filed the report against Mr Gray?.
EVE'S POV On my way home from work that evening, I came across Morgan jogging in the community. He was dressed in a pair of running shorts that left his long muscular legs exposed, and a t-shirt that made it easy to imagine the muscular physique hidden beneath.Soon enough, my thoughts went to forbidden territory, and I stopped them and focused on the matter that had been on my mind all day. Morgan was the only person from last night who knew my identity and who took the incentive to stop Mr Gray. So there was a high probability that he was the one who had reported him to the police."How was work?" he asked when he got to me and fell into step with me on our way home."It was good”, I said, and then looked up at him."Some officers came in the morning and arrested the director. Are you the one who went to the police with the surveillance video from last night?","Oh, they did?”,I nodded approvingly. "Good. Yes, I'm the one who gave them the video”, "Thank you so much. You won't
MORGAN’S POV The moment Eve pressed her lips to mine, the little restraint that was keeping me from doing something that could have her running into her room snapped.Even if I was determined to not do such a thing, the frenzied passion that surged through my body the moment she kissed me made sure that my efforts were futile.Wrapping my arms around her body,I picked her up and walked to the sofa, our lips still pressed together. The fact that she didn't pull away or push me away through all that, assured me that she wanted this as much as I did.I only separated us as I lay her down on the sofa and hovered above her. Her eyes fluttered open to look at me, and then she nibbled on her bottom lip shyly. Had she known what accepting my request for a kiss could lead to? Or had she thought it was an innocent request?."You're too naive," I whispered as I brought my lips down to hers. This time, I kissed her urgently, my firm lips prying her soft ones apart. She submitted to my kisses,
EVE'S POV Muffled sounds, filtered through the door of the room on the first floor, a mixture of groans, moans, and grunts. Inside the room, a man drove his hips between the legs of his lover, chasing an orgasm."Keep it quiet" Jake groaned as his lover's moans took a new high tone, as he drove deeper into her. "Someone can probably hear you in the hallway!"The woman looked up at him. "Who cares? Maybe I should scream so Eve can hear us. It looks like you need a little help in breaking up with her."Jake squeezed his eyes tight and focused on the pleasure building in his abdomen. I clearly was the last thing he wanted to talk about while making out with my sister."Why are you still with her, anyway? You have me. why do you still keep that worthless woman around?"Jake pulled his strength out of Cindy, and when his tip was on the very edge, thrust came back into her. A loud gasp left her mouth as he picked up the pace of his thrusts. She threw her head back as he took her hard.
EVE'S POV I twisted my fingers on my lap, and casted another look past the seated guests at the entrance of the gardens, where my wedding was taking place. My brow furrowed slightly when there was no sign of Morgan Caruso or any of his family members. The ceremony had been supposed to start two hours ago. All the guests from my side of the family were already here, but not one from the groom's side. Now, I was reduced to nerves as I sat and waited. Was he going to make it? I had never met him, but I had heard that he was an idler. What if he decided to not show up? Firstly I was been forced into marrying a stranger only to have him ditch me at the altar… All this not long after what happened with Jake and my sister. The two were seated on the front row, and I was doing my best to ignore them. Cindy had been stuck to Jake's side since they arrived, and a few comments had been thrown around about what a beautiful couple they were. But I tried not to let it get to me. While it stil
MORGAN’S POV I noticed the moment she noticed my brooch and frowned. I looked down at the pricey jewellery and smiled."Do you like it?" I leaned in, getting closer to her ear. Lowering my voice, I whispered, "It's actually fake, borrowed it from a friend"She nodded and pulled back, her face flushing."Yeah, uh, it looks real;"' she said, pulling her hand from my arm and stepping away.I was happy my little lie had worked. Otherwise, how would i explain wearing a brooch worth two million when I was trying to pass off as poor?I was also confused as my bride withdrew from me, as if suddenly shy of our closeness.Mh. Was she putting up a show? According to my source, the eldest daughter of the Luciano's family was anything but demure. I had expected to meet a bold seductress. But my bride seemed to be doing her best to avoid my gaze, and now, she was putting physical distance between us.Before I could think of a way to draw her from her shell, the woman who had attempted to waylay
EVE'S POV I looked towards the bathroom. It was the only private place in the house. I guess It at least solved one of my problems. I would never have to changed in his presence. I would only wish he did me the same courtesy and stopped undressing in front of me."Yes" i said, nodding. Still keeping my gaze away from him, i walked towards where my suitcases were sitting. Opening one, I looked for my towel and a change of clothes. Then, without another word to him or a glance towards his side, I hurried towards the bathroom, opened the door, and disappeared inside. The bathroom was not as spacious as the one back home, but it had enough space for a shower, the toilet, and counter space. There was no bathtub, but that was fine. I could live without those relaxing herbal baths I had gotten used to at my family's home. It's just a small price to pay.Looking at myself in the mirror, I cursed softly. My face was still covered in all the makeup I had worn for the wedding. I had forgotte
EVE'S POV My heart hammered away in my chest. Why was he suddenly asking that? Have I said something to give myself away?.If he finds out the truth and cancelled the marriage... No! I couldn't let that happen. If he discovers my family's deceit, my parents would no longer cater for Sarah's treatment."Of course I am" I replied, crossing my arms across my chest. "Why would you ask that?".He didn't answer immediately. Instead, his eyes narrowed as he continued to stare at me. It made me even more uneasy."You are the Caruso's' eldest son, right?" I asked, attempting to shift the attention from me to him.He shoved his hands in his trouser pockets and rocked on his feet. “I am", he said and I nodded. "Well then, it's all good, right?”MORGAN POVKnowing that I was going to marry a strange woman to fulfil my mother's wish. I sent someone to investigate the eldest daughter of the Lucianos. I had needed to know about her so he could figure out how to encourage her to divorce him qui
EVE'S POV My face burned red at Morgan’s words and proximity. Why was he suddenly acting this way?.I had already made it clear that I wasn't going to share the bed with him, let alone sleep with him!He must be teasing me!.His lips was so close to my ear as he whispered."What do you think?"What did I think? I couldn't even think, for one. The only thing I knew was that I needed to get out of this situation…Quickly, I ducked under one of his arms and sprinted across the room to the bathroom. I didn't care of how I looked like running away. I would deal with the embarrassment the next day. Now, all I had to do was remain in the bathroom until he went to sleep then I could slip back into the room.Heaving a sigh, I walked to the mirror and took in my appearance. My face was a raw shade of red, and when I placed my fingers against it, i felt how hot it was. When was I going to stop having such a reaction to him?MORGAN'S POV When I woke up the next day, the first thing that regist
