Author's POV
" Sure, mom........hmm.....yes mom......okay mom........yeah....ok..... '' Anbu was nodding her head for whatever her mom was instructing her through.
Yes, after finding no other option, Anbu decided to stay back for a while until the rain stopped. Rishi was sitting on the couch looking at Anbu who was easily mending up a story to her mom.
Her big eyes were rolling here and there while convincing her mom that she is staying back at one of her friend Swati's home due to rain. Putting her thumb nail in between her lips, she bites her nail out of nervousness of getting caught by her mom.
" Yeah sure I'll inform you before leaving Swati's home. ``After convincing her mom with a perfect mend up lie, Anbu ended the call leaving a long sigh.
Convincing her mom is one of the hectic jobs for her, she usually doesn't like to lie but what can she do when her strict parents didn't let any other options for her. Meeting her own fiance before marriage is like a big sin for her family.
Her orthodox family has taken a toll on her from childhood itself, all she wants now is getting out of that house as soon as possible. She loves her family, yet being controlled for every single thing is something she wants to get out of it. It was perfect timing when her parents informed her about Rishi's alliance. At first she was a little bit perplexed when it came to marriage and commitment but after meeting Rishi all her worries and fears about marriage flew away. She was attracted to his mindset. Yes, she liked the way he thought About things and surroundings. It's Just something different from others. Slowly she started to have an infatuation with him. Finally she realised he's the one for her, and without wasting time she said 'yes' for the marriage.
Probably, every girl thinks that after marriage everything will eventually set up. Does that happen ?
Throwing her phone beside on the couch, she held her head in her both hands and smiled recalling their cozzy moment a few minutes ago.
Rishi was noticing her sudden changes of expression.
The way she lied to her mom was so adorable, she looked like a kid when she pouted and tried to convince her mom. How can a person look cute while lying ? He thought and smiled for himself. This feels new for him even though he experienced all these long ago, with someone else.
Not wanting to go in the past , Rishi shook his head and decided to divert his mind.
" So, what's next ? " He voiced out with a blank mind.
Anbu put her hands on her lap from her head and looked at him with a stable facial expression.
" ummm..... honestly i don't know " Anbu trailed off.
Their coffee date has already been completed, so there's no chance for another coffee. It's still past ten in the morning, and they're stuck inside his apartment due to storming rain. Although Rishi never complains abouts it nor Anbu. Because both were wishing for a moment like this where they can spend more time with each other without any interruption. And finally it happened.
" What about movies ? '' Rishi suggested being unsure of her answer. Watching a movie together, under the spell of drizzling rain would be a nice adventure for both of them.
" Sounds good, but which one ? I mean thriller, action, romantic or comedy ? '' Anbu asked him back, she is ok with any sort of movie as much as he's with her.
" Well, thriller one is okay, as we already had our own romantic version a few minutes ago " instant regard was evident on Rishi's face after blurring out his thoughts loudly.
He wanted to slap his mouth, but he didn't as it would hurt him. Ouch!!
Anbu looked at him with a wide open mouth shyly. " You're so embarrassing Rishi, " she whined, feeling awkward when he mentioned their kiss encounter as a romantic version.
" i was just so ummm blank minded that i .... forgot to use a filter on my mouth " Rishi stammered Looking here and there except her.
Anbu nods her head as she can understand that he didn't say that willingly.
" umm..... Actually.... I'm sorry for making you feel awkward, hmmm never mind let me find some thriller movie " mumbling in urgency Rishi stood up and went to his room to bring movie DVDs. Anbu was holding back her laughter after seeing him vanish like that. She self noted their moment as cute one.
In a 21 century where people prefer N*****x and A****n for movies, Rishi still couldn't get over the satisfaction of watching a movie via DVDs. It reminisces about his childhood when his whole family used to sit in front a black and white TV to watch a movie through DVD's.
After a few minutes Rishi came, and got engrossed in playing a movie, meanwhile Anbu got up and went to the kitchen to bring some snacks. She actually looked for popcorn as it would be a perfect combo of a movie with popcorn. But when she didn't find any popcorn she simply took some chocolate cookies and went back.
Anbu sat on a couch leaving space for Rishi. After playing the movie Rishi came and sat on the other side of the couch. Both smiled at each other and looked at the TV screen.
" Which movie ? " Anbu asked, still looking at the screen, before the movie title appeared. Rishi voiced out in excitement " Veronica ".
" Hmm " Anbu hummed, she has already watched it many times yet she didn't say anything as the movie doesn't matter at all, what matters is with whom she is watching.
Anbu was sitting on one side of the couch and Rishi was seated on the other side of the couch.
Maintaining a safe distance ? Maybe.
It was a few minutes of movie, both were engrossed in the interesting scene. Anbu was almost sitting on the edge of the couch in curiosity.
Her eyes were stuck to the tv screen, but suddenly her gaze shifted to Rishi who was now sitting just beside her, leaving an inch space between them.
She was amused by seeing him taking initiative steps, at least he's trying. For now that's enough for her. Shifting her gaze at tv, she resumed watching the movie.
It was an interesting scene where the ghost appears. Both were waiting for the ghost to show up, but suddenly tv went off along with lights and ac.
" What the ...... '' Rishi controlled his tongue before blurring the f* word in front Anbu.
" I think there must be some issues due to Rain " Anbu doubted.
" Let me check " Rishi mouthed and went to check the main switch.
Anbu took her phone and scrolled through some random posts, till Rishi returned.
After a few minutes Rishi came making annoying faces, seeing him whole in an irritated mood Anbu put back her phone and gave him full attention.
" Main switch isn't functioning properly, and I don't know what's wrong with the inverter " Rishi shrugged and sat beside her, holding the pillow close to him with a drone look on his face. He never got a chance to watch that horror movie till now, besides he wanted to watch that movie with good company, and finally when he got the opportunity nature did its job.
" Ohh..... it's okay let's enjoy eachothers company " Anbu offered him little comfort, as she understood that even a little things can annoy him so easily.
Rishi smiled at her when she said about enjoying eachothers company.
They can clearly hear the beautiful rhythmic Rain.
Rishi felt the positive vibes around him when he's around Her. His eyes met hers in the process of returning the smiling gesture, The eyes are frequently referred to as the windows to the soul since they are capable of revealing a great deal about what a person is feeling or thinking. He found her soul more beautiful and attractive than her physical appearance. Anyone can feel attracted towards physical appearance but the one, who's determined to be the one for you, will always be attracted to your inner soul more than your appearance and beauty. Here Rishi felt the exact same.
Anbu was still lost in his deep brown eyes, it was an unexpected eye contact yet flatten one.
The atmosphere was filled with an aroma of mud and fresh air, it was so refreshing and smoothing. Pouring rain sounds were fighting background music work for the situation.
Slowly he brought his face near her, still maintaining eye contact with her. Both were so lost in the moment, that they didn't have any control over their actions.
Every passing seconds was hard for her not to look into his eyes, both breasts got heavy having each other so close.
Unknowingly Anbu blushed and bited her lower lips to prevent her blush, but it turned out to be a big turn on for him. Averting his gaze from her eyes to on her lips, he again looked at her eyes and raised his eyebrows. Anbu was totally clueless about what he was asking yet she slowly nodded her head.
And that's it.
He smiled and went forward to capture her tempting lips in his, slowly and carefully he closed to her till their hot breaths touched each other's faces, anbu closed her eyes and gave in. Rishi held her face into his both palms and brushed his lips with hers. He too closed his eyes and was about to suck her bottom lips, but abruptly something struck him. Opening his eyes with a jerk he breathed out.
Anbu was still waiting for him to kiss her, he looked at her and cursed himself for initiating such a thing out of nowhere.
Immediately he separated himself from her, and sat on the other edge of the couch taking his head in his both hands.
Anbu opened her eyes when she didn't feel his presence near her, she saw Rishi seated while holding his head in his hands. He looked so messed up And it made her nervous.
" umm....Ris " before she could ask him what happened, Rishi spoke.
" I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done this. I'm sorry I was just lost and Rishi stammering while speaking, he still didn't look up.
" It's okay Rishi, we're engaged and i lo.. “ She was about to confess something but again Rishi cut her off and spoke.
" No it's not okay, I'm not okay. I didn't tell you one of the important things of my life, which I should have done beforehand. '' Rishi grieved, taking off his hands and looking at her. His eyes were speaking a lot more than he spoke. Perhaps she knew where he was going to get this topic.
Thank god, she is already prepared as she knew something like this must cross their relationship as now-a-days it has become so normal.
" I was in love with someone " she heard his deep voice, which held so much pain and agony that she got goosebumps just by listening to him.
Author's POVAnbu was looking at him with a blank face and an open mouth." Ummm ? " Anbu initiated the conversation after a brief silence. Rishi took his hands from his head and looked at Anbu, who was accurately waiting for his response. She expected something like this, now-a-days it's so obvious to have a past relationship right ? But seeing his red bloodshot eyes she understood. It's definitely not gonna be a simple relationship for him. And it scares her, because just now she began to imagine her future with him, and he's already stumbling with his past." And we broke up . That's it, " Rishi said, scratching his nose, trying to control his emotions. Anbu was still not done with his deep voice filled with so many emotions that she feared. She still gave him the same white face look.Seeing her worried over his past relationship, Arjun shook his head and said " don't worry I have moved on long ago. And now I'm clear about what I want and what is my feeling towards it " he ass
Author's POVThe river was swelling rapidly with constant bucketing down. Some People were getting themselves prepared to face the cyclone, like buying extra food if it's needed and cutting down a few branches of trees which can fall due to the cyclone. Government was helping the roofless poor peoples by providing them shelter. Few people were looking after their vehicles' parking slots too. while some were just calmly enjoying the musky weather. Rishi was gazing at the water bubbles which were falling from the relay of the balcony. Time has already passed seven in the evening, time passes like a blink of an eye when you're with the right person. Just a few minutes ago his parents called him and asked him to stay inside the apartment and take care of himself. Rishi too spoke to them for a few minutes and ended the call. He was seated on the couch of the balcony with both hands on either side of the couch in a Comfortable and relaxed position yet Something was disturbing him, and he w
Author's POVIt was a grey morning with a dull sky threatening rain. The sky above was full of tumultuous, dark, ragged clouds. Morning freshness of fresh rain and mud was making the environment look vintage. Everything appeared clean and clear along with glowing greenery of plants and trees after the water washed due to rain. Few water drops were slowly falling from every hard object, the falling sound of water droplets was melodic to many living ears, in this noisy city. Leisurely diverting her gaze from the window, Anbu stared at Rishi, who was sleeping peacefully beside her curled into a ball.He was sleeping, leaving a decent gap between them. Anbu wasn't surprised at all, she knew he might have thought that he's taking advantage of her, and following that he must have made a gap between them at midnight. He's worrying about the physical closeness, but what about the intense closeness of their souls which they had last night ? Anbu smiled sarcastically knowing, no matter h
Author's POVVarun gazed at Anbu for a good few minutes before cracking up in laughter." Omg, haa haa just look at your face " saying this he again burst into laughter.Anbu was perplexed for a few seconds, seeing him laughing like a maniac when the realisation hit her.He pranked her." Hey bulldozer, do I look brainless ? Why would I love you ? She was really terrified by his sudden proposal because she didn't know how to react to it, till now she has seen him as a good friend but his sudden
Rishi's POV" Rishi, listen this is too risky a day. If anyone saw us here, we might have to face the worst . " I heard Ram's whispering. This guy is such a pain in the ass, he's constantly saying the same thing again and again and making my ear bleed by his sore voice. Why did I even bring him with me ? Now, I'm regretting life decisions.I thought if he accompanied me I'll climb up her room easily but here this dumb head is trying every possible way to stop me." Ram, I brought you to help me, not to scare me. ``I mumbled gazing at her room balcony, I could see the brightness on her balcony curtains. That means they're still awake. Lowering myself from the compound wall of the girls hostel, I sat on my bike. While Ram stood there holding the bike's handle with a pout." I have heard that this girl's hostel warden is very strict, she will eat us alive today. Please for god sake listen to me. Let's go back, you can meet her Tomorrow too ." And once again he again opened his mouth fo

Author's POVRishi's head snapped at the source of direction, his unstable eyes fell on a kid who was running away from her mother. A sudden rush of relief passed through his soul, when he realised that the kid's name is Anu too. Not that Anu who he was expecting. A part of him was afraid while another part of him was desperate to get a glimpse of his Anu. Sighing in relief, he turned around only to face Anbu with a questioning look. Rishi mentally face is palmed seeing her like that. " So, her name is Anu, " Anbu asked him, narrowing her eyebrows. Smart she. Rishi nodded his head stealing glances at her. He cursed his inner self for being such a desparate stupid to forget everything around him in a desire of see Anu. For a moment he even forgot Anbu when he heard Anu. He couldn't imagine how Anbu might have felt when he behaved like that. A moment of silence occurred. Anbu shook her head dramatically and resumed to walk forward, while Rishi followed her like a lost puppy. " A
Somewhere in Delhi.Third person's POV" Ria, hand me the water jug. '' After calling out my three years old daughter's name, I continued to cut the extra grown and dried leaves of plants using the scissor. My sharp eyes were fully concentrated on work. When I didn't get any response from my daughter, I called her name again."Ria, mumma said something baby ""Ria""Riaa" this time my voice was a little louder and sharp that made my daughter flinch in fear.Turning my head back I looked at Ria, who was sitting on the floor with a cactus in her hand. Ria's eyes were all fixed with floors.Seeing my
Anu’s POV I froze on my spot, trying to breath for the sake of my life and to make it even more worse Sid pulled back only to bent his head till my level and look into my eyes for a brief moment before he went to the left side ear and purred “ And, it’s always going to be YOU….” letting his hot breath touch my skin and create havoc inside me. At this point, I just melted and now I want him to hold me before I collapse on the floor. He made me freaking weak, being my weakness. He’s my weakness, and instead of feeling threatened to realise that I feel a sense of contentment and happiness. It took so much for us to reach this point where I can trust him, give my heart and let him touch my soul. We built this trust through a lot of uncomfortable conversation, emotional vulnerability and with empathy for each other’s broken parts of heart which we eventually learnt to fix. We cured each other to make each other feel complete and that’s how we reached this point of healthy relatio
Anu’s POV “ be a good baby and don’t trouble Masha okay……Mumma loves you baby *umhaa*” Smooching loudly on the speaker of the phone , I heard Ria doing the same before the call ended. Placing the phone on the dressing table I huffed as my eyes pulled back to the mirror in front of me. I looked beautiful and glowing even in the dim lighting of the room.. Maybe the Skincare and months of doing yoga with a pit of laziness every morning is finally showing the results I wanted. Well, it’s been three months since I started to care for my skin and body after Ria gave me an earful of how I'm not taking good care of myself. I was amused to hear her talking about yoga and intake of healthy foods. Like from when did she know about all these ? But then I came to know that Ria’s new best friend, Dhruv’s mother, is a yoga teacher and runs her own yoga centre. At first I didn't want to join the yoga class because of my laziness and habit of procrastination. Besides, Sid would always make me f
Author’s POV “ How come I had no clue about your feelings towards me ? Was I that ignorant in those days ? “ Asked Anu blankly, staring at the ceiling of her room while her fingers played with the ends of her wavy hairs. The chillness of her hairs wetted Sid’s pink Ryamon cotton shirt as her head was placed on his stomach, while both of them were laying on her bed in mid afternoon to take a nap before Ria returned from her school. Once she gets home, it’s hard for both of them to take a moment of rest since Ria has become more mischievous nowadays and all appreciation goes to Sid who is spoiling her with all his rights. “ Because I was a good pretender…. “ Replied Sid who was also staring at the blank space of the ceiling. His fingers aimlessly tangled between the layers of her hairs while his other hand was placed under his head. The room was so peaceful for their own mood that none of them wanted to break this moment. The soft white curtains moved back and forth as Slow b
Author’s POV *Hey, are you free this evening ? I’ve two tickets for 96 movie, Evening show * *let me say this before you say Yes…... .just know that it would be our first date if you said Yes..*It took a lot of courage for Sid to hit the send button after he typed and erased the same msg for the past two hours. And when he finally hit the send button with a shaking hand and uneven breath, he shut his eyes tight not wanting to face her rejection that he was expecting despite filling himself with hope of a positive response from her. After a while he opened his eyes and saw the message being delivered but not seen as she wasn’t online right at this moment. He sighed leisurely, placing his phone on the table in front he leaned on the couch, biting his nails one by one. He realised that he wasn’t this nervous even when he was preparing for his board exams a decade ago or when his father caught him watching porn on his PC when he was in his first year of college. Finding no other w
Part 70 Author’s POV“ Keep your phone with you all the time, “said Rishi, rotating the steering wheel with his one hand while his other hand was behind the back of her head, on the seat as he glanced back to make sure of the clear spot to park. “ hmmm “ Anbu responded while she was lost in some thoughts.“ don’t skip meals even if you’re busy, “ he said, halting the car in the perfect parking slot and releasing his seat belts. “ Hmmm “ she again hummed without even paying attention to her surroundings. Looking at her he spoke “ don’t eat too much of oily foods, you’ll end up having upset stomach ““ Hmmm “ her eyes were fixed to the front of the car as she aimlessly kept playing the pendant of her chain. “ Try to make time and call me, or text me “ turning towards her side, He said to gain her attention. “ Hmmm “ she was still lost in her thoughts that she didn’t even realise that he was gazing at her for the past few minutes. with a playful smile lingering around the corner o
Author’s POV It was 2:36AM, Anu was sleeping soundly with her arms wrapped around her daughter. It’s been a week now since they have shifted here and Anu had been running to places since then, Ria’s new school admission process, new house arrangements and also finding a maid seems more difficult task then the above two Thank god to Masha who looked after Ria in absence of Anu as she had to go out often in this one week. And after all the rush and tiresome work, she managed to arrange everything. Hereafter she can join her new office in two days without having to worry about anything else. She was in deep sleep when the constant ringing of her phone disturbed her sleep as she leisurely opened her eyes and took a few minutes to shake off the sleepiness to gain her consciousness. “ hello “ she spoke in her horse voice. “ Masha, at this hour ? “ she asked on call, hardly able to keep her eyes open. Rubbing her eyes using her thumbs, Anu glanced at the clock when she put down the
Author’s POV “ Are you sure no one would catch us here ?” questiONED Anbu as soon as she stood behind Rishi, who seemed lost in gazing at the night sky. Turning around he shook his head with surety and spoke “ don’t worry, everyone already slept and i’ve asked one of my cousin to look out for us “ “ Hmmm “ she responde, looking around thinking of a way to start the conversation. The terrace was covered in peaceful silence, the dim lights provided enough brightness there. Covered under the night sky and serene atmosphere, both of them stood in an awkward silence for a minute. She began “ um…..what’s both…. “ “ let’s sit over there “ He spoke pointing at the right corner of the terrace. She and both of them sat down beside each other leaning on the wall behind them. “ what’s going on in your mind ?” She had no patience after watching him avoid looking into her eyes a few times. Every passing second was filling her with more questions and disturbing thoughts, He looked
Author’s POV “ What’s bothering you ? “ asked Swati who was helping Anbu in removing her make up after the function. It was nearly Two AM when the reception was complete and guests left after having the buffet, some of them didn’t fail to remark on the food taste though. Throughout the function Anbu was standing on the edge of walking to her room and throwing herself on the bed to take a nap. These Marriage things seemed exciting and interesting only when she wasn’t the actual bride. Exhausted, sleep deprived and tired are the words that can describe her current status. The happiness of marrying the man she loves is one side, but the tiresome they have to go through to marry each other seemed tiring that in middle of rituals she had this urge to get up and scream that she doesn’t wants a grand marriage anymore and would just have register marriage instead but she also couldn’t say that as her other side badly wants this grand marriage. After coming back from Delhi Rishi and A
Author’s POV “ What do you want now ? '' Anu fumed in anger, glaring at Rishi, who was seated across from her on the couch in the hall. It’s been a few minutes since Masha called him in after convincing Anu for this. Since Anbu didn’t want to be an awkward and unwanted part of this conversation between Rishi and Anu, she assured him that she will wait in his car till he is done. Masha had taken Ria to upstairs before calling him inside the house as per Anu’s demand. Anu didn’t want Ria to know about Rishi. Meanwhile Rishi took a brief moment to examine his surroundings. He could say that she had maintained the home well and tidy but what surprised him was those brown carton boxes which were placed here and there in different sizes, some packed and some half packed. Leaving the furniture, other things seemed already packed and ready to be moved. He realised that she is in the process of shifting to somewhere else, but he won’t dare to ask her about it. Anu’s eyes reflected th
