Grandmother's regret

"He had died three years and a month after your wedding. I did more research and realized that he indulged in betting and drinking all night which had given a negative result to his health. Jude had invited him one day to ask about you as usual when he found him dead," Gabrielle's voice shook as she flung her arms around Raina who had stiffened from the shock.

Gabrielle had purposely skipped saying that the main reason Raina's father had perished was because no one was there to seek assistance on his behalf when he collapsed in the building.

Raina sucked in small breaths as she murmured incoherent words. "I killed him. I didn't stay to take care of him. What type of daughter am I?!" She shook in regret. Her lips were quivering badly.

Gabrielle trembled at the mental consequences of an individual blaming himself for such matters. "No! You didn't kill him!" She bit her lips and arrests Raina as their cries resounded through the whole building.
