“Mrs. Baranov, what are you planning on doing?”

I eyed Keenan who was eyeing me with the ladder in hand. “I’m painting this ugly ass wall. What else would I be doing? Silly.”

He coughed down the squeak of surprise. “Couldn’t you have requested someone to come and paint it? Professionals and…”

“While Marek is gone? Hell no. They would have had to go through background checks and then a whole slew of people would need to watch over them. They would come in and paint and I wouldn’t be able to do anything but watch from the peep hole. If he even allowed it while he wasn’t here to watch everything.” I put my hands on my hips after I set the ladder down. “No. If I find something I feel like needs to get done, I’ll do it myself for now.”

While I love the story, I can’t quite get around the timeline: she had swelling on her eyes, her wrists were dislocated, hand Broken, ankle not fit for walking on her wedding day which was 1-2 days ago? How come it healed so quickly? She doesn’t feel much pain, but the guys wouldnt say something?
