Reed POV

After leaving Heather in the tub to soak her aching muscles, I appreciated the fact that she tried to hide the fact that she was sore, but come on, it was so easy to tell as she had walked to the bathroom. Lucas and I changed the sheets on the bed. We didn't want her to feel guilty about anything if she saw the small blood stain that had been left. I know it sounds archaic, but I felt a bit of a sense of pride knowing that I had been the one to have the privilege to put it there.

We opted for making BLTs since it is one of the few things we know we can make without burning them. Lucas was minding the bacon while I was washing and chopping the tomato and lettuce. “Reed, did you expect that to happen when we brought her here?” Lucas asks through the link.

“No. All I wanted was for her to let us back into her life. To be considered a friend again,” I answered, sounding dumbfounded.
