Now that we are all agreed on having the two packs merge we start in on the topic of moving to the Queen's Keep.
I have only ever seen the place once, as a pup my pack took us on a field trip to see the keep. No one live's there, but the council sends people to check up on the place a couple times a year. And other packs also send children there on field trips.
The castle itself is huge, it could house both our packs 5 times over. That is not even taking into account the surrounding houses and other buildings. It is similar to the set up of the town square here, houses and apartment buildings for the pack members and families that do not want to live in the pack house. Then there are stores, grocery stores, bakery's, butchers, toy stores, all those things a normal town has, werewolves usually like to keep to themselves for the most part, so we usually have what we need in the pack town.
The queen's keep is different from a regular pack set u
"That means that me and Ansel will have to separate... Annie in the first group and me in the second, since the pack is taking to different path's to the castle. Also, now that I am thinking about it, the last group of 100 warriors, we shouls split them into 2 groups of 50, they can both leave at the same time, each taking one of the route's to make sure their was no one left behind." I say, trailing off as I get lost in thought. "That is a good point Ansel, agreed." Annie says as she leans down and makes the changes on her list. We work out the details, deciding exactly who will go with each group. The lead warriors know which of their warriors are best suited for each take. The Luna of Annie's pack and my mother, being the former Luna of my pack, it is their jod to know the name, rank, age, and general health of every member of the pack. Alpha Maxwell had made a point of talking to each of the rogue wolves who had joined us during the fighting. He made
I can see the shock on everyone's face's that I called a vote so fast, I didn't give anyone the chance to ask any questions. It does show how much my people already trust me that they are willing to follow what I want so blindly."I know that you all have a lot questions, and we will have plenty of time for that, for right now I will just be giving you a basic overview, and we will answer your questions later." I say, looking to Ansel, knowing that he will want to be the one to tell his people what is happening."I know you are all conserned about keeping your ranks and jobs. Me and Alpha Maxwell are working closely together on this, along with select members of each pack, we are going to be talking to each of you individualy over the next few weeks to work it all out, unfortunatly we do have more pressing matters so although the packs will be merged together in a few minutes time we will be too busy over the next few days to deal with the ranks and jobs."
"Queen Annie, can I have a word with you for a moment?" I turn to see one of the doctors taling to me. "Of course Doctor...?" I don't know his name, do I trail off questioningly. "It's Doctor Fritz." He says "Right, Doctor Fritz, how can I help you?" I ask him "Well, I was looking at the evacuation group list's, and I noticed that you have some of the wounded listed on there as warriors or mothers... And I know that half of them will be healed enough to travel on their own by the time it is time to leave, but some of the more serious wounds and Molly is still in a coma. Moving her will not be easy..." He is trying to be polite, and I can see that, but I can also see that he is mad. "I understand, we didn't take the wounded into account, I should have thought about that, I am sorry... What do you suggest? Ambulence's? I know we have a few, but I doubt we have enough to move all of the wounded in them." I say, asking his opinio
After a few hours of driving alone, listening to music, I have a sudden idea. I pick up my cell phone and call Ansel. He picks up the phone quickly, he sounds worried when he answers. "Hey, is everything okay?" Ansel asks. "Yes, everything is fine... I just thought that since we are going to be driving all day long, and we are both alone in our cars... we could talk..? I mean, we haven't really had the chance to get to know that much about each other yet, and it see,s like a waste to not use this time to get to know each other..." I tell him, hoping that he thinks I am sound sweet, rather than sounding nervous and pathetic like I feel. "I love that idea, it has been really hard for us to get to know eah other with everthing that has been going on lately, I feel like even the things I do know about you I am starting to question if I remember it right or if I am confusing it with the dozens of people we have met recently..." He says. "Okay,
I mind link the warriors from my old pack, 20 of them. <This needs to remain between us, tell the others to go on as normal to the alternate second check point. Do not tell them the details of your mission... I want you guys to travel at top speed in wolf form, straight to the original second check point. We have a situation...> I tell them, as calmly as I can, I want them to obey, but I do not want to give them too many details right now. *We understand Queen Annie, we are on our way.* Calvin answers me. He is the highest ranking one in the group, so he answers for them all. <Very good, I have to leave now, and catch back up with my group, mind link me when you get close, and I will walk you through the mission. And... I'm sorry that you have to be the ones to deal with this.> I say, sadness filling my voice, even in the mind link. Since I can't small anything here but my own scent and the pack members who died here, that make
I am telling Annie the story of Miss. Frankie joining the pack, it has been so long since it happened, I am not sure why the memory comes back now. "I remember the whole time I was expecting my mother to take over the current Luna she outranked the future alpha, I kept thinking that she was going to overrule me. But she never did, she let me give out orders and she made sure they where all followed afterwords. On the way home, she told me she was proud of me, it was the first time I had ever given orders and she backed me up, abd said that she was proud of the way I handled things. She said that I would be the best Alpha the world had ever seen." I tell Annie through the phone. "Well, she was a smart lady, I only spoke to her a few times, but she loved you, we could all see that everytime she looked at you. She was expecting big things from you." Annie says. We have been talking on the phone while we drive, at not the whole drive, but at least a f
Ansel says that I should assign 10 warriors to take my place as the guards for the fourth check point. I am rather flattered that he thinks I am equal to 10 warriors. That thing with the vampire's and their so called king was a fluke, they were all newly changed, and didn't know how to fight as vampire's yet. "Ansel, can I ask you a favor?" I ask. "Sure...? What's up?" Ansel asks. "Well, I agree that I should be the one to tell them about the attack, and that means that I won't be able to stay as the guard for the check point... But... I don't think I can go through it, telling them, over and over again and again... I will need you with me... can you.. I mean can we both do the same thing? It is the last check point on both route's. I will be able to get to them lightening fast if anything happens at either check point. But I don't think that I can do the emotionaly stressfull parts of this whole Queen thing without you by my side." I say. Then I add in
The rest of the day passes smoothly, with me talking to Ansel on the phone most of the day. I tell him about the day my parent's told me I would never have a wolf. How heartbroken I was as a child, knowing that all of my friends would be able to join the warriors, like our fathers, they would all be able to protect the pack and I would never be of any use. That was also the day that my father decided to start training me, he saw how upset I was, and how much it ment to me to be able to protect the pack. We spent hours every day training, first in hand to hand combat, moving on from there. "There is this movie, 'The Proffesional' where a hit man teaches a little girl how to be a hit man, or he starts to, but in the movie he teaches he long range killing first. He says that each new way she learns will bring her closer and closer to the target. Meaning she will learn the knife last, and one she does she will be unstoppable. My father sort of took the opposi
