Chapter 109: The Secret

Ludovic's POV

"I- I don't know what to say to her," I sniffed, turning to Iris, as if her face had the script of the right words to say to Amber. "I thought i was ready for this, but I'm not. This is harder than I thought," I confessed, clenching my jaw.

I still can't believe father and Amber used to be lovers. It left me withdrawn for days wrapping my fingers around the truth. The woman I thought was my mother, whose hands nurtured me from childhood to adulthood, was not entirely my mother.

Largely, by birth.

Mother knew I was the son of another woman, yet, she brought me up without prejudice with all.the love I can ever ask for. Her lullabies, her recipes, the sound of her laughter, the liveliness in her gait; and she was not my biological mother?

No doubt, father told me the truth. He couldn't have made that up- could he? No! It was the truth as it was. If anything to go buy, father losing consciousness was enough proof that the story was true.
