Chapter 8 - You are way better.
~~
"Is everything ready?" Ace asked, looking at us.
We all nodded our heads in affirmation.
"This should be fun." Dylan grinned then turned to me, giving me a bigger grin. "Thanks Joanna, if it weren't for your bucket list this wouldn't have happened."
I waved my hand in dismal, "its okay. In fact thanks to Bryan for stealing my list and I am honestly quite enjoying this." I saw a small smile creep up on Ace's face on his otherwise his expressionless face.
I remembered his text from yesterday. Nothing ever happened. My foot nothing happened. He can say that when I kick his balls and feed them to the sharks.
I sighed, glancing around. Logan, Alan and Max had gone to Mrs. Finn's house late night yesterday to cover her brand new Mercedes with pastel and neon post-it notes. The front was covered in pink, yellow and light blue. The sides in orange and green and the back white and light pink. 'Good Morning Tight-Pants!' was written in bold black letters on the front post-its. Logan had clicked pictures of the car from every angle and showed them the first thing he entered school. He even made a W******p group and posted it there so we all could have them. It looked ridiculous but awesome. Dylan had even patted their backs in a proud father manner.
Janice, Brittany and Dylan had covered Mrs. Finn's parking lot with sticky wet mud in the early morning. So that after removing all the notes she would find the car wheels brown and sticky with mud when she parked at school. Luckily her parking lot was at the far end and no one was allowed to park anywhere near it. Perks of ruling the school.
As for me and Ace, we had sneaked into her cabin early morning. A bucket full of water was placed on the door in such a way that the second she opened the cabin door, she would be soaked in the cold water with the plastic bucket just about touching her head. Knowing she would change into her spare clothes that she always kept in her personal cupboard, we had smartly exchanged her usual formal pants and shirt with a neon pink top that had 'I Quit this Job' written on it. It was paired with green loose jeans since no one knew her waist size. Even after all this Ace wanted to take more revenge for the torture and chiding he had to go through for 3 years so he had mixed excess salt in all the bottles with water. He had also twisted one wheel of her rotating chair so that she would fall when she sat on it.
Yes we are evil. But it was worth all the torture she had put the students through. I bet students would thank us in their prayers. And I had also realized that this was the first time I was doing something against the rules. It felt good.
Memories made while having fun are the best and most memorable memories. After all life is all about enjoying with friends and eating Nutella.
The first bell rang and we mingled into the crowds of students to avoid suspicions. Dylan, Brittany and Alan went to their biology class. Janice and Max to calculus and I walked with Ace to literature class.
"All we have to do is wait and watch now." Ace said flopping down beside me.
I could feel the curious stares of all the people in the class on us. Mainly because Ace was attending literature class for only the second time this year and instead of his usual seat at the back corner he was sitting next to me in the center of class.
I heard heels clanking and groaned mentally. Why does she have majority classes with me? I heard a sharp intake of breath and looked up to find Alicia staring at us with wide eyes. She looked from Ace to me and repeated it until her eyes landed on me and shifted from shock to evil. "Slut." She mouthed and I rolled my eyes in response, making her more furious.
She walked steadily to me and stopped in front of my seat. Her face completely covered in white foundation and pink blush. Lips red and eyes surrounded by brown eyeliner with gold eye shadow. "Get up." She ordered, keeping her red purse on the bench. It was so small, but then again she didn't bring books and pens for class, she bought mirrors and lipsticks.
I glanced at Ace who was looking at our exchange with amusement. He was probably hoping for a cat fight.
"You sit there." I said to Alicia, pointing at her regular seat.
"I want to sit here today." She stated, playing with her hair and sending a flirty wink in Ace's direction.
His responding wink wasn't expected by me and nor was the seething and annoying feeling inside me. Bloody prick, winking back. I glared at her and lifted my bag. "He is all yours." I spat and walked off to the last bench, not caring to turn back see the triumphing look on her face. Her smirk would fail to hurt me as much as the flirty look on Ace's face would. Of course I wasn't jealous. Nah!
But then I thought of it again and turned back. Never let a bitch win. "Alicia?" I droned sweetly. "Honey your face isn't the drawing book, chill with the make-up."
Ignoring the snorts and loud laughter I walked to the back seat feeling immensely proud of myself. After a few seconds I felt a presence besides me but ignored it until I felt the familiar smell of mint and vanilla. I looked sideways in astonishment and then to my previous bench where Alicia sat alone, glaring at me.
It took a few seconds for the situation to sink in. "Why?" I finally asked Ace curiously.
He shrugged like it was no big deal and gave a simple answer that made my tummy zoo turn live. "You are way better."
**
"Bryan Cooper, Maxwell Scott and Dylan Davis, come to my cabin RIGHT NOW." Mrs. Finn's extremely angry voice came through the loudspeakers clearly.
We looked at each other and then at their table. It was lunch break and we were seated separately to avoid questions. Ace, Max and Dylan got up slowly from their seats, stretching their hands uninterestingly. Dylan turned to our table and threw a discrete wink at us while Ace and Max strolled nonchalantly out of the canteen. It was like a routine for them.
"Do you think she knows it was us?" Brittany whisper-asked.
We turned to her. I shrugged my shoulders and Logan shook his head. "I doubt it."
"But her face when she entered school will sure be worth the punishment." Alan commented, laughing at the memory. He was the only one who had seen her entering among us that too because he was chasing Celia begging for a date and every time she was downright rejecting him. All we had heard were the screams of Mrs. Finn and all the teachers running everywhere shouting at the students, demanding answers.
"You should have taken a video." Janice said, slapping the back of his head.
He scowled at her. "And what would I tell Celia? ‘Oh! I'll talk to you later because right now I need to shoot a video of our principal's furious face because my friends would love to see it.' And she would be like, 'Oh, that's great. Why don't you ask them for a date then?'"
We chuckled but Janice stared at him with a blank face. "Is she possessive? Because if she is then you better leave her right now. I don't want you not attending our movie nights and stupid plans because some girl is insecure."
"Janie baby, I would never miss our meetings." Alan cooed.
Janice raised her eyebrows. "Even if she is on the bed with legs spread out, waiting for you?"
"Uh then I may have to think." He said, rubbing his neck.
"Eww a very bad image." Logan wrinkled his nose, shaking his head.
Alan kicked his feet. "You aren't supposed to imagine that."
"I couldn't help it. Janice described it in such a way." Logan defended, drinking his water in one gulp.
"Joanna Williams, my cabin." The loudspeaker rang again.
I felt my heart beat rise. Holy Fuck! Did she know? I hope not. Did she threaten the three and made them tell my name? Bryan wouldn't do that, would he? My parents would kill me and if they didn't Connor sure would. I looked at my friends who had worried expressions on their faces.
"Fuck!" I exclaimed in a low tone, my fear raising another notch.
"Should I come with you?" Janice asked, half getting up.
I shook my head, gulping hard. "I'll be fine." Hopefully.
"I hope you get suspended." Alicia shouted as I walked out. I turned and smiled sweetly at her. "I hope you learn to zip your mouth or our school will be infested by the shit falling from it."
I knocked and entered the cabin. Ace, Max and Dylan were still there with blank faces.
"Miss. Williams." Mrs. Finn nodded towards me and when I saw her I almost laughed out aloud instantly pretending to have a coughing fit. She was wearing the spare top we had kept for her and probably the jeans too but I couldn't see it because of the opaque table. Even her chair was different, wet and low? The broken chair lay in a corner. My eyes swept towards the bottles but they were all gone. Looks like she tasted the water.
"Yes Ma'am?" I asked, biting my lip from laughing.
"You are the class president and your duty is to handle the students properly. As you can see I am wearing different clothes because some student found it funny to exchange mine with these." She gripped the neon top, her eyes flaring with immense rage. "I am ordering you to find out the responsible person behind this or you will suffer maximum loss. I hope I have made myself clear. Now disperse." She waved her hand facetiously.
I felt anger rise inside me and all the guilt I had for going with the prank melted away. "Ma'am, I am sorry but that is job of teachers and student body president, not the class president. I am already arranging for our annual festival and also tutoring Ace along with handling my personal studies. I can't handle more. I am sorry."
She stared at me with more fury before sighing. "I'll tell the teachers to look into this while you Miss. Williams back answered me and as a result I order you to tutor Max and Dylan along with Bryan. Now leave, all of you. And if I find you that you three have a hand in this, the punishment would be severe than just a parent meeting."
I didn't wait for another second. "Thank you Ma'am." I said and sauntered out closely followed by the TTs.
"That was close." Max half-whispered, rubbing his head.
"And impressive." Dylan added, nodding in my direction. "You totally told her to fuck off."
I frowned at him. "I didn't tell that."
He rolled his eyes. "Indirectly genius."
I childishly stuck out my tongue. "Yeah yeah."
"You were good." Ace whispered, knocking his shoulder with mine lightly.
My smile automatically grew wider and I looked up at him to see a little smile on his face. "Thanks." I whispered back. Our eyes locked and just like that the world disappeared.
"You have to teach us too." Dylan said merrily, bringing me back to the world.
"Uh yeah." I sighed. One wasn't enough now I had three. A sudden idea popped in my head. "We'll do group studies."
"We?" Max inquired.
"Janice and all and you guys. We'll have fun." I said excitedly. Group studies always worked, that's what I had heard but never tried it.
"I have a feeling fun is only thing we'll have." Ace mumbled.
And suddenly I had that feeling too. Max and Brittany in one room - always glaring, Janice in Dylan in one room – always flirting, Logan and Alan – always joking and Ace and I in one room – always bickering. It would be fun alright.

Sooooooooooooooo much fun!!
Here's a new one!! Just for ya! ;)--towers fall, Bin Laden killed, Michael Jackson die, a royal wedding between a prince and a commoner, 9 planets become 8, survived Y2K and the Mayan apocalypse, and most importantly, the Coronavirus. I'm not even 25 yet.I grinned as I read the Instagram post instantly double tapping on it. I felt a pair of curious eyes on me and turned to face Ace looking at me intensely."What are you smiling at?" He asked, coming closer and sitting beside me on the couch.I shrugged and showed him the post."True." He agreed and then frowned. "But what is Y2K?"I scanned my brain for the information. "It was the Year 2000 Problem, a problem for both digital and non-digital situations which resulted from the practice of abbreviating a four-digit year to two digits." I replied. He grinned mischievously. "Scholar good muffin!"I rolled my eyes, a small smiling creeping up my face. "It's common sense o
Chapter 10 - We'll never be friends.~~It's kind of easy to know if a guy likes you.∞ He will stare discreetly at you.∞ He will try to be nice and sweet with you.∞ He will try to kiss you and be near you.∞ He will constantly find reasons to text you or talk to you.∞ His friends might tease him with your name.Hogwash.What if he's glaring and not staring? What if he's rude exactly five minutes after being nice to you? What if he's ignoring you after trying to suck your face? What if he texts and talks only when he needs something? What if his friends don't even talk about you to him? What the hell does all this mean? That means you are looking too much into things and spoiling your already spoilt mood. Overthinking causes more problems and kills your happiness. My mind answered.I groaned s
Chapter 11 - Don't reply with a K.~~"Why can't she just reply me?" Alan screamed in frustration, glowering at his phone as he paced from one end of the room to the other. That's what he had been doing since the past 10 minutes, after not getting any reply from Celia.I rolled my eyes at his impatience. "When did she message you?"He paused for a minute, looking at his phone. "Uh about 50 minutes back.""Alan, there are some rules for texting a girl." I explained, pointing my right forefinger at him while I counted on the left hand. "1) Don't take more than 30 minutes to reply. 2) Don't reply with a K. 3) Use good grammar. 4) Ask questions. 5) Use Smileys but limited. ""Now you know why I didn't reply you yesterday." Janice hollered, throwing a pillow at a surprised Dylan."Hey, I didn't know those rules." Dylan defended, throwing the pillow back at her."What did he do?" Logan asked, smirking at
Chapter 12 -You are my favorite bitch to bitch about bitches with.~~I stared at Ace and then at Sean and then again at Ace and Sean. Step-brothers? Could it be? I looked for any familiarities but other than their incredibly hot physiques and drool-worthy looks, found none. I didn't even know Ace had some step-parent."I have a step-mother." Ace answered, making me wonder how he knew just what I was thinking about it."Oh." I said. Does this mean I've been kind of flirting with both step-brothers? Ugh.There was a silence that surpassed the noises of students playing, eating, having fun faded and my mind revolved around the new information. It was deafening. I needed space to think clearly, to face them again. When you're told something so shocking, even the act of acting normal fails."I uh-need to go to pee, badly." I spoke hastily and not waiting for their replies, I faded into the surrounding sw
Chapter 13 - You need more stamina muffin.~~~If the way to a man's heart is through his stomach then I am afraid I can never reach any man's heart.I thought mournfully."Joanna what did you do now?" My mother's angry yet worried voice came through the laundry room.I frowned at the mess in kitchen and then at the almost burning oven. "Frankly? I don't know."I heard running feet and then a loud gasp from my mother as soon as she entered the kitchen."I vaguely remember saying that you are banned absolutely forbidden from using the gas or oven." My mom scolded, her hands on her hips. She looked like the unknown lady in Tom and Jerry, only a lot thinner."Sorry mom, I was just trying to help you."She scoffed, muttering something under her breath. "What were you making?""Uh pizza?"Her eyes narrowed at the spilt milk on the gas, "Your Pizza has milk?""No! I was also making
Chapter 14 - But we aren't dating.~~~"Some people just need a hug around their neck with a rope." Janice hissed, pulling me through the crowd of students.I silently followed her, pushing a stumbling guy with a drink in his hand. Wait! How did he even get the drink? This is a school festival, no alcohol allowed. "Hey you!" I shouted at the guy. He turned to face me, his eyes squinting in concentration. "You look like a penguin."I frowned at his analogy. Should I be pleased that he compared me to a cute animal or insulted because penguins are pretty fat and walk weirdly? I shrugged it off, narrowing my eyes at the glass in his hand. "Where did you get this drink from?"He looked at the glass and beamed. "Oh this? That guy over there-" he pointed at a small crowded stall which wasn't there till yesterday. "-he's giving this away. Free! I love free stuff! You should try it... it's delicious. And FREE! Wohoo free!!"
Chapter 15 - Are your legs Nutella because I would love to spread them.Ignorant brat.I stared with newly formed hatred at the table skillfully situated at the end of canteen away from prying eyes. All three arrogant idiots were sitting there munching on something nonchalantly. I narrowed my eyes at the center guy - Bryan Cooper; I was sure he felt my hard gaze drilling right into his pea sized brains but didn't care to acknowledge it."They aren't worth it." Janice said icily, staring at the same direction before popping a cookie into her mouth."I knew they were like this. They are bad boys for a reason; they have no care for anyone's feelings." Brittany told, sending a glare to them."Leave it. At least Joanna's brother is happy." Logan joked.I snorted, shaking my head at him, remembering it, when my brother came to know that I hadn't talked to Ace for quite some time, he literally jumped with joy on the bed an
Chapter 16 - There might be some hanky panky involved.~~We entered the dimly lit motel and even with the shining sun outside; the motel looked like it was cursed with shadows and ghosts and vampires lurking around, hunting for blood. I looked at the reception desk, a plain brown desk which was surprisingly tidy. A young woman adorned in a skimpy blue dress that left little to imagination. Were receptionists allowed to dress like that? She sat on a huge chair, flipping magazine pages without even reading anything. Her lips pressed in a disinterested line. The area was pretty neat and a few couples sat on the couches opposite the reception desk, doing different things not worth telling. It looked a little too romantic with red flowers and red curtains with tiny white hearts on it. So much red! For honeymooners indeed."1 room with 2 beds for five days." Ace said, removing his wallet. The young woman looked up and gasped as she saw
Thank you for being such an amazing reader! I love you! Epilogue "Oh my god! Push it harder." I groaned. "I am trying." Bryan said breathlessly. "Try harder and do it fast." "Why don't you move and help me too?" He huffed, trying to push it deeper. I smiled slickly, spreading my legs wider on the bed. "Because this is the guy's job." He gritted his teeth and with one last push it finally reached inside. We both exhaled in contentment. "Finally." "I told you it was too big to enter." Bryan said smugly. I just rolled my eyes. "But it did right?" "Thank god you two finally managed to push the damn box inside the drawer." Logan remarked, entering the room. I stuck out my tongue. "The guest bed and couch are in place?" He nodded. "Yeah though Alan and Ian did most of it. Since my leg is still unfit." He grinned haughtily. "Please it's been almost two years since that incident and we all know you can run a marathon now." I snorted, smacking his back. Logan smirked. "Hey don't
The last chapter! :( Who else is sad this is ending??? -- Chapter 33 - Wrap it before you tap it. ~~ It was awkward. Super-duper awkward. I glanced through my eyelids as my dad shifted on the beige colored couch, picking up his coffee mug from the table all the while glaring at the extremely uncomfortable Bryan, or at least trying his best to glare. Connor sat beside my dad stifling a smile. I and mom were huddled on the opposite chair, glancing nervously at the scene playing in front of us. "So..." My dad cleared his throat, pausing as he thought of something to say. "Your name is Bryan." And that is what he comes up with! To say my father couldn't interview my boyfriend was the biggest understatement. "Yeah." Bryan nodded, touching his blue shirt collar anxiously. This was probably the first time he was wearing a shirt that too with a tie. He looked pretty hot and I would have kissed him senselessly if my father wasn't in front trying his best to act strict. "Why are you
Chapter 32 - The python turned into a butterfly. ~~ I hated hospitals. The smell of bleach filled my nose and I wrinkled it, not liking the smell even a bit. The corridors seemed stuffy as families huddled in corners weeping and hugging each other. The walls so empty and plain reflected the lives of many people present here. The floor shined brightly, way too brightly as the workers kept wiping it even though it was more than clean. Nurses moved swiftly, only stopping to give sympathetic smiles. Doctors rushed all over the place, their faces twisted with tension. My blank eyes drank in the scene without any emotion. I felt hollow and extremely guilty. My back pressed against the wall and my hands buried in my pockets, I knew I never wanted to come back to hospitals again. "No! Please try. He can't die yet. Just try one more time. I beg you, please." I blinked at the commotion. A young lady with a small boy in her hands wept uncontrollably as she begged an old doctor to save some
Are you ready!?--Chapter 31 - I had even chosen my wedding dress and names for our babies.~~"Kill Anastasia.""No, grab her.""Just shoot her in the head.""Are you crazy? We need her alive."Alan and Ian fought as they gripped a furious Anastasia's arms tightly while Connor, Logan and Max were busy fighting the bodyguards. Dylan was throwing punches at Riyaz and Blacky was hitting Scar-face. Wait! What? Blacky is on our side? Woah.My eyes finally settled on Bryan who was regarding me with cautious eyes. I allowed my eyes to roam all over him. Those messed up hair, honey brown eyes, kissable lips, thin layer of beard over his jaw, the way his red tee clung to his sweaty chest and his faded black jeans. He was a tremendous sight and all mine. Just as I was about to run to him and kiss him senselessly something hit my back from behind.I turned and saw Mr. Unfamiliar’s back to me
Yay! New one!Comment, comment!Chapter 30 - Everyone has the right to be stupid, you just abuse the privilege.~~"Go deeper inside until you hit the spot."Ian snorted and I bit my lip in attempt to control my laughter. Oh yes, apparently minds works in a ridiculously dirty way when bored. Mr. Unfamiliar slapped Ian's back as a warning and I pressed my lips together fighting the bubbling laughter."Make sure they reach there. No more drama. I'll call the others." Mr. Unfamiliar said to Alan and walked off.As soon as he disappeared round the corner, Ian and I burst into laughter."Go deeper inside." Ian repeated walking ahead. "We are all going deeper inside, it'ssohuge."I laughed even more, clutching my stomach. "Shut up Ian and find thespot.""Go right." Alan said from behind us and I detected masked laughter.
Chapter 29 - Your password is so predictable.~~I was still looking at my once best friend, Alan McCarthy, in utter bewilderment and distress when Ace stepped towards him, punching him square on the face.I didn't do anything to protest. I couldn't. I was frozen in complete shock."You are a pathetic excuse for a friend." He snarled.Alan stumbled back from the punch but held himself together. The blank vile expression on Alan's face didn't change. He spat on the ground and looked at Ace with so much hatred that it even shook me to the cores."You are a pathetic excuse for a gang member." Alan sneered. I blinked my eyes hoping that the Alan I knew would come back.Where was the friend who held me when I fell in my freshman gym sessions? Where was the friend who made me smile when I was feeling low? Where was the friend whom my mother adored and let him have the cookies even though he dropped crumbs all over the floor
Are you mentally prepared for this? Are you? Are you?I don't think you are.But legoooooooooooooooooooooooo!Chapter 28 - Just because we had sex doesn't mean you can control me.~~"So what are we doing here?" I asked Ace, settling on his bed in Indian style."Why? Completing your bucket list of course." He informed smirking and removing a well folded paper from his back pocket."Do you keep it with you all the time?" I pressed my lips together, finding it rather amusing. He simply winked at me and sat beside me, keeping the open paper in front of me.I glanced through the old and yet immaculate paper.Joanna's Bucket list: (If found do not read)✔1)Scream from the terrace of a high building on why I love Disney movies.2) Compliment every sad looking person on the road.
Chapter 27 - I smell babies.~~"Dylan is so sweet!" Janice gushed over the phone."Oh yeah? Did you eat him?" I joked as I drew funny patterns on the bed."Haha very funny." She said in a flat voice which instantly changed to excitement in her next words. "He took me to this new water park, the one which recently opened, you know the one which we were planning to go? Yeah that one. He took me there, he knew how much I love water rides. Isn't that sweet?!""I think it was just because he wanted to see you in a bikini." I scoffed. There was a mild pause. "I hate you."I chuckled. "I hate you more.""Fine bye."Rolling my eyes, I sat up knowing this conversation would last for at least an hour. "Drama queen. Give details."And then like predicted, my next one hour was spent in listening to every minute detail of her date, including the number of times he 'accidentally' touched her arm and stomach.&n
Chapter 26 - P-A-S-T. Previous Asset Successfully Thrown.~~I stared at the person I never thought I'd meet. I stared at her hour glass figure and elegantly dressed fashion and then looked at my dark blue sweatshirt and white shorts. I instantly felt insecure. I couldn't even blame Bryan for falling for her. She was drop dead gorgeous.I blinked a few times, hoping she would disappear. But she didn't in fact she was coming straight at me.A cherry topping to my already bad day. Awesome.I debated with my inner self on whether I should just turn away and walk off, acting like I never saw her or stand there and hear her heart wrenching words. Something inside me stopped me from moving, my legs didn't seem to cooperate at all."Joanna." Her voice was surprisingly soft but the snide smile on her face screamed fake."Anastasia." I greeted back with the same fake smile."I thought I would never get a chance to meet
