I wake up in a crowded hospital room, I am awake, but unable to move on my own, or open my eyes. Ansel is there, he walks over to my bedside, taking my hand, my mind and Mal's are at odds. His touch calms her, but it sends me into a fit, shaking and screaming.
Ansel walks away, I feel him move further away. He speaks, but the only word I hear is Micheal's name. I start to calm once I smell Micheal's scent as he hugs me. Soon Ri'elle and Paula's scents are added to the hug, calming me completely. I open my eyes, and look around the room.
I take a deep breath, and tell my friends to back up.
"What happened? How did you guys get me out of there? Who was holding me? How long was I gone?" I ask all these questions rapid fire, dying to know.
"Holding you?" Micheal asks. "You have been in this hospital room for days, you never left the hospital. We all woke up in that office after our meeting, and you were missing, we found you in ano
I leave the hospital, making my way across the square to my father's office. I have spent my first few days as the Alpha in the hospital, the pack knows that I am the alpha now, because they could feel the power shift when I made the challenge. But I have not had a chance to address the change with them. I want to make sure that every member of my pack knows that I am here for them, it is my job to protect them, but more than that it is my job listen when they need me. My father has kept his office very clean and organized, the files are in order, but I have a feeling that he has been letting a lot of things slide... The files have not been updated in nearly a year. There are 5 file cabnets in this room. The first is for pack members files, this is all of their personal inforamtion, contacts and who to call if they are hurt. Also this is where we keep the files for any wolf who requests to join our pack, normally there are at least a few wolves wanting to
We take to the tree's just outside of the town square. Micheal is to my left, Paula to my right. Paula's Amore decided to stay with Ri'elle, so we would be able communicate to Ri'elle through their Amore mind link. We climb as high up the tree's as we dare, trusting the lower branches to hide us. I take out my blow dart gun, and I start shooting wolves with wolvesbane. Micheal and Paula are doing the same, using stealth we dart around the tree's taking out as many enemies as we can from this position. I know there are witches and vampires near by, I can smell them, but I can not see them from here. I am about to head towards the vampires when I notice 3 pups, werewolf children, they look young, maybe 5 or 6 years old. I change directions just as a vampire comes into view near them. By the evil smile that spreads across his face he planes to harm them. Leaping from tree to tree I position myself right over him, and drop down onto his back. I let my canine'
The enemy is all around us, Micheal, Paula, and myself are good fighters, we have been trained our whole lives to fight as a one man army. The warriors in my pack know that help may never come, we need to be able to fight in any conditions, and against any odds.Ansel's pack is not weak, but only the warriors are trained to fight, none of the mothers know how to protect their children. Me, Micheal, and Paula can each hold our own, but our focus at the moment is not our own lives. We must protect the pack, as their queen they refuse to leave me to fight alone, these warriors are loyal to me already, but since they do not know how to fight as well as we do, I feel the need to protect them, just as they feel the need to defend me.Every time I am fighting more than one rogue at a time I end up surrounded by at least three of my own warriors, I know they only want to help me, but it is rather frustrating. Finally I scream out through the mind link, in doing so
I drop down from the tree's to rejoin my men on the ground, "Don't trust your eyes." I order, adding "The fog is too thick, focus on your other sense's" I can hear them moving better than I can smell them, I close my eyes and focus on my hearing. Letting my ears guide me, I use my nose to eliminate noise's as friends when I recognize their scent. I kill one vampire after the other, trying to work my way to the King, I want his head, again. I don't understand how they could have come back to life when we burned his body... he is still wearing a pure white suit. The darker side of me wants to see that suit covered in his own blood. The more... diplomatic side of me wants to see him locked in a cage so we can grill him for information on how he was able to reform and come back to life after being burned like that. The further I travel into the fog the more vampire's attack me at once, I go from fighting two or three at a time to fighting 6 or 7
Hearing Annie talking like we will all be dead by morning is breaking my heart. Luckly most the men did not hear her ordering Micheal to leave the battle field. "Men, today we are to be tested, I know I have been gone a long time, and I don't know any of you nearly as well as I should. But I am here because I love my pack. When I got word tha you were in trouble I came, it took me longer than I would have liked, but I came, because it is my duty to protect you. But today is different, today we fight as equal's. Today there is a threat not only to our queen, but to our very way of life. If we fall, other packs will follow. If we let them leave here with a victory, they will never stop. Today we stand as one, today we fight not only for ourselves but for all werewolves, today your King and Queen lead the charge to victory." I shout to the crowd. My voice rings through the air with a kind of royal finality. The warriors shout and cheer around me, I
We leave the mothers to finish dividing the weapons amongst themselves. When we reach the square I find Annie and Ri'elle opening box after box of vials. "What are these?" I ask. "Oh, hey, good you're back. These blue ones are healing potion for poison, the green ones heal any wounds short of losing a limb, and the red ones are weapons. The only issue with the weapons is that Ri'elle and the witches color coded by help vs hurt... we won't know what the weapon does until we use it. Some cause poison like the one used on me, others cause welts to grow all over the body, or they cause any number of other ailments. All we will know going in is that they will cause harm." Annie tells me. "That make's sense, you guys knew we were short on time, the color code was a great idea. Less likely for one of to be accidentaly poisoned by someone trying to help." I respond. We hide stashes of the healing potions around the square. We want those hurt to be a
Dawn can't be more than an hour away, but it seems that the vampire's either don't care, or they want to wait until the last second.More and more of my warriors are falling to injuries, we have only a few dead, but more than half are injured to the point they can no longer fight. Ansel called in the mothers as back up, and that helped, but I fear it was too little and too late. In this moment I wish more than anything that I knew how to trigger the powers I seem to have, but I have not had the time to figure out how they work yet.The fog is thinning now, I can see through it to the ither side, and what I see there does not help my moral. The entire pack is surrounded, witches, and more rogue wolves seemed to have joined them, they are lined up 3 deep, incircling the whole pack town.My breath catches in my throat, keeping my eyes on the enemy lines I reach out my hand to Ansel. The moment we join hands I know that we are both thinking the sam
I walk ove to Annie, she is talking to her Alpha, and I want to see what the plan is for the day. "Hello Alpha Maxwell, it's good to see you again, thank you for coming to help us. I know our packs have never been allies, so i appreciate that you came." I know that he came to help Annie, not me, but it would be bad form to not thank an Alpha in this situation. "My King, there is no need to thank me. It is entirely my pleasure. And please call me Maxwell." He says with a smile. "Thank you Maxwell, please call me Ansel, king still feels odd to me." I say with a chuckle. "So... what's the plan for the day? The mother's want to know if it is safe to bring out the children, or if we should keep them in the safe house fo now?" "Uncle Maxwell and his warriors are going to take over running the boarder patrol, and they will station guards around the square so we can all get some sleep. After we are all rested up we will make up a shift rotat
