174. Endless Nightmare

Michael's POV -

I couldn’t sleep last night. There was a different type of restlessness. So I came to the office in the early morning and started working like a goat.

The morning at the office drones on, my mind divided between mundane tasks and the tumultuous plan brewing beneath the surface. I've been meticulously bribing every staff member in William's house, each hush exchange of money a step closer to the elusive contract paper. Once I have that document in my possession, I'll be armed to expose Ema and William's sordid affair, a scandal that will tarnish them both.

Amid my scheming, my phone abruptly rings. The caller ID reveals the driver, an unusual occurrence as he typically communicates through messages. A frown creases my forehead as I answer, sensing a strange tension in the air.

"Sir," the driver's voice trembles, "you won't believe what's happening here. It's utter chaos."

My heart clenches with foreboding. "What's going on?" I demand, the world around me suddenly fading
