더 보기I roll over and stare at the wall as I hear mom yell at me for the 100th time, it seems. "Raine Sullivan, you get up!" I hear come from downstairs once again as I finally sit up.
"God mom, I am up!" I holler downstairs as I hop out of bed and walk into my bathroom, glancing into the mirror at myself. My jet black hair compliments my hourglass figure as it falls around my hips, and my hazel eyes sparkle with specks of blue. As a werewolf, it's easy to stay fit. I'm constantly running through the woods, and as a member of the Blue Blood pack, I tend to get my workouts at the battlegrounds. Even though I look nothing like my brothers, polar opposites to be exact, I favor my mom and sister some, with our hair color being almost identical with nothing else being similar.
I cut the water on, strip myself out of my sleeping clothes, throw them in the hamper, and lay my towel out with my new clothes. Once the water gets hot enough, I step inside and let the water run over me for a second. It was relaxing and woke me up, helping with my tense muscles. Next, I grabbed my shampoo and started slathering it throughout my hair, and after rinsing, I did the same with the conditioner. I finished up my shower and cut the water off. I grabbed the towel and dried off, getting out of the shower. I slipped on my panties and bra and grabbed my ripped jeans, with holes right below my thighs and knees. I put them on and examined my shirt for a second. It was a white t-shirt with a picture of the city landscape, Brooklyn, I believe. I threw it on and walked out of the bathroom. I walked beside my bed and slipped on a white pair of socks with my favorite white vans.
I huffed a bit and walked out of my bedroom to go downstairs, slowly walking down the stairs to the kitchen. I walked to the counter, grabbed my bowl of oatmeal and glass of orange juice, and walked over to the table. I sat beside my mom, Florence Sullivan, the Luna or leader of the Blue Blood pack, and my sister Mia. I took a bite of food and then a sip of my drink as I looked up and seen them both staring at me. "Well, birthday girl, what are you doing with your day?" My mom said, grinning at me. I think I might have skipped the part where today is my birthday, and my mom and Dad always go crazy. I groaned a bit and smiled, "I guess school comes first, and then I'm not sure. A nap sounds amazing." I reply. My sister Mia giggles and speaks up, "Aren't you always tired?" I smack the back of her head playfully and stand up, putting my finished bowl of oatmeal in the sink, and finish off my orange juice. "Why do ya ask mom?" I say as I walk to beside the stairs and grab my bookbag. I jokingly glare at her waiting on her answer.
"Well, I know you said not to go too crazy for your birthday, but would I really be the best mom in the world if I didn't throw you a party? Actually, don't answer that. Your Dad and I are throwing you a party. So at least try not to stay out late." I huffed a bit and looked at her, and then Mia. "Well, if you say so." I retorted and started walking towards the door and opening it. "When is this so-called party?" I said, leaning my head back into the doorway. "7 O'clock sharp, and don't be late. I know how you are." Mom says, shooting me a wink. I laugh a bit and shut the door. I walk down the front steps and hit the button on my keys to unlock my car. I would walk if I weren't always running behind. The car was a gift from my Dad, the Alpha of the Blue Blood pack, a Dodge Charger that's speed usually kept me from being late. I threw my phone and book bag into the passenger seat and got into the driver's seat, starting the car.
I backed out of the driveway and started driving. I turned the music up and tried to get to school as quick as I could, without dying, of course. I got there in about 10 minutes. I attend the college here on the packs land, Sullivan Community College, Home of 'The Mighty Griffins'. Isn't it ironic? A bunch of wolves with a Griffin of all things as a mascot. My great grandfather founded the college many years ago. He wanted to focus on more than just physical strength. Hence where I now attend college.
I parked my car, gathered my things, got out, shut up, and locked my car. I was ready to start walking in as I heard no one other than the great Emma Washburn, my best friend. "Hey! Wait up, wait up, I said!" She yelled, running to me. I slowed down and waited until she caught up. "Today is a huge day. It's the biggest day in the world!" She practically screamed in my ear. "Just because you found your mate on your 19th birthday does not mean I will find mine!" I slightly raised my voice, glaring at her.
She stopped in her tracks and gasped. "Be positive. I'm sure you know about the party by now! I am almost certain you will find your mate today." She said and smiled. I smiled back and felt someone walk around me. It was Rod, Emma's mate. She met her mate on her 19th birthday, and they have been happily together for a year. I mean, he is her other half. "Hey Raine," he said, grinning. "Hurry up and find a mate so we can go on double dates, and I can tell all your super awkward and embarrassing stories." I flipped him the finger and kept walking. Emma spoke up from behind me, "I'm sure all will be fine. You're my ride right, you've got a party to attend, and I've got a party girl to help get ready!" I looked back, hollering, "Sure, meet you after class!" and entered the building. Ready to get class over with.
My final class just ended, and I was exhausted, but I'm sure there was no time to sleep. It's already 4 o'clock, and I still have to meet up with Emma and get home. I walked out of the classroom, searching through my bag for my phone. I called Emma, trying to find out where she was. She answered with a simple, "Behind you." I looked behind me, seeing her, and hung up the call. She caught up, and we walked out of the college together, both clearly wore out from all the school work. Such a fantastic start to my day. We got to my car and got in, I started it up once again, and we left the parking lot. The soft music in the background, quiet, a complete difference from the jamming I had done this morning.
I pulled into the driveway, and Emma's and my eyes widened at the house that was being decorated head to toe. "You ready?" was all Emma said, neither of us looking away from the house. "This might be bigger than last year's party." I softly said. Maybe this party won't be as bad as I make it out to be.
We let Jacob and Katie spend some time together. Jacob told her all about the guys saving everyone. He told her about the new house they were staying in and how everyone was friendly. It almost broke my heart when he told her they wouldn't be cold anymore that they could have a blanket. I learned about what had happened and how they had found the kids. Julie checked on Katie one more time and saw that everything was healed, and she was free to go to the house with the other kids. It took Jacob a few minutes to get her to agree to teleport with Chase. Before she was getting ready to leave, she thanked Julie for helping her. When Julie explained that I had healed her, she ran up and hugged me around my waist tight. She did not have to say anything. I felt the tear as it left my eye. "You will be ok now, honey," I told her, and she smiled at me as she walked back to Chase and Jacob to go to her new home."We will have to try and find the kid's homes and how they ended up the
I rush out of the room to my mother. I have to be there for her. She lost her mate again. I enter the room, and she is lying on the bed with Mia in her arms. I lay on the other side and wrap my arms around mia and mom. Mia is squished in the middle with her arms wrapped around mom. She starts to cry harder when I wrap my arms around her. Mom whispers that it's ok in her ear as she rubs her hair down. I had forgotten how powerful being a mother is. My mom has shown me my whole life. Here she is. She has lost her mate and still holds it together to comfort her child. I am lucky to have a woman like her as my mother. What the Goddess said plays in my head. She is right. She is the one that made my mother, and she is strong. She has endured so much, but she should not have to keep enduring like she is. I look over at mom, and my eyes meet hers. They are red and swollen from crying, and it breaks my heart even more. She gives me a small smile. "I am so sorry, mom" That Is all I can m
Levi,Luca walks off without us talking, and I know what he is feeling. I don't think Barrett deserves a proper funeral, but Chase and his family should be the ones to decide that. I did it for them, not Barrett. "We need to go get the kids and Emma from the treehouse," I tell Chase. I head to the house to get some of the women to get areas ready for the children. We have an orphanage, but it has not been many children there. With not many children, we didn't have but one woman who ran it, and she will need more help with this many children. It doesn't take long, and the women have gone to set up the orphanage, and we are headed to get the kids now that everything is safe and they have somewhere to stay. "Does Rod know that Emma has been here at the treehouse?" Chase asks as we make our way to the treehouse. "Yeah, he is already there and waiting on us," I tell him as we continue. I could hear laughing as we got closer. That's a good sign, I thin
Luca,The rage that came over me as I watched my father drop to the ground and his packlink snap was unbearable. The howl that left my body and the rest of the pack snaped something else in me. I could see Raine as I started to make my way to Barrett. He would pay for what he has done. I felt Levi on the other side of me, and his rage was as deep as mine. We both in sink went after our prey. I let my wolf take over. We take the bottom half of him while Levi takes the top. I sink my teeth into his leg and rip. I feel the blood enter my mouth, and I relish in it. I hear the bone snap and feel a force holding him there. As he hits the ground, I see Levi has ripped his throat out. I look over when I hear a commotion.Raine is walking, but flames surround her. I shift back and stand to watch. There are flecks of black in the fire. She is shooting flames at every person that is here with Barrett."We have to stop her," Chase says from beside me. I look back, and eve
I lock eyes with each of my mates as I look over the yard. I see the look of fear cross Chase's face as I am about to look away. But, I already know what is happening before it happens. Barrett has his arms around my chest again. I throw my head back, but this time, I don't connect. "Did you really think that would work twice?" He says in my ear. I look forward and see all my mates headed toward us. I am lucky to have these three incredible men by my side. I notice they stop moving toward us, and I feel my body being shoved forward by Barrett's body. His grip on me loosens, and I spin to see him turning and reaching for someone. They must have pushed him from behind, making him release me. Before I could manage to grasp what was going on, I saw who it was, my mom. I go to grab Barrett to keep him away from her, but he is faster than me. He grabs her, and they both vanish again. I hear a loud growl from behind me, but I already know who it is. Bastien knows his mate is in the han
The noises were coming from everywhere. I rushed toward the front of the house and to the front door. There were people in wolf form already. I stopped on the porch looking around. I saw a few of Kane's people fighting in human form, and they were holding their own well. Pack members were fighting alongside them. In the distance, I noticed a few warlocks headed toward the house. They raised their hands, and I saw blue sparks light up above their skin. I used my powers and pulled all the big rocks from the yard and hurled them in their direction. The two on the outside jumped to the sides, but the one in the middle was hit.I rushed down the steps and around the house. It looks like they came in from all directions. Is this what Barrett had planned all along? As I went further around the side, something hit me, and I was thrown forward and slid. Whatever hit me felt like a jolt of electricity. I rolled to the side, looking behind where I had been running. I saw a woman with long b
I hated the thought of them leaving, but we had to know if they were hiding Bastien and Emma at his base. There is still a lot that we can do here to get ready. Mom and Mia make their way over to me, and I am glad I could use their help in deciding what to do. "Hey, I am going to head back out and get all the warriors I have with me to move to the back yard and start doing some training exercises. Is that ok with you?" Kane says from behind me, catching me off guard. "Yeah, I think that is a good idea," I say, but mom cuts me off."I think the warriors from the pack and your group should do some training together. This will help since we may all be fighting together." Mom says, looking between Kane and me."I agree with mom. We will let the pack members know, and you can all train on the training grounds in the back.""Sounds like a plan," Kane says as he smiles at Mia and heads outside."So, what exactly is going on between you two?" Mom asked Mia precisely what
LeviWe made it into the house with no trouble, which is a little surprising. I stayed behind Joseph and watched behind us. The house is large. It is probably bigger than my house. What is weird is it seems too empty. Where are the hundred or more people that he has here? We slip down a passage that I am assuming leads to the basement. I still don't see anyone, and something really seems off."This way," Joseph says and heads down another hallway. I catch dad's scent, so I know they are here. Why is no one else here? We get to the end, and there is a massive door. We both put our ears to the door and listened, but I didn't hear anything. Joseph holds his fingers up to count till three, then we both push on the door to open it. I almost got sick at what I saw. Dad is strapped to the wall with silver cuffs around his wrist and ankles. There is a silver collar around his neck. I didn't hear him because they had him gagged. Emma is attached to the wall beside him in th
ChaseThis is the first time I have been to Barrett's place in a while. I try to stay away unless I have to. Joseph has been the one to do the spying and watch his numbers. Finally, we all gear up and are ready to head out. Levi seems like he is ok with me, but I am unsure about Luca. He seems to be more shut off. I know the way I came into the picture was not the best, but I don't want to cause Raine any hardship with either of them. Joseph comes walking up, letting me know he is ready."We need to pop in a little away and go in on foot," Joseph says, and he is right."Yes, I was planning on it. We need to get in and find out what we can and get out. Barrett may even expect us to do something like this. With him having both of them, he will have more security too, I would think." I tell Joseph. "Yes, and I don't want to cause any more issues and get back here as soon as possible, so let's get this over with," Luca says as he and Levi come walking up to
