My eyes lit open. Everything was blur, but thanks to the sun, my eye balls began to dilate, making everything a little bit clearer.
The first thing that caught my eyebeam was the huge clouds hanging in the sky, partially blocking the sun. Then, as I moved my head to the left a little, I saw big trees. They looked beautiful.
It was day. Perhaps just sunrise, I knew this because I could no longer feel the goose bumps over me. The air seemed fairly warm. For a moment or two, I enjoyed the hot air that blew past my skin divergently. It felt good.
Wait, where am I? It was then that I realized my movement. I was on a horse. I took my hands and felt the horse. Almost immediately, I sat up. Then and there, my whole sense became complete and came back to me. The guards, the fight, my parents...
“Where’s Papa? Where’s Mama? Where is this place?” I began to cry as I saw about fifteen to twenty soldiers all strapped with swords marching in an assemble manner non-stop. They looked like they were just returning from a battle because most of the soldiers looked injured and were struggling to walk.
I cried again and attempted coming down from the stallion when suddenly, someone in front of the men halted all the soldiers and began walking towards my direction. He looked very much like my father. He had broad shoulders and was very muscular. His dark hair reflected the sunray. He was one fierce looking soldier I could tell. He looked a little scary, but some part of me liked it. Maybe, just maybe because he looked as reliable as Papa. As I thought of Papa again, I resumed my crying session.
“He’s awake sir”. One of the soldiers beside me called out as his master approached. I was already guessing that this was the Beta.
“Young man” he started as soon as he reached the horse. I felt taller than he was because I was on a horse. His voice still sounded like Papa’s. Deep, yet soothing and calm. He continued,
“Papa and Mama are dead. Your Alpha has killed them. You are coming with us to see your new Alpha.” Those words sounded like the pain I felt when I hit my head on the ground the previous night. This man hid nothing about last night from me. He told me everything plainly. But that was no way to pass a message to a kid, was it?
“No! Papa and Mama are there, they are not dead, and I want to go back and meet them. Please, take me back home. I want to meet my parents. Please…!” I began to cry one more time, but this time, I wasn’t crying like a child. I cried the same way mother had cried the last time she stared into my eyes.
I hopped down from the horse, falling to my knees. Immediately, I stood up crying calling mama and papa as I ran back into the bush.
One of the men followed me and grabbed me by my waist like I was a single flea. I struggled to free myself, but to no avail. These men were way stronger than I was. There was no going back. Or was there?
I bit the soldier hard on his hand, leaving him to scream a little. I was blinded with grief and pain. I was either seeing mama and papa or nothing, I convinced myself as I cried running back into the bush.
“Nathan I said stop!” The supposed Beta now demanded in a commanding tone. His voice this time wasn’t funny. It was followed with a loud growl. My father had taught me to respect my elders, especially those in higher position, like the Beta.
I stopped running and just stood backing the men. I was shock, dumbfounded. Did he just mention my name? There was no way I heard that right. How’d he know my name? I questioned in amusement to myself.
“Your dad was one of the strongest men we ever had. He was the best brother in my life too. It is his time to rest son.” The Beta ended, his voice now breaking as if wanting to cry.
What? He knew my father? How? Was this all planned? Is he really my uncle? My eight years old brain could not process what this was all about, but I was damn certain that I was to begin a real life. A new life. Probably like the one my may have father lived here many years ago.
I turned to look back at the Beta who was already shedding drops of tears. He gave the command and his guards brought a big box. Big enough to contain two people. It looked just like a coffin. Oh, wait, it was a coffin.
I ran speedily over the box as one of the soldiers slowly opened it. What I saw there was not good. No! Not god at all. In fact, it was agonizing.
Papa and Mama lay in the box helpless, unable to move their bodies. Their eyes were closed. They didn’t seem to be breathing. Blood and deep cuts were covered all over the two of them. I couldn’t believe my eyes. My parents, my both parents were dead!
The Beta approached me, bent over and grabbed me to himself, hoping to comfort me. My whole bones were weak, and I couldn’t even feel the hug.
Again, he gave the command, and there and then I was about to witness a tormenting scene. The burial of my parents. Everyone’s face grew dim as they laid the coffin eight feet below the ground. One of the soldiers gave me a flower, and I walked towards my parents’ grave and placed in on it.
It happened so quickly. The Beta again gave the command, and the soldiers re-assembled in marching formation, walking in two adjacent lines.
I didn’t drag, neither did I scream nor yell. I just followed them like a corpse living as a puppet. I only never stopped looking back at that spot where my parents were buried. All I could do was weep, but not wail.
My thoughts flew back to when our Alpha used to kill other people too, right there under my nose. It was brutal, painful and always a grief-stricken day.
I suddenly felt a different kind of feeling. One that I had never felt before. It was a strange feeling of anger and revenge. These feelings were new to me, but I could swear that they were insanely strong, and I was willing to die just to act on them.
Soon, we approached the Kingdom. I said my last goodbye to mama and papa, hoping the wind would deliver my message to them.
We came walking past houses and shops and marketplace. I could see young pups. Many of them were born werewolves I thought to myself.
Soon, we got to the pack house. It was finally time to meet the new Alpha. Many questions running through my subtle mind. Would he be as wicked as my former Alpha? Would he treat me an outcast, considering I was an Omega?
As we entered the gate, I saw things and things. Many, many young children my age engaging in extreme training. They all followed their tutor as he swiped his hands and legs through the air in diverse directions.
At my left hand side were older kids doing even more intense fighting training. Were they all actually preparing for an upcoming war? I asked myself. Kids my age were working in fields and fixing chariots and stables. Some serving the wicked King and his cruel old Beta back in my pack.
“Welcome to the Leviathan Moon Pack. You will now go in and meet your new Alpha. He will tell you what to do. Don’t get him pissed, because he will take it hard on you boy.” My supposed uncle warned before he took me inside the appalling hall. The King’s Palace.
The first thing that caught my sight was big terrifying artworks and sculptures that my little brain couldn’t really explain to me. I saw different massive weapons hanging on the walls. ‘This man means death’, I thought to myself.
I suddenly stopped as I approached the Alpha. There was me, a ten years old pup standing right in front of a new Alpha hoping that my standing ovation doesn’t break any of the rules.
I bowed my head as soon as we exchanged glances. He was sure a mighty man, one could tell. His looks were terrifying. But somewhere deep inside of me felt that he was a good person.
He had some paper work he was working on. Someone was standing in front of him, giving him some papers that contained some information. The person looked familiar. I have seen these shoulders somewhere before.
“That’s all for now sir. More information would be available by tomorrow.” Said the voice. By now, I was certain that I couldn’t be wrong. I know this voice and I was very certain of that. I just needed to see the faaacee….
I knew it. I knew I couldn’t be wrong. There in front of the Alpha was the man. My old Beta from my former pack. The Wicked Old Beta.
I wasn’t sure of what to do as he walked out, but I was sure of one thing. Exposing this cruel Devil for who he truly is.
“Step forward young man” The Alpha demanded as soon as his secretary left, leaving just me, the Beta and the Alpha alone. I was supposed to be scared, but somewhere inside of me remained calm, assuring me that I would be just fine. Could it be my inner wolf? I immediately looked away as the Beta Sullivan walked past me, covering my face so he doesn’t see me. I was pretty sure he wouldn’t even recognize me though. I cursed him under my every breath, remembering how he whipped my father and assaulted my mother. Made fun of them while I hid in the bushes. My father vowed not to ever allow me come face to face with this wicked man. But here he was, fooling everyone in this pack. Father’s words of vengeance finally began to make sense to me. “What would you do if you had a sword in your hand and your old Alpha Blake and Beta Sullivan were tied up to a chair? Tell me, what would you do Nathan?” Alpha asked suddenly interrupting my thinking as soon as the secretary left. I was take
I stared as Sullivan and the other man greeted Beta, having a few conversations. There was no way I could hide from this man, hoping he does not know me. I had already swore in my mind that if he was my teacher, I would stab him and run away. Sullivan brought out some pieces of paper, signed off some documents and hopped on his horse to leave. A sigh of relief came to my heart as it happened, remembering that he was just a secretary here. “Let’s go Nathan.” I looked at my uncle, he wasn’t the one talking. I looked at the lame man. He still wasn’t the one talking. I finally stared at Sullivan as he stretched his wicked hands out to me smiling his usual evil laughter which I knew no one but me saw. I didn’t reach out my hand in return. I would rather die here, or go back to take the blood oath. But going with this chameleon was out of the question. I stepped back and watched as he pulled back his hands, wondering why I did not want to go with him. “What do you think you
I paused there for a bit and watched what he wanted to do. Should I run? I thought of fighting him, but my wolf just laughed at me. It literally laughed at me? What? I could now hear my wolf? My brain rebooted quickly and immediately, I picked up my bucket and began to run. My movement was very slow because I had a bucket of water in my hand. I ran and ran and ran, not looking back, until I came to back to the well. I looked back, but I didn’t see no one pursuing me. I was now scared. First, I saw Sullivan as Teacher Tech, then I had a nightmare of Blake. And now, I can literally see Alpha Blake’s wolf again. Did my old pack conspire to hunt me? I was very sure that he doesn’t know me. I thought of going to tell Tech, but again, he would see me as a crazy person. So, I twisted the question. “Is there another stream around here? That one is haunted” I lamented to the lame man watching as he fixed something. He didn’t look back. He just continued what he was doing. This ma
“Come on, let’s go. You alright?” I was in fact seeing things again. But this, this was scary. I had to do something before anything bad happens. Tech noticed that I had just seen yet another vision, yet he simply remained calm and nodded his head. I bet he must begin to suspect Sullivan by now. Maybe. I followed the girl and took her to my room. I was so excited to have her here with me. “So, how have you been…?” “Nathan. I’m Nathan” I helped her complete her words. “Okay. How have you been Nathan? It’s been two years. You look different. Guess your teacher has been doing you well. Whomever goes through Mr. Walt’s training comes out a beast.” She chuckled. “Hold on, his name is Walt?” I was surprised. “He said to call him teacher Tech.” I knew his name sounded weird. “Well, I’m Abigail. I think we can be friends. We come visit Walt once in every year. He and my papa are friends.” “You mean Beta Sullivan? He..He’s your father?” “Sullivan? No. my father is not even
Was this? Was I? No, impossible. Just impossible. I wasn’t eighteen yet, I wasn’t even close to eighteen. I was still a lad. Noo! I screamed at every moment of breakage. My fingers began to grow insanely long. But the pain was excruciatingly painful. Father told me that these would happen. I’ve seen many teens shift. All of them were eighteen or more. Some were seventeen. But this, this was flabbergasting. The breakage went on for several minutes. I could swear that it was more than ten minutes now. Mine was taking more time to shift. Would my wolf be stubborn? Was that why? The pain went on and on and on. Hairs began to grow from my body as I expected. My teeth began to extend, even my tongue. My toe nails extended too. The whole process made my clothes tear into shreds. My vision suddenly changed and I saw everything as a threat. Yes, I became more aggressive. Maybe it was the pain, I couldn’t tell. Finally, after about like thirty-minutes or more of what seemed to be a
FIVE YEARS LATER “Hey, you’re set?” Tech asked as he banged the door, but quickly rushed back in to take his case and some other stuff. This was it finally. The seven years had ended like they were never here. As I sat down on a log of wood beside the house, all I could do was think beyond imagination. Tech did bring out the beast in me. Seven years in this forest all alone. No peers, no friends, just me and nature doing some bonding. I could now hear farther every single bird chirp. Somehow, I could now communicate with them. I would finally go back to the city to take the blood oath and be recruited as a soldier. I’m guessing I would be the strongest soldier in Leviathan Park. Over the years, I had gained abs, thick muscles, stamina and the best fighting skills. Tech also did train my wolf. Although I was now seventeen, I knew what I was capable of. I would soon get to avenge my parents’ death, I would soon be reunited with Abigail and expose who Sullivan is. Maybe I may j
I completely closed the space between me and Tech as I ran swiftly towards him and uncle Simon. I touched my uncle's face trying wake him up, all just to comfort myself. But nothing worked. My uncle had died. Tears just rolled freely from my eyes. I didn't know Simon much, but what I do know is that seeing him remind me of papa. His bravery and all. Now, Simon was died. Was I cursed to suffer? I thought extremely when I saw teacher Tech's legs move a little. Tech's condition was no good. I knew I needed to do something quickly or else, it would mean loosing yet another person. I wouldn't let that happen. I took off my bag and began to search hastily if I could find anything that would be of help. Maybe the nectar that Tech taps from the tree. I scattered the whole bag, but nothing medicinal was in it. "Ugh…" Teacher Tech finally gained little consciousness. He was a strong werewolf. I knew he would survive. This I thought. "Sneak into… sneak into Blake's office. There's a
I woke up feeling rather queer. My whole body ached and my bones pained like hell too. I wondered what had happened few hours ago. It was late in the night. "You're up." A lady's voice cleared my blur vision. The voice sounded farmiliar. So, I managed to pull myself up from the floor where I lay. I finally sat upright still moaning. It was as though I was injected with some kind of weakening dosage. Yes! That was it! My wolf nodded in agreement. Soon, I was able to recall all that had happened. I looked all the way up to the lady standing at a corner fixing some bullets into her gun. She looked so farmiliar. It was dark, I could not recognize her well. Her hair's wave, her lips, and she looked very much like a fighter. Aha, it was her. Abigail standing right I'm front of me. I couldn't believe how big she had grown. She looked very beautiful in her wavy hair that curled round on her shoulders. It was always something to stare at. "What did they do to Tech and Simeon? Tel
I felt pleased and I took a deep breath. Despite the fact that Blake had been under control for a long time, he remained the wicked Alpha I ever knew, asides Alpha Eugene who left his people in time of war. Jane screamed loudly. Her pitch was way too high that it frightened Sullivan. "It's now your time to die. Now, I will rule the pack. You're no Alpha, you're just a child, as helpless as your father" Sullivan grinned evily. Those words cut me so deep. "Helpless? My father? Helpless?" My eyes flared up. I must admit, I had a lot of anger issues, even my wolf told me. "He couldn't protect his wife, not even his dear son, now, they're six-feet below the ground, and what did you do? You ran away child, for seven years. "If you had been the Alpha you claim to be, where have you been all these years while Blake suffered the people. Huh?" Sullivan faced the crowd trying to convince them. At this point, I knew something was wrong. Sullivan was only intent on makin
Everyone paused in alarm. Sullivan was also shocked. His daughter was dead? Was this even his daughter? Doubt began to rise about their relationship. No father, no father at all would treat his daughter in this brutal manner. Yet, he just stood there besides Blake saying nothing. I shifted back, then I turned around to look at the Alpha as he sat down back on his seat undisturbed. I quickly ran over to Abigail. The bullet went through her chest. I bent my body over her and tried to wake her up. Her heart beat had stopped. She was not responding to any of my movements neither did she give me any hope. She had died. Abigail had died. It sounded funny to me, maybe because it wasn't even possible. At least to me. "Hey, get up, it's time to finish what we have started. Look! Victory is just a step away my love" I tapped on her face. Everyone, including the Alpha stared at me blantly, no one said a word. "Come on, you won't leave me Abigail, will you?" I began to sweat
I still didn't move an inch. I simply stood there and watched as he walked swiftly towards me. As soon as the room has enough light to see, I saw the beauty of the chamber. It looked more ancient than I could think of. It was nearly arranged and had beautiful but ancient artifacts that still maintained an enchanting feel. I looked round and kept admiring the chamber. It was worth staring at. Then, I saw a big framed work hanging on a wall above a long table that looked like a communion table. But it was covered with a big cloth, so, the content was not visible. On the table were smaller candles that brimmed brightly as Sullivan lit them up, so it gave the cloth right above it an epic voyage look. "Wondering what's behind that cloth huh? Sometimes, what we see isn't always what we expect" Sullivan said and walked towards the frame. He looked at me smiling and then grabbed hold of the cloth and pulled it down. "There, the true King of Leviathan Moon pack, your father!"
I growled in excruciating pain. I saw my life leaving me. "It's wolfsbane. Move back let me handle this." The lady ran towards me shoving Abigail aside. She brought out a lighter and in no time, she had lit up a wood she grabbed nearby, then she handed the lighter to Abigail carelessly. "Hold still." She spoke and then placed the fire directly to the injury. I immediately let out a loud yell. The pain would kill an ordinary person, maybe. Thanks to Tech. I shut my eyes when she had finished. The both of them just stared at me as I healed slowly. "Aren't you the Alpha's daughter? What are you doing here?" Abigail mustered up courage to ask. "Hi. I'm Jane. Yes. The Alpha's daughter. I felt that Nate here was in danger, so I had to come save him" "Felt? Nate? You know him?" Abigail turned to look at me. I was still exhausted, so my eyes were partly shut. Yet, I saw drops of tears flowing from Abigail's eyes. She had already understood what was going on, s
"Is this what I'm thinking?" I asked my wolf quietly. "Yes. She is the Alpha's daughter, and she is your mate. Facts that cannot be changed" he chuckled. I watched her as she walked up to her father. Her gown rubbed the ground with each step she made. Truthfully and frankly, she was beautiful. I could feel the bond getting stronger. I got lost in thought that I didn't realize when Blake spoke. "She is my daughter. The only child I have" he spoke. He then stood up from his chair and began to walk towards me gently but firmly. He was a huge man. In his mid 30's. He was muscular and had a fearful eyes. His walking steps were slow and steady, making one feel chills run down he spine. One could never know his next move. I was still chained up and could barely move. I knew within me that this wouldn't be much of a struggle to break free, but I flowed. When he finally got to my position, he leaned his head on my shoulder, his thick beared resting on my torso
The ride back to the Ardent Lion's pack, my old pack was quite a short one. In no time, we arrived the big city filled with thousands of persons, or a million. I stared at the watchtower as soon as they passed the suburbs and fabourgs right on the outside of the wall. A fierce man stared back at me, watching my every move. I wasn't not scared a bit. I was infact agitated. We came walking past these big mansions and then smaller ones. Virtually everyone had a something to sell in his house. As we walked past the gently curving streets, supplimented by a network of hidden lanes and courtyards and then to the market place. Frankly, the city was indeed beautiful. Papa had never let me have access to the city or go anywhere near the pack house. We the slaves who worked in Blake's farm stayed outside the city in tents. That was where I was born. I could see many people being flogged and treated like dogs. They were either an Omega or a captive. It was just li
l held the girl's mouth firmly. But it was to no avail. They had barged in and saw the three of us standing upright in a corner of the small room. "Haha" they both laughed jointly. "Did you really think you would be able to hide from us? Eyy?" One of the guards mockingly said, mimicking Abigail's voice. They sure intended to instill fear into us. They both shifted quickly and began walking towards us with extensively wide shafts in their hands. I'm guessing they want to beat us? Ha, I scoffed! In a gainsay, I quickly looked at Abigail and began to shift too. I allowed my wolf take full control. He had surely been outraged to his highest peak and wanted nothing but to fight at this moment. "Tech's training is about to be put into an intensive use" my wolf said. What?? I shoved Abigail and the little girl to another dimension then my wolf growled loudly at the two other wolves. The two of them attacked instantaneously, leaping from initial point and headed straight for
