“What do you mean that she’s been taken?” I asked, Dex right below the surface.
The captain refused to meet my gaze. “Joanna and Piper witnessed it. They reported that the Luna was talking to someone in the tree line. She did not approach the tree line. She turned to come back to the Alpha House and four men came out of the trees. One hit her and three tackled the Kunisada before she had time to shift. Troi fought and killed two of the men, but the remaining two were able to take the Luna. The Kunisada was badly hurt, and the two men disappeared with the Luna.”
