Erin remained in what position Ajax lay her on bed. She can hear what they're talking about earlier but she chose to remain silent. Riding with Ajax is another factor why she keeps her mouth shut. Most of it was because of what happened before they came here to the mansion.

Flashing of events starts to flood her mind once again, how much she despises that man for giving her such hope and dropping her along the way. The feeling of rejection, shame and being judged. Erin tried to build walls to distance herself from him, but she was so fragile and vulnerable she chose to break her own words.

She starts to think about Ajax. That guy is weirdo, if he's suing Erin for breaking into his house then she's willing to apologize. Her father's man is chasing her and she needed a place to hide, she saw this mansion and welcomed herself in. That was the time Erin remembered how much she's panting. Her legs were numb and worn out. But as time passed, the more she tried to catch his breath, the more energy he lost.

Then Ajax appeared out of nowhere, pinning her on the wall with her neck. Erin thought that was her end, she also wanted to recall what happened and why she lost her consciousness staring at those sinful eyes and drawn in his deep gazes.

Erin heard the door click and it creaked open, revealing a tall man, not Ajax.

She lifted himself in a sitting position while waiting for the man to finally face her. She's been dying to ask who he is and why his friend or brother is trying to get her.

"You're awake. How are you feeling?" he heard the guy ask, slowly walking on her side.

Is it just Erin or that question doesn't suit his face?

"Oh, crap! I'm not meant for such dramas." The guy complain and ruffled his own hair before looking at her. "Hey, say something."

"Sht." Erin said, earning a giggle from the man.

"So, how did you get here?" the guy asked and it confused Erin.

Ajax had been asking her the same question the first time they met.

"Is it really impossible to get in here?" Erin asked and she saw how it drew an amusing expression from him.

"Well, for creatures like us, it is not but for a human like you, yes."

It made her more confused.

"And why are you talking like you're not a human at all?" like Ajax, Erin also finds this guy a weirdo.

"Because I'm not. We're not."

"What do you mean by not? Are you some sort of prince or king living in a more advanced society than us?" Erin wants to be sarcastic, but since this guy is answering her, she'll be gentle in teasing him. At Least she will try.

"Not me but Ajax."

"Yeah, Ajax the weirdo guy. Seriously, why did your friend haunt me down in an alley to freaking kidnap me? If he's mad about me breaking inside his mansion then I'm sorry!" Erin said.

"No, he's not mad. He's curious." the guy said.

"What's your name by the way? It's weird since I've been calling you names in my head." Erin offers, cause yes, she's been calling this guy by whatever name he could think of.

But Erin tilts her head when the guy laughs like she said the funniest joke in the world.

"You're hilariou," The guy still has the guts to slap his hands on his thighs while laughing. When the guy recovered from his laughter, he finally said his name. "I'm Damian."

Erin’s mouth went 'o', for a weird person like him, he had such a good and cute name.

"Is Ajax your brother?"

Damian's face growled in disgust.

"That was the most offending question I heard in my years of living." Damian said, overreacting. "Nope. There is no chance I'm gonna have a brother like him. He's my friend."

"Oh, is that so?" Erin nodded her head.

"So, Erin-"

"Wait, how old are you?" he cutted Damian.

Since they knew each other by names, it would be more appropriate to call each other based on age. Erin isn't a fan of using honorifics.

"I'm ten decades older than you." Damian answered without hesitation.

"Can I hit you?" Erin asks with her sweetest smile, but her fist is itching to hit Damian's head.

"What? I'm not joking! I'm telling the truth!"

Erin calmed herself down. Is this how teenagers communicate nowadays? When she's still a teenager, all she does is admire her origami at home. She worked hard to learn them so she's proud when she finally did dozens of them.

"Okay, I'm 20 years old. I can judge you're still a minor, 3 years younger than me, so call me something respectable." Erin said in a lecturing tone. It made Damian's face confused.

"Thank you for the compliment, but I didn't look like this when I was 17 years old. I'm smaller than you back then."

"Are you offending me, Damian?"

Erin isn't small but she's not tall either, her height is just right. Not too small nor tall. That's what she's been telling herself but Erin knows she's shorter compared to others.

"No, I mean.. Ugh you won't understand me anyway. But sure, I'll call you whatever." Damian said and it drew a smile on Erin’s face.

"Okay I'm starting to like you now." she said in a friendly way.

"Oops, no. You can't like me, I don't wanna end my life. I still have dreams to fulfill, but you can like Ajax all you want. He's free."

"Are you saying something Damian?"

Speaking of Ajax.

There he was, staring blankly at them. When will his expression change? He's leaning on the door Damian left open, talking with his usual tone.

"No, I'm just talking to Erin, right?" Damian said and smiled at her, nodding her head in response.

Ajax furrowed his eyebrows.

"Name?" Ajax asked.

"Yup. I'm older than him so he should respect me." Erin said proudly, dhe heard Damian giggling on her side but he ignored it. "How about you Ajax--"

"Nope." Ajax cut her off, Erin groaned.

He's so stubborn!

"Well, you look older than me so it's okay." Erin said, it sent another laugh to Damian.

That only means Ajax looks older than his actual age. It's to offend him, but only Damian gets her joke.

Erin concluded Ajax is the same age as Damian. It can't be that Damian is befriended by an old man. No offense meant just a hunch.

"What?" Ajax asked.

"That was an insult Ajax! You're slow!"

But Ajax’s expression didn't change, he's still looking at his friend blankly.

"You're no fun." Erin said.

Erin feels more comfortable for the first time with Ajax, maybe because Damian is there to lighten up the atmosphere. But that doesn't change the fact Ajax tried to kidnap him.

"Damian let's go."

"Wait, are you leaving me alone? Can I go back to my apartment now--"

"No. Stay." Ajax said sternly.

"What am I? A dog?" she complained. "Look, I'm sorry for breaking inside your mansion. I just need a place to hide that time and this is my only hope." she explained.

"I know." Ajax said, his few words irritated Erin more.

"Then can I go back now? I'll forget that you tried to kidnap me earlier, besides I owe you my life for getting me away from them." she traded, he smiled with all his best.

"No."

"What do you need—jerk!" Erin yelled when Ajax turned his back and walked to them. "I'm still talking!"

A hand slightly tapped her on her shoulder. Damian got up from his seat.

"Sorry. He's like that. Well, stay here for now, Ajax didn't mind. I'm going." Damian left.

They left Erin all alone in an unknown room, clueless and confused about everything. And she's annoyed.

Erin peaks on a small space in the door. She can't see Damian nor Ajax outside. They must be somewhere in this mansion. She carefully creaked the door open. There was a deafening silence, she saw the same living room she was in the other day. The same old and dusty furniture. Erin must say the ornaments are beautiful, but it's covered in dust so she can't properly look at the details. Erin wandered in the living room, there was a couch and across it was a big chimney.'Who uses this nowadays?' Erin thought, because usually a TV set was found in the living room but Ajax doesn't have any appliances. She then belatedly remembers that there was no aircon in his room she's staying in, it's confusing it feels so cold inside. She can only see wooden furniture made from oak trees. Also, the chimney was made with bricks, a red one. Inside of it was a pile of wood covered in dust."What the heck is wrong with that guy? Does he not know how to clean his own house?" Erin asks herself. She kept

He's also asking himself why he can't let Erin go."Ajax, if she resemble--""She didn't and never will. She's way better than her Ysmael. You can't just compare her to a human." Ajax said, clenching his jaw."I know. I'm sorry." Ysmael is sad to see the same Ajax after what happened. It's been decades and he still can't forgive himself, although he didn't do anything wrong. "Forgive yourself, Ajax.""Not now, Ysmael.""Forgive yourself to get peace of mind.""How? She can't hear me anymore, I can't see her anymore. How will they forgive me if I am the reason why they're not here? I hate myself more.""No one is going to ask for forgiveness because no one did wrong. "Ajax, we're leaving." she heard Ysmael's voice and Ajax turned his head, Ysmael and Damian were standing behind him."I'll be back tomorrow," Damian said, still giggling."Why?" Ajax asks. "You don't have to visit me everyday, I am perfectly fine—""I'm not coming for you. I'm playing with Erin tomorrow. Assuming." Damian nonchalantly said, earning a glare from Ajax."Then why don't you spend the night here?" Ajax asks, turning the topic down."I want to, but I don't have my games with me. I promised her to bring it tomorrow so I'll be back." he said, giggling. "Erin is really fun to be with." Damian added."Damian, wait for me in the car. Quickly." He had this worried yet adoration in his eyes, Erin can understand his worried expression but where's this adoration coming from? "You.." Erin choked on her own. "Ajax.." "I know. I'm sorry for not telling you." she heard him say. "Tell me what?" she whispered, head spinning. Erin can't still process what Ajax told him, what she saw, what is that scene she'd witnessed all about. Why did Ajax look like a monster last night? Ysmael sat on the edge of the bed she's lying on. She grips the comforter tightly, whatever Ysmael is gonna say will blow up her mind eventually. "Remember when Damian said he's ten decades older than you? Miss Erin, he's telling the truth." he slowly spoke while maintaining eye contact with Erin. Like he wants to watch every bit of expression he can elicit from her. "W-What..?" "Are you okay? I heard from Ysmael what happened!" Damian welcomed Erin the time she opened her door. A warm feeling wrapped her heart. It's been so long since someone asked her the question she'd been wanting to hear. "I'm perfectly fine, Damian." she assured him, Damian guided them in the living room which is just across Erin’s room. "Thank God. I forgot to bring my games with me because I was so worried." Erin chuckled, she found it cute how he'd gone hysterical. Then her eyes flickered upstairs. She didn't have a glimpse of Ajax after that night. Ajax always refuses when Ysmael invites him to come down. Erin feels the urge to just barge in his room like what she did to him but it'll only add to the list of her sins to him. She's sorry. "He locked his room and never wanted to leave. It feels like he went back to himself after what happened." Damian murmured, he must've seen Erin staring upstairs. "Can I go and see him?" she asks and it draws a worried look on Damian. "I th

THIS IS FCKING UNBELIEVABLE! Ysmael yelled in his mind, staring at them. Ajax still had his usual straight face while Erin was nagging at him. Scolding him that his breakfast got cold because he took too much time in the bathroom. "This is my first time hearing a vampire wanting to brush his precious teeth! This is hilarious!" Erin said, annoying the hell out of Ajax. Together with him is Damian who continuously eats but looks at them intensely. Like Ysmael, he can't also figure out what happened and the two males suddenly became buddies. Come to think of it, Ajax did not contact him the day after what happened. He isolated himself away from them, he thought it would take him a few weeks before going out again. That's what Ysmael assumed, but Erin managed to drag him out of his cage in a span of twenty four hours considering that Ajax hurt her. Just unbelievable. Erin is probably an irresistible human being. "Ysmael?" Ysmael snapped out of his thoughts, seeing Erin waving her li

"Ugh.." Erin groaned for the nth time when her nose catched another dust and she's about to sneeze. She's cleaning the mansion, as she said to Ajax. Although Erin keeps on nagging how dirty it is, she'll clean this in the end. That's her condition to Ajax and they both agreed. Damian and Ysmael were out in the city, she wanted to come but Ysmael refused. So, she just gave him the list of groceries and personal things she wanted to buy. Erin starts in her room, cleaning it carefully because that's where she'll stay. Then, the living room is almost done and it's already twelve noon. Her stomach growls, Ajax must be hungry too. "I'm starving." Speaking of vampires. Erin turned her head in the stairs, spotting Ajax with his usual look. "Then eat." "I don't know how to cook." "Didn't the vampire drink blood?" Erin asks, although she's not fond of their existence, she has read books and watched movies. They’re famous.. tropes. "We did, but we also need food." Ajax grumbled, walki

The next day, Erin continues cleaning the mansion. She cannot leave single dust laying on the floor as if it might grow. She's been ignoring Ajax since last night for leaving such hickey on her neck. She covered it using a concealer Damian bought. Erin remembered getting a comfortable bath last night because of the products she made Ysmael and Damian bought for her. "Ooh.." she sighs in fulfillment, finishing the kitchen. The once dusty kitchen counter and sink were now clear. She threw out the old spices Erin doubts value anything for Ajax. Even though the refrigerator was full of groceries yesterday, she did not have any trouble cooking. She has everything on his hands right now. "Finally." Erin leaned on a chair, she just finished the first floor of the mansion. She doubts herself if she can clear the upper part. There were too many memories from the second floor. Such a pain. "Are vampires not afraid of crosses?" Erin asks once again, being a fully new vampire made her doubt normal things she does. Ajax shook his head and laughed at her. "I told you, only sinners will be hurt. Though being pure blooded can sometimes have an advantage, that won’t change the fact some of us are sinners." "And by sinners, it means they've done or committed sins willingly without being told." Ysmael appeared beside them, wearing white polo and holding his suit in his hand. "That's a relief, by the way you look good." Erin complimented, scanning his slender yet toned body underneath the fabrics. "I actually liked the materials they used, not too strong and soft. Just right." Ysmael replied, showing his polo. "Where's Damian?" Ajax butted in, he didn’t see the vampire earlier and thought he was with Ysmael. "He's busy greeting everyone coming in. He looks more like the bride's brother than me, I should've competed with him." Erin ran away from them, hunting Damian and was

Their jaws left hanging as soon as Ajax abruptly opened the main door in the hall. There was a lot of blood and a scared group of vampires on the corner. They all look so frightened and scared, their eyes glued to one direction— glued to two moving figures in front. "Erin.." None of it matters for Ajax the moment he met Erin’s gaze. Red liquid oozing out from her mouth and staining her plump lips. There were two sharp things on both sides of her mouth. Her eyes turn crimson but fading when she looks at him. His eyes follow the movements of her small hands as she wipes the remnants of blood on her chin. Calm as she walks down the aisle and makes her way towards Ajax. On his back is Cross, there's more blood on his body compared to Erin. It almost covered his whole upper body while Erin had only on her chin. Was she sucking their blood? Ajax didn’t hesitate for seconds as he dug his fangs deeper. Blood started to flow to his mouth, a metal taste invaded his tongue that he didn’t move to sooth his painful bite. He can feel her knees giving up, her shoulders trembling and her breathing became heavy til she's gasping for air. Her hands start clutching his arms as Ajax continues lapping her blood. It's making her weak and dizzy, her heart slowly beating with blood continuing flowing out her body and another hot sensation coming in from the bite. "You said you can manage? I'm not even halfway drinking your blood." he whispered and felt the goosebumps the way her small hairs touched his lips stained with red liquid. "I-I'm.. I'm.." she breathes, even speaking a few words draining the remaining energy in her body. "Princess, what's the matter?" the old vampire asked. Ajax let go of her in an instant, and she fell to the ground. Everyone gasps seeing her state. "Not my fault." he said calmly, looking down at her loo

Ajax’s flat expression remains as one of filthy and disgusting vampires (according to him) is touching his face. "Can't we just go straight to the ceremony and leave this disgusting cosmetics?" he snarled, eyes boring a hole to now scared regular vampires putting makeup on him. "Ajax, don't scare the makeup artist away. If you can't bear wearing heavy makeup—" "Y'all up for this? Pathetic." he said and rested his back on the chair, facing the mirror. "This is for the preparation, Honey." His ears twitched in endearment but didn’t say anything. "The ceremony isn't like human weddings at all, what are these for?" "Oh, were you that eager to be with me? What happened between you and your human?" he doesn't need to tilt his head just to see her smirking. "Don't mention her." Ajax quietly said, his voice deeper. "Wasn't she the one who pushed you into this? See, she can't be with a complicated creature like you so she chose the only option left. That is leaving you and having

She insisted on having a good talk with him alone, so he did. Ajax doesn't want to but Erin gave him a meaningful and trustworthy look. "You're not cheap like that," she muttered. "And you think you're somewhat expensive? My human is way better than you." "She is just but a mere human, I'm far superior—” "Does it matter? Whether you're one of us or not you're still irrelevant to me." Ajax doesn't have any plan to filter his mouth. It's better to be this rude, he's not pleasing her. The inside is a total wreck, Erin was terrified to see the flat screen TV Damian bought for her, or how all the furniture was broken and seriously can't be used again. Seeing Damian's expression, he's not bothered though, oh and his rich ass. "They've gotten mad this time they broke all here."
