Thank you so much for all your support. When I see the gems you’ve given me or read the beautiful reviews and comments you’ve written, I don’t know how to describe how I feel. Validated, probably. I’ve wanted to write for a long time. Well, I’ve been writing for a long time—researching and practicing—I just hadn’t shared anything publicly until now. I’m a realist. I look at the facts and try to learn from them. I try to take criticism and praise the same and not get cocky and not get down. They’re both feedback, and feedback is a powerful learning tool. I’m not perfect. No one is. That’s why I intend on continuing to learn and grow forever. My point is, thank you for the encouragement. It’s invaluable, and I really appreciate it. P.S. Steamy scene coming tomorrow. :)
KAI’S POV When I shut the door to the cottage, Thea pushed me against it and kissed me like she couldn’t wait another second to have me. I picked her up, and she wrapped her legs around my hips. I carried her over to the bed. We fought for dominance, rolling around the mattress, trading places, an
“I don’t mean to,” she said. “But you’re right. My default is to hide my feelings. I did it for so long, thinking I couldn’t let you guys see how much I wanted you. The past little while has been a lot. I can’t bear the thought of any of our people dying because of choices I’ve made. I’m relieved ev
“She said there are forces older and stronger than the gods. Life,” Thea thought. “Life is a cosmic force, like gravity, and it interceded with Xavier. It caused a lot of death, pain, and damage. I don’t trust it, and it’s inside me. The goddess said Life has to interact with something in order to a
KAI’S POV Thea and I went back to the bed and cuddled while letting the food we ate digest. “What do you like?” I said, combing my fingers through my mate’s beautiful, soft, chestnut hair. “What do you mean?” Thea said. “What makes you feel good? What do you want me to do to you? What do you li
“Can I show you something?” Thea said. “Sure. What?” “The first time I touched myself thinking about you.” I sat up. Thea laughed. I picked her up and put her on my lap, straddling me. “Okay, maybe I don’t remember the very first time, but I had recurring fantasies about you,” she said. “Tell
She accepted my apology, and we hugged to show there were no hard feelings. She felt my tear-soaked cheek against hers, pulled back, and asked me if I was okay. She tore off her boxing gloves, grabbed my arm, and took me to get fixed up while I hatched schemes in my mind. “You never said anything,”
Friday morning, Alaric and Conri entered the cottage to find Thea sleeping on Kai’s chest. Conri jumped onto the bed like a puppy, waking them up. Thea’s head popped up and took in her surroundings. “I couldn’t wait any longer,” Conri said, smiling because he was so happy to see her. Thea smiled
Xavier suppressed a smile. “Higher power then,” he said. “But whatever you want to call it is fine by me. I’m here to serve.” Thea rolled her eyes, and they both chuckled. “So, you think vampires were supposed to function like angels?” Xavier said. “That’s their higher purpose? I’m stronger than o
