Third person POV
FIVE MONTHS EARLIER
‘Bringgggg’ the sound of a buzzer rang out as the door slid opened.
A middle-aged man with already balding hair that was in a warden’s uniform walked through the door. He had a nonchalant look on his face as he walked past cell doors.
He looked like he had a destination in mind with the way his eyes never strayed to the inmates that were either shouting at him or begging him for one reason or the other. He didn’t even spare them a glance and twisted his mouth in a distasteful manner as if he were being bothered by flies. He walked for a bit till he got to a section of the prison that all the cells were quiet.
He smirked as he glanced at each of the male inmates in those cells that were cowering in fear or were trying their best not to make any sounds.
“These guys are such scaredy cats. Well I understand them seeing as they had the misfortune to be put in a cell that was near….” The middle-aged warden thought to himself as he turned his eyes away from the scared inmates.
He walked towards a cell that was not loud yet was not quiet either and peered inside.
“Can’t you even do this right?” a low but chilly voice laced with the thick Italian accent resounded in the cell.
It was odd to see that someone with such a low voice could bark an order with such firmness.
The middle-aged man eyes landed on the owner of the voice.
A man was sited on a chair with his head bent hiding his face and the chain bounding his hands looked as heavy as one that could be used to tying down a armored tank.
Even with his head bent, his handsome features were still so prominent that one would wonder if he was really a world feared criminal.
The warden himself almost couldn’t control himself as he so badly wanted him to raise his head a bit.
The man had straight, silky and smooth black hair that reached past his neck a bit.
He had a well sculptured back which even still looked well defined in the prison's pink overall. His skin was tanned but all it did was add to his masculinity. He had muscles in all the right places and it could easily be seen as he gradually turned his head to the direction one other inmate was cowering at the corner of the cell. It was rear for him to have a cell partner but the amount of crimes has increased recently and him having a cellmate couldn't be avoided.
As He sat down gallantly, the first thought that came to the warden’s head was KING
He had the aura of a majestic King. AN ITALIAN KING.
The warden shook his head immediately he realized what he had just thought of.
He knew that beneath all this royalty image laid the most sinister, crazy and deadliest person he had ever come across.
He was the most feared inmate in this prison as well as the reason those other inmates would cower in fear.
“Are you so dumb that you can’t achieve such a simple task?” the thick Italian accent came again and this time, it had an eerie tone to it that was able to send shivers down the spine of anyone who listened.
The warden shivered in fear as he moved back two steps. He breathed in a puff of air in a bid to calm himself. Once he had calmed, he remembered what he was here.
“uhhm!” he cleared his throat loud enough to grab the attention of the people in the cell.
“Ciro Russo, you have a visitor!” he said with as much authority in his voice as his flustered self could muster.
There was an eerie silence immediately he talked.
The man finally looked up at the warden with a completely dead look that sent shivers down the warden's spine.
“And who is so unfortunate to want to see this devil” He said licking his lips slowly before standing up and a smirk began to form on his face.
“It is a lawyer. He has come to discuss how you can reduce your sentence.” The warden replied as he moved another step back as Ciro moved closer and the sound of chain on the ground hit his ears.
“Well Well Well……. If the lawyer is here, we surely must entertain him.” He said as his smirk widened into a lopsided grin that made the warden shiver again.
‘Claaaang’ came the sound of the cell door as it was being dragged open by the warden.
He held up a baton to protect himself as Ciro walked out of the cell. He was not willing to take any risks on this dangerous man.
He kept on smirking as henoticed the fear that the man had for him. He liked that they were all afraid of him.
He craved and lived for their fear and trepidation.
“Boo” Ciro said in a loud voice as he stomped his foot on the ground and the shackles of chain hit the ground loudly once he was out of the cell.
The warden jumped a bit in fear but he kept telling himself that he wasn’t scared just to soothe his manly ego.
“You know the way so move!” the man gruffly said in a bid to redeem his pride.
He didn’t dare to touch Ciro though.
You see, it wasn’t that he was a mad ass fighter or a terrorist, that was so wrong. In fact, he had never killed anyone in his life. He had attempted it but he failed.
The issue was that he was too crazy and deadly for anyone to handle. The things he did were way too unpredictable yet extremely smart.
That was the main reason everyone was so scared of him.
He would never kill you, but the things he would do to you would be enough to scar you for life.
“You said that the lawyer was here to see me, right? Do you know why because as far as I know, my trial is definite seeing as the magnitude of my crimes are a bit…. How do I say it? Too much for your tiny minds to comprehend. Also, what is with what you said about him having a way to reduce my sentence? Is he perhaps thinking of killing me and ending whatever suffering he thinks I have? Oh, I would love that.” Ciro said before he started laughing.
At first, it sounded like heavenly bells were ringing but soon it turned maniacal and it sent shivers down the spine of everyone that heard it.
The warden held out his bat as he glanced at him cautiously.
“Don’t worry man, I won’t do anything to you. I am curious on what the lawyer has brought. So, tell me if you know why he is here” he said.
“Well, I am not sure. I just know that he asked for you claiming he has a way to reduce your sentence. I was also shocked seeing as you are a lost cause and all that” the warden blurted out as he cuffed him again despite the chains on his hands and legs and began to lead him towards the meeting area.
He halted once he felt an eerie feeling wash over him. He turned towards him to check if he was the source of that look but all he saw was him smiling back at him.
‘Whatever! Lets just get this over with’ he thought as he hurriedly led him towards the conference room.
Soon Ciro was standing in front of a tapered glass that separated him from the lawyer. This was the safest way that he could speak to him without him trying any things that were uncalled for.
The lawyer was a man in his mid-thirties that looked like he had enjoyed all the things that life could offer seeing as he had a potbelly. He messed up his air in a way that Ciro was sure was supposed to make him look younger.
‘Well man, I am sorry to tell you that your look failed. You look like an old bag of potatoes.’ He thought as He began snickering.
The lawyer raised his brow at him but he kept snickering and giggling.
“Well, what do we have here? A lawyer who wants to get me out of here? Can you tell me why you want to do that? I am enjoying it here.” He said with a crooked grin that was supposed to scare him.
He did not look in the least bit fazed and that made Ciro raise his brow in surprise.
This was one of the few people that didn’t care about what he did.
Well I will have to change that won’t I?
He leaned forward and licked the glass separating them suddenly and the man moved back in fright.
‘There it is! That fear that I adore.’ He thought before he started crying.
Yes. You heard right! He started bawling his eyes out.
“You are scared. I’m so happy” he said while crying.
The lawyer moved back a bit from the wall in panic.
‘What the hell? This man is very crazy” he thought as he watched him cautiously.
He soon started laughing maniacally and that just sent shivers down the spine of the people that were watching.
Once he had settled down, the lawyer began talking.
“So, the state is battling in whether to give you a normal sentence because of your crimes or send you to a psychiatrist ward due to your mental…. You know…” he said as he trailed off.
Ciro raised his brow.
“You mean my mental disorder? Who said I had a mental disorder?” He asked with a toothy grin on his face.
The lawyer gulped.
“Well, due to what you do as well as your last incident, we had concluded that you had a….. mental disorder. So, the state has come up with a new solution to your problem.” He said
Ciro already didn’t like where this was going but he was never one to reveal what hetruly felt so he just egged him on.
“You have to see a psychiatrist.” He finished and he just lost it.
“Hell no.” he exclaimed already standing up to leave as the chains hit the ground heavily.
“Wait, Ciro. They said that if you go and the doctor gives you a pass, you will get a lighter sentence. You just need to attend the sessions in the city center thrice a week and them you are good to go.” He said in a bid to convince him.
Ciro didn’t want to listen to his words but when he heard the word city center, his mind clicked.
“Well, since you are desperately begging me, I will go” he said before he turned and smiled at him with a gleam in his eyes.
He could see the sudden confusion in the lawyers eyes as to how he just suddenly changed his mind but he couldn't care less.
“I will go and get my crazy fixed” he said once more but, in his mind, he was calculating how much of his craziness he would use to take down that damn psychiatrist.
Let the games begin!
Elena's POV“Why exactly do I have to take on this crazy patient? I have no obligation to and I had also told you that I was not interested.” I asserted as I looked dryly at the man that was sitting across from me.“Well I already know that you have no obligation to do so and I am not in the position to force you but listen to me here. The director told me that you have no clients as of now and you would gladly take it on. I could go and confront him now if you want.” He said as he raised his hand in a bid to calm me down.I scoffed and rolled my eyes at him.“Am I to be scared of your threats? I won’t take on a job if I am not interested in it” I barked before turning away.“Please. I’m sorry for the threats but if you would just take a look at this” he replied. He reached for his bag and dug through before he brought out a brown folder.“What’s that?” I asked as I eyed him suspiciously.“Oh thus? This here is just a little compilation of all the things that this person has done. I f
Elena swiftly imputed the password to her apartment door as she felt the pee she was trying so deeply to suppress threaten to explode out of her. Dropping her hand bag and other things she was with on the apartment floor as soon as the door opened and dashed into the nearest restroom close to the door, she heard a faint door close somewhere inside the apartment."You need to stop this habit of holding your pee just because you are coming home." She heard her roommate's voice and she slowly walked out of the restroom and dragged herself to where she had previously dropped her things and proceeded to pick them up before walking to the kitchen to be greeted by her best friend Carolina."You know you could have just stopped at a gas station to use the restroom right." Elena could hear the sarcasm dripping from her voice making her just roll her eyes."I was on my way home so why bother myself?" She walked past Carolina who was dressed in a pink short and a gray sweatshirt with her lon
CIRO'S POV I heard the sound of the chain on the cell gates shaking and I knew for a matter of fact that someone was opening and when I took a deep breath I perceived the familiar cheap perfume of the lawyer and the smell of old clothes from the warden. There really wasn't any harm in staying in prison. I mean it's fun being here but no, it's for my stay in prison to be reduced and I do like the idea of... And I knew you definitely believed what I just said well unfortunately for you that was a wrong move you just made right there... Ha... You believed me again. "Good morning Ciro, it's time for your appointment." "Really? I thought it was in thirty minutes?" I questioned as I flipped my hair out of my face and I saw as he instantly took a deep breath and fear flashed in his eyes making me smile. "... Are you looking for this?" I held his wallet in my hand and wrist watch and he shook in fear. "How is the world did you..." He trailed off when I let out a laugh then I threw it to
ELENA'S POV I wasn't lying when I say that he was bloody handsome, but my smile immediately dropped into a frown as they came closer, and I opened my office door with the keys before walking in, and I could literally feel his stare of me, but I wasn't really shook by it, I was just surprised as too how he was handsome yet a crazy criminal. "Morning gentlemen." I greeted the army's men, and he was behind them. "Elena Verlice, nice to finally meet you. We will let you do your job. We will be outside and be careful. He is really crazy." "I heard that Voldemort." he spoke, and any sane person would know he is an Italian man. His voice was thicker than I imagined, and the accent was clear with his face which was still covering half of his face, but he wasn't looking at me, rather he was looking at the lock that was in his hand. I watched him closely, completely ignoring whatever the army's men were saying, and I saw as he bent a piece of the chain that was wrapped around his hands wit
ELENA'S POVI coughed out as I perceived smoke in my sleep, my eyes flew open, and I saw smoke all over my head. I immediately stood up and ran towards the kitchen only to see the gas turned on and soon enough the fire alarm began to ring.I turned it off and immediately picked the gas cylinder and opened the door before anything could possibly happen, and I looked to my right only to see Carolina talking to one of our neighbors while laughing.I ran back into the fire in the frying pan. It turns out she was making some pancakes, but unfortunately she forgot, and now it's more like burning cakes.I opened the windows as soon as possible and ran back outside with my respiratory mask on, I removed it and Carolina has still not noticed what was going on."Carolina is you don't get your ass right here this fucking second, you are going to regret it!" I screamed at the top of my lungs, and she turned around to look at me and then the house before her eyes widened. She immediately ran towar
ELENA'S POV The moment I got to the hospital I heard glass smashed from the far corner of the room and I noticed how people began to scream, and I furrowed my eyebrows feeling extremely confused. "What's happening?" I asked the receptionist and I could see the clear fear in her eyes and I knew she was going to happen. I walked towards where the commotion was taking place and while pushing through people, for heaven’s sake this was a hospital, why were these people asking like animals? "Leave me the fuck alone!" I heard Ciro yell and my eyes widened. It wasn't even eight yet, and he was here already, what could have possibly made him this angry so early in the morning. I pushed through people and the moment I got to him, I held his hand as soon as I saw it coming towards my face, and he turned around to hit me but stopped his fist midair the moment he noticed it was me. "Take a deep breath." I instructed, but he kept looking at me. "And why would I do that?" He questioned, and
I was too shocked by what even happened, but I didn't back away no, I couldn't or rather I could, but I didn't want to because his mouth is more like sugar. He backed away, and I blinked. Then he let out a crazy laugh, he laughed so hard and just then I realized what he actually did. He wanted to get me distracted and signed himself off my list of patients. "Ciro what the hell did you do?" I immediately stood up from the desk and picked the notepad. "I think you can read it yourself Sugar, so bye" he stood up to leave, but I stood in his front and slammed the notepad on his chest "Understand something Cairo, I am now your cell buddy's, the fucking FBI or the soldiers that are always around you, I'm your doctor, and you will do what I ask you to do now fucking sit down!" I yelled, but he laughed so hard that he sat down on the bare floor. Ok that was it, I didn't want to do this before, but now he left me with no choice, I walked towards my drawer and pulled out a syringe alongsi
CAROLINA'S POVI watched as Elena got into the car and just as I was about to shut the door I heard a scream and my head snapped towards the car, she immediately opened the door but the back door opened as well, someone was inside the car with her.I immediately ran towards her and noticed how she was shivering out of fear and I looked into the back sit only to see the man that almost raped her and my eyes widen. The security guard immediately ran towards us while I called the police. I knew he wasn't meant to be out of jail, he must have escaped and he had the chance to visit the victim who he was unable to do what he wanted to do.I took Elena to the side of the hotel and she slowly began to cry on my shoulders. It was horrible without a doubt for years and she would have constant nightmares about him.He was one of her patients who she loved. I didn't mean like she wanted to have a relationship with him more like a friendly way but all of a sudden he changed a few days before he wa
