Chapter 694

The next morning at the hospital.

Alice brought breakfast to visit Joelle. She thought her son would be there, so she brought breakfast for two.

Unexpectedly, she saw Joelle alone when she entered the ward. A hint of surprise could be seen on her fair, well-maintained, and wealthy-looking face. "Joelle, where's Sean?"

"Mrs. Anderson, you're here." Joelle sat up on her bed immediately as she heard the voice. She said in a polite and gentle tone, "Sean went back last night."

"What? I thought I asked him to stay with you."

Alice's expression suddenly changed. Her arched eyebrows showed that she was displeased.

But, Joelle simply smiled. She intentionally defended Sean, "Mrs. Anderson, I asked Sean to go back. He was very tired from work. Moreover, he is in a wheelchair. How could he rest if he stays with me? And, Ms. May came over last night. How can I ask Sean and Ms. May to stay here with me?"

She was gentle and humble as she said that. She displayed signs of being understanding
