Edna finds strength in her legs as she kicks off the covers and picks up her sweater, it's a bit late and chilly outside.

Augustus' curious eyes follow her as she walks down the stairs. She skips some steps, almost twisting her ankle, but she doesn't mind risking it all just to get there in time.

She didn't expect to see her mum in the living room, her mother freezes as soon as she sees her.

" What are you doing here? You should be asleep. " Her mother tells her, the terror evident in her eyes.

Her mother's silence proves that Malik is outside. She rushes towards the door and her mother dashes to stop her.

She doesn't listen, and before her mother can get a good hold of her, she is gone. She hears loud voices in the dim darkness and she picks out all their voices.
