My mind spins in circles as I meander through the house picking up the twins’ toys strewn everywhere. Guilt eats away at me for even entertaining the possibility that Kyle’s intentions are less than honorable. When did I start giving my traitorous mates the benefit of the doubt?

Stop it, Olivia! You’re being ridiculous! Kyle is one of the kindest, most caring people you’ve ever met. He’s been nothing but good to you. You will not let a stupid mate bond you don’t even want influence you to lose faith in him!

I’m still lost in my self-recrimination when I wander into Kaden’s office. The boys left their train set on the floor by his desk, just begging for someone to trip over it.
