We leave the mothers to finish dividing the weapons amongst themselves. When we reach the square I find Annie and Ri'elle opening box after box of vials.
"What are these?" I ask.
"Oh, hey, good you're back. These blue ones are healing potion for poison, the green ones heal any wounds short of losing a limb, and the red ones are weapons. The only issue with the weapons is that Ri'elle and the witches color coded by help vs hurt... we won't know what the weapon does until we use it. Some cause poison like the one used on me, others cause welts to grow all over the body, or they cause any number of other ailments. All we will know going in is that they will cause harm." Annie tells me.
"That make's sense, you guys knew we were short on time, the color code was a great idea. Less likely for one of to be accidentaly poisoned by someone trying to help." I respond. We hide stashes of the healing potions around the square. We want those hurt to be a
Dawn can't be more than an hour away, but it seems that the vampire's either don't care, or they want to wait until the last second.More and more of my warriors are falling to injuries, we have only a few dead, but more than half are injured to the point they can no longer fight. Ansel called in the mothers as back up, and that helped, but I fear it was too little and too late. In this moment I wish more than anything that I knew how to trigger the powers I seem to have, but I have not had the time to figure out how they work yet.The fog is thinning now, I can see through it to the ither side, and what I see there does not help my moral. The entire pack is surrounded, witches, and more rogue wolves seemed to have joined them, they are lined up 3 deep, incircling the whole pack town.My breath catches in my throat, keeping my eyes on the enemy lines I reach out my hand to Ansel. The moment we join hands I know that we are both thinking the sam
I walk ove to Annie, she is talking to her Alpha, and I want to see what the plan is for the day. "Hello Alpha Maxwell, it's good to see you again, thank you for coming to help us. I know our packs have never been allies, so i appreciate that you came." I know that he came to help Annie, not me, but it would be bad form to not thank an Alpha in this situation. "My King, there is no need to thank me. It is entirely my pleasure. And please call me Maxwell." He says with a smile. "Thank you Maxwell, please call me Ansel, king still feels odd to me." I say with a chuckle. "So... what's the plan for the day? The mother's want to know if it is safe to bring out the children, or if we should keep them in the safe house fo now?" "Uncle Maxwell and his warriors are going to take over running the boarder patrol, and they will station guards around the square so we can all get some sleep. After we are all rested up we will make up a shift rotat
I wake up to Ansel gently shaking me awake. I smile up at him and say "Good morning Handsome, what time is it?" "Hey there sleepy girl." He says with a smile. "It is almost 6 o'clock, I already spoke to alpha Maxwell, he is setting up dinner for us now, why don't you get changed and we can meet up with everyone." "Yeah, okay. I just need to go to the bathroom first." I stand up and Ansel hands me a pile of clothes to take with me. I walk into the bathroom, I really need to pee, it has been nearly 24 hours since I used the bathroom, or eat... I flush the toilet and wash my hands, the coolness of the water is refreshing. I splash the cold water on my face, it helps wake me up. Ansel picked out some clothes for me, underwear, and bra are just normal. The pants are my favorite pants, and the shirt... It smells like him, he gave me one of his own shirts. I smile a little as I bring the collar of the shirt up to my nose and take a deep breath. I love th
"Wait, before we vote does anyone have any questions? Or anything that they would like to add to the conversation before we vote..?" Ansel says quickly. "Good point" I concede to him with a nod of my head, then I turn back to the table and add "does anyone have anything to add?" "Well, actually... if we combine packs, what does that mean for the ranks? With the exception of Alpha each pack has someone for each rank, and for that matter for each job. I mean, I know my wheelhouse is not very big, but I am in charge of all the cooking and cleaning staff, will have to fight to keep my job?" Miss. Frankie asks. I turn to Matteo, since the council has the most experience with this, they help merge packs when one Alpha defeates another in a challenge, or when smaller packs join together to become one. "Well, there are options as far as the ranks go, it is usually left up to the alpha to decide which method is used. The 2 wolv
Now that we are all agreed on having the two packs merge we start in on the topic of moving to the Queen's Keep. I have only ever seen the place once, as a pup my pack took us on a field trip to see the keep. No one live's there, but the council sends people to check up on the place a couple times a year. And other packs also send children there on field trips. The castle itself is huge, it could house both our packs 5 times over. That is not even taking into account the surrounding houses and other buildings. It is similar to the set up of the town square here, houses and apartment buildings for the pack members and families that do not want to live in the pack house. Then there are stores, grocery stores, bakery's, butchers, toy stores, all those things a normal town has, werewolves usually like to keep to themselves for the most part, so we usually have what we need in the pack town. The queen's keep is different from a regular pack set u
"That means that me and Ansel will have to separate... Annie in the first group and me in the second, since the pack is taking to different path's to the castle. Also, now that I am thinking about it, the last group of 100 warriors, we shouls split them into 2 groups of 50, they can both leave at the same time, each taking one of the route's to make sure their was no one left behind." I say, trailing off as I get lost in thought. "That is a good point Ansel, agreed." Annie says as she leans down and makes the changes on her list. We work out the details, deciding exactly who will go with each group. The lead warriors know which of their warriors are best suited for each take. The Luna of Annie's pack and my mother, being the former Luna of my pack, it is their jod to know the name, rank, age, and general health of every member of the pack. Alpha Maxwell had made a point of talking to each of the rogue wolves who had joined us during the fighting. He made
I can see the shock on everyone's face's that I called a vote so fast, I didn't give anyone the chance to ask any questions. It does show how much my people already trust me that they are willing to follow what I want so blindly."I know that you all have a lot questions, and we will have plenty of time for that, for right now I will just be giving you a basic overview, and we will answer your questions later." I say, looking to Ansel, knowing that he will want to be the one to tell his people what is happening."I know you are all conserned about keeping your ranks and jobs. Me and Alpha Maxwell are working closely together on this, along with select members of each pack, we are going to be talking to each of you individualy over the next few weeks to work it all out, unfortunatly we do have more pressing matters so although the packs will be merged together in a few minutes time we will be too busy over the next few days to deal with the ranks and jobs."
"Queen Annie, can I have a word with you for a moment?" I turn to see one of the doctors taling to me. "Of course Doctor...?" I don't know his name, do I trail off questioningly. "It's Doctor Fritz." He says "Right, Doctor Fritz, how can I help you?" I ask him "Well, I was looking at the evacuation group list's, and I noticed that you have some of the wounded listed on there as warriors or mothers... And I know that half of them will be healed enough to travel on their own by the time it is time to leave, but some of the more serious wounds and Molly is still in a coma. Moving her will not be easy..." He is trying to be polite, and I can see that, but I can also see that he is mad. "I understand, we didn't take the wounded into account, I should have thought about that, I am sorry... What do you suggest? Ambulence's? I know we have a few, but I doubt we have enough to move all of the wounded in them." I say, asking his opinio
