Chapter Forty Eight

(Lena's POV)

I cried myself to sleep that night, even if there were no nightmares.

"Where are you taking me?" I questioned Damien as he led me to the library.

"Last night I was wrong; you need to see this.".

I didn't really tag Damien as the reading type, but there was something about the way he navigated the huge library; he had been here before—countless times, now it was like he had already memorized each route.

He stopped before a shelf that was very similar to the others, then picked out a book, scrolling through the pages, then he stopped at a page.

"This was what I found, but I didn't think it was anything then," he said, handing the book to me.

There was a picture on the page of a female with a star-shaped tattoo. Staring at it, I felt like I had seen this somewhere.

"Do you know what that is?" Damien asked

"It seems so familiar... like I had seen it somewhere, but I can't place where," I answered.
