Two Brothers. One Soulmate.Chapter 8: a search come to an end.Jedidiah spotted Luca again standing in line to get lunch, warm feeling was back.Soon as their eyes met he smiled and was about to get out of his seat when the boy walked quickly out the door.'Like hell you are,' Jedidiah thought as he got out of his seat.“Where are you going?” asked Jay.“Bathroom,” replied Jedidiah not missing a beat.He moved his way as quickly as possible through the crowd and out the door.Once he finally made it into the hall he looked around and couldn’t spot the boy anywhere. “Shit.”He moved down the hall searching and even went back up to the second floor and still didn’t see him.‘Where is he?'Jedidiah checked the third floor and then the fifth floor lounge yet still no luck.Even though Mr. Christopher said he only took dance and music classes, Jedidiah checked the art rooms on his way back down. Not finding him there, he scratched his head in confusion and sighed.“Williams is going to kill me.”Defeated, Jedidiah made his way back to the cafeteria and tried to focus on his new friends conversations as best he could. The rest of the day he hadn’t spotted Luca at all and come three o’clock he was feeling really down in the dumps. He had gotten the occasional text from Williams asking if he had made communication yet and each time he’d come back with a no.Before leaving to catch his bus he made one last ditch effort to locate the boy who might potentially be his other soulmate but again no luck.It was like the boy just disappeared. The bus ride back to their vacation home was miserable as he thought about all his failures today. How was he supposed to tell Williams he didn’t get a chance to talk to him yet.He hadn’t even answered his last text as he left the school he was so upset. At his stop, Jedidiah got off the bus and slowly moved up to the house and entered.“I’m home,” He called weakly.Rapid footsteps could be heard from the living room and two seconds later, Williams came around the corner with a big smile on his face. The smile however faltered when he saw the look on Jedidiah’s face.“What happened? Where is Luca?.” He asked and walked up to Jedidiah taking his hands into his.Jedidiah just stared at the floor trying to stop the tears that were trying to fall.“I couldn’t get close to him,” He said, “not without be obvious about it. Other people can’t know cause of Dad and Mum finding out that we are only here because of him. I saw Luca at lunch but he took one look at me and ran. I searched the building but it was like he disappeared, maybe he left at lunch time. I don’t know… I tried, Liam, trust me, I really did.”Williams wrapped his arms around him who finally burst into tears not being able to hold them back.“It’s okay Jedi, you don’t have to be so sad about it,” He said softly and rubbed his back. “We have a month right? We’ll get another chance, it’s okay, please don’t cry.”“But… you said you would disown me as your brother if I didn’t bring him home,” Jedidiah cried as he clung to Williams’s shirt. His brother’s chest shook a little as he tried to hold back a laugh. “But i wasn’t the one who adopted you,” He replied using Jedidiah’s own words against him.“It’s not funny,” Jedidiah mumbled in Williams’s shirt as he lightly hit his shoulder.“I’m not going to disown you, Jedidiah.” Williams made his brother look at him. “I could never leave you.”He wrapped his arms tighter around him and kissed his forehead. “It’s okay, Hmm?, we’ll get him.”Hearing movement off the living room, Williams turned his head to see their friends staring at them. The brunet simply shook his head and they gave him a sympathetic look before disappearing. “Come on, Jackson finally gave up his pride and made dinner for us.”Jedidiah nodded and pulled away wiping at his eyes.Taking off his shoes he handed his backpack to Williams who put it away in the closet as well as Jedidiah’s coat.Walking into the living room arms enveloped him and he turned to glance at Jackson. The older boy didn’t say anything as he held Jedidiah which he was thankful for. When he pulled away, Jackson ruffled his hair lightly.“Go get washed up for dinner,” The older guy said softly.Jedidiah only nodded as he went upstairs to take a shower not seeing the concerned gazes his friends gave him.Dinner that night wasn’t as lively as it normally was, everyone was pretty much silent with a few soft spoken conversations here or there.Williams must of explained what happened at school as everyone kept glancing at him.Jedidiah retired early that night and filled Williams in on what he had heard from the teacher. The next morning Williams was already up before him researching deaths from four years ago. There was mentions of a woman and child in a car accident that resulted in the mother’s death but they didn’t mention any names. There were other reports similar and some not painting a clear picture so they couldn’t be sure which was which. The rest of the week was spent trying to enjoy his vacation when he didn’t have lessons in the afternoons and trying to track down Luca when he did. He’d always keep a look out for him in the city should they go out. The boy however had always seemed to allude him some how and it was making Jedidiah anxious and a bit depressed.During the week while walking the halls of the school he’d notice a lot of pictures of students who had won awards in the name of the school and was surprised to see at least seven with Luca’s name on them. He couldn’t help but feel proud of the boy he’d yet to meet.Every time he thought he caught a glimpse of the boy he was either dragged away by his new friends or bombarded with girls trying to flirt with him and wanting to see if maybe one of them was his soulmate. He’d run from the girls every time.Wednesday night, Jedidiah had another nightmare, his worst and clearer yet, which left him sweating, shaking, and trying to catch his breath from a panic attack.Being able to see the doe-eyed boy while he screamed in pain made the dream all too real for Jedidiah.Williams had run to get Jackson not knowing how to calm him down. The next morning after getting out of the shower he had noticed a bruise about five centimeters in diameter on his rib cage.Neither he nor Williams could figure out where it had come from.Come Monday, Jedidiah was extremely frustrated as he stabbed his salad during lunch.“Are you okay?” Bart asked after the grape tomato Jedidiah was trying to stab went flying across the room. The orange head boy let out a deep sigh.“Yeah,” He said trying not to sound depressed. The others looked like they didn’t believe him. He hadn’t seen Luca at all that day yet and he was getting upset. As if on queue the familiar mop of black hair on top the face with doe shaped eyes and bunny like nose entered the room.Jedidiah sat straight up only to have his knee collide with the table leg and he winced.“Dude, you sure you’re okay?” Matthew asked.Jedidiah nodded.“I’m good,” He said. “Hey what’s his story?” He pointed to Luca who had yet to notice him. “I’ve seen pictures of him in the halls, apparently he’s won several awards? More then some of the other names that were up there.”All three boys turned to look at Luca who was getting his lunch.“You mean that nerdy kid?” Zed asked and Jedidiah nodded.“Apparently he’s one of the top most students here,” Matthew said. Jedidiah already knew that. “He has his own private practice room on the fifth floor.”That he didn’t know and at that point Jedidiah felt like an idiot.“There are private practice rooms?” He asked.“Only for the top ten students,” was Matthew’s reply. If Jedidiah had known that a week ago, he would have gone straight there all this while and just knocked on the door.“I’ve heard rumors that he’s some sort of delinquent,” said Bart as he bit into an apple.“Why do you say that?” Jedidiah sighed as Luca fled the room again after looking at him.“Came to school one day with a black eye,” Bart said. “Told the teachers he got into some kind of fight. He also doesn’t talk to anyone and sticks to being alone all the time.”“I heard after his mom died he couldn’t pay for lessons anymore so he does this work study program so he can keep coming here,” Zed said through a mouthful of food. “I ran into him about a month back as he was cleaning one of the practice rooms after school. Apparently I scared him and I think he thought I was going to hit him as he almost pissed his pants.”Jedidiah frowned at this information.“Why do you ask?”Jedidiah shrugged and looked down at his salad. “Just curious.”“Why? Do you like him?” Matthew smirked.Jedidiah had to refrain from blushing.“I have to admit the kid’s cute but his antisocial tendencies makes it hard to get close to him so eventually people just stopped trying.” Jay admitted.Jedidiah just nodded and nothing more was said on the subject. After he finished his salad he excused himself and left the cafeteria heading up to the fifth floor. He walked the hall trying to find Luca’s practice room when he noticed none of the doors had names on them. When he asked someone if they knew they just shrugged and walked away.Well that was no help.He could sit and wait him out in the lounge but he had a lesson in fifteen minutes and his parents would be mad at him for skipping as they were paying for this after he’d begged them to let him take lessons while on vacation. With a sigh, Jedidiah rubbed the back of his head and walked back downstairs. His lesson ended at three so he would sit in the lounge till the end of the day when classes ended at five to try and catch him.He shot Williams a text letting him know the plan before moving on to his lesson.Come five o’clock, Jedidiah was startled awake by his phone ringing, he had fallen asleep while waiting after his lesson.Reaching into his pocket he grabbed his phone, it was Williams.Jedidiah smiled and answered the call. “Hey Liam.”“Did you find him yet?” was what he got.Jedidiah looked confused. “Find who?”He heard Liam click his tongue. “Luca!” he all but yelled in Jedidiah’s ear.Jedidiah’s eyes went wide and looked at his watch. “Crap!” He jumped off the couch in the lounge. “I’ll call you back!”With that he hung up the phone and shoved it back in his pocket. He ran to the end of the hall to the last door on the left, he finally found someone who knew which room was Luca’s, and knocked. No answer so he waited thirty seconds and knocked again.“Luca Knights?” He called lightly.Still no answer.Jedidiah pressed his ear to the door after checking to see it if was locked, which it was, but didn’t hear anything. If he wasn’t there he must be getting ready to clean the building right? After his lesson earlier he made it his mission to locate the supply closet which was on the second floor.Running back to the lounge he grabbed his bag and threw it over his shoulder before taking the stairs two at a time till he reached the second floor.Sure enough at the end of the hall the supply closet door was open and there was Luca..TBCTwo Brothers. One Soulmate . Chapter 9: is it too late? . Taking a deep breath and fixing his hair and clothes, Jedidiah made his was down the hall. “Hi there.” ‘Well that as dumb, how about calling his name first. Crap he’s turning around. God he’s so cute.' Jedidiah was having too much of an internal monologue that he didn’t see the boy’s shocked expression nor the items that decided to fall off the shelf on top of him till it was too late and the boy was on the floor.“Hey are you okay?” Jedidiah asked as he reached his hand out, worried that he might have hurt himself. He watched as Luca reached for him and just as their fingers touched the boy jerked back. Jedidiah did as well as a shock ran up his arm and traveled through his body, a feeling he’s only ever felt once before. ‘It is him,' He thought as he stared wide eyed at the boy, a smile creeping on his face. Luca however looked terrified and it took about ten seconds for Jedidiah to realize that he was running past h

Luca just commuted suicide... He didn’t even notice Williams shuffling about till he was thrusting his winter coat into Jedidiah’s unclasped arms.“Liam?” Jedidiah stared at Williams. “W-What are you doing?.” “Go grab his stuff,” was Williams’s short reply as he started to kick off his shoes.“What?” He asked.“I said grab his stuff!!”. Williams’s voice was loud and commanding so Jedidiah just complied without any more questions. He looked around and spotted two bags on the side walk. Grabbing them quickly he threw the backpack over his shoulders then hoisted up the duffle with ease. He turned around to see Williams up on the railing.“Liam! What do you think you are doing? Get down from there!.” “Just call 911, okay?.” Willians rolled his neck trying to crack it. “It would be just like bungee jumping.”
Two Brothers. One Soulmate . Chapter 11: Just a bit of a lucky charm . Williams reached into his pocket for his phone and checked the time, twelve twenty seven am, before pulling up Jackson’s number. After the third ring the line clicked over and Jackson’s groggy voice was heard. “Hello?”.“Uh… Jackson, don’t get mad but… Jedidiah and I are on our way to the hospital… I uh… kind of jumped off a bridge,” Williams said sheepishly. A snort came from Jedidiah as he looked from Luca to Williams, torn between laughing at his brother’s words and crying over Luca. Jedidiah watched as Williams pulled the phone from his ear as his friend started yelling at him.“Hey, what the fuck are you on about? Williams Roswell, you are such an idiot!” Jackson yelled. “What on earth possessed you do something crazy like that?”.“Luca Knights.” Jedidiah said.“What?”.“Look just meet us at West Barium Centum Hospital,” Williams said. Before his friend could yell at him again some more, he quickly hung
Two Brothers. One Soulmate . Chapter 12: the nightmares were real? . “Williams are you okay?” asked Jedidiah as his soulmate gave him a boxy smile.“Just a bit of a concussion,” replied Williams. The boy was wearing a pair of hospital pajamas and his hair was mostly dry, his wet clothes were in a bag in his hand. “They wanted to put me in a room but I insisted on coming out here to be with you. Gave me some pills for the pain.”“He’s lucky that’s all he got from a fall that high,” said the doctor. “If the bridge had been any higher than a hundred feet both boys would be dead upon impact. Williams here at least knew enough to protect his ribs with his arms. Hello, you may address me as Doctor Jayden.” The man held out his hand to Jedidiah who took it and introduced himself.“We’d be dead depending on how we hit the water there doc,” replied Williams. The doctor just rolled his eyes at him.“If you didn’t have a concussion I’d hit you upside the head for being an idiot,” said Nath

Williams tucked the bags under the bed before flopping down on the other side of Jedidiah. “While I was in the ER I overheard the doctors saying something about Luca’s injuries,” He said. They all looked at him as he sat up and moved behind Jedidiah putting his arms around his stomach and his head on his shoulder. “When we were in the ambulance I saw a whole bunch of bruises on his chest and I was pretty sure they didn’t come from his fall. From what the doctors were saying they had the same idea, possibly abuse. I tried asking but they wouldn’t tell me anything.”“Do you think that’s why Jedidiah was having nightmares about Luca? Because of the abuse?” Saint asked as he rested his elbows on his knees as he sat on the couch next to Harry.“But why would I only have the dreams?” asked Jedidiah. “Why not Williams too?”“Maybe that’s something you can ask the doctor,” said Nathan. “I mean, they should know more a

Not being able to breathe as the pressure around him squeezed his body. His chest hurt and his head was swimming. Jedidiah, he had seen Jedidiah atop the bridge with another boy, who was that boy? He remembered reaching out and trying to catch himself. He remembered them reaching for him. He remembered arms wrapping around him and the warmth they provided. He remembered seeing faces, blurry through his lack of oxygen haze and tears. Voices, there were voices talking to him and without thinking he called out the first name that came to his mind, Jedidiah.“Yes Luca, it’s Jedidiah. Williams is here too.”“Williams?“I’m right here Luca.” He couldn’t help but sob as more tears spilled from his eyes and more warmth was wrapped around him. If he was dreaming he didn’t want to ever wake up. There were more voices and sharp movements making pain shoot thr

One Soulmate .Chapter 15: escalating... elevating problems .“Imagine my surprise to find five messages on my phone this morning informing me that my good for nothing son is in the hospital,” The man sneered.A shiver ran down Luca’s spine and he grabbed the back of Jedidiah’s shirt tightly causing the boy to look at him. “G-get o-out,” He stuttered, eyes wide in horror at his father. Even with his soulmates and their friends here he was still terrified. The boys, seeing his fear sprang into action immediately.“Security!” Harry yelled as he leapt across the bed to stand in front of Williams so there were two on his side between the man and Luca.Jedidiah scooted so he was more in front of Luca as he could without sitting on him and held up his arm in front of his soulmate. Williams also put an arm out in front of Luca and Jedidiah as Jackson and Saint moved closer. Jedidiah fumbled with the nurse call button and hit it several times, figuring that the more times
Two Brothers. One Soulmate .Chapter 16: soft touches and back rubs..Luca didn’t know how long he spent just snuggled up with Williams and Jedi. For the first time in his life, or at least in the past four years, he truly felt at peace and safe as Jedidiah petted his hair while pressed against his back, his soulmate’s warmth seeping into his sore muscles. Williams had his forehead pressed to his as he played with Luca’s fingers, kissing each digit and massaging them with his own. Occasionally the brunet would press a kiss to his nose or forehead making him smile and a couple of times he would try and tickle him lightly to get a small giggle out of him. No words were said between them only sweet, comfortable silence. It wasn’t until nurses came in and fussed at the two boys saying they shouldn’t be smothering Luca and laying on his wires that they pulled away from their cuddle session. Williams protested that they had every right to smother their Luca with love and affection wh
