96. A Protective Embrace

Michael's pov -

As I am lifting Abigail into my arms, the party room fills with whispers and speculation. I can feel the judgmental gazes, the murmurs spreading like wildfire. Some suggest that Abigail might be addicted to drugs or wine, while others praise me for being a caring husband. I see jealousy in the eyes of some girls, wishing they were in Abigail's place. But I ignore them all, my focus solely on Abigail's well-being.

Intent on leaving the party, I guide Abigail towards the exit, but the journalists surround us, blocking our way. Their insensitive questions about Abigail's condition infuriate me, but I try my best to maintain composure.

"She is fine. Thanks for asking," I reply, trying to keep my voice steady despite the anger bubbling inside.

But they don't stop there; they continue with their intrusive questions, probing into Abigail's personal life. The anger in me intensifies, but I hold back, aware that reacting to such a situation might only make things worse for Abiga
