OLIVIA immediately held back her hand from the man's hold and attempted to get out of his car, but his reflex was quick, and immediately pressed the button that locked the entire door and windows of the car.
She was scared, but she still faced him bravely and angrily.
"Let me go!"
He grinned. "Uh oh, no. No, my dear. I will not do that. You are going to be used as bait to get my revenge in your clan."
"Revenge? What for? As far as I know, you, your ancestors, you Florencios, are already in arrears with the De Veras! Some of our lands were taken away, and now, one of your family members has the highest position in the local government of this province!"
"We are not robbing you of anything. The elders just fought back for what was theirs from the very first place, and yes, Lope Florencio is STILL the governor of this province today because he is good at leadership, and people trust him. No wonder why he defeated Romero De Vera in the last local election," he said with full pride and a boast in his voice.
Romero De Vera is her great-grandfather, who passed away a year ago due to old age and heart disease.
"That's it! You already got what you want! First, the land that began the fight between the two clans decades ago. You now have it. Second, about politics. The people sided with you, and our clan didn't win the election. So, what's the use of this? What's the use of taking me as bait?!"
He turned to her again, and he smirked. "The sins committed by your family aren't yet been paid that much due to the aggravated damage your clan caused to our family. And I will start charging you with the debt."
Shivers went down her spine. She was silent for a while and could not speak, did not know what to do.
What is he exactly thinking to do to her? And why her?!
She later tried to pull away from him.
"Stop the car, and f*cking let me go!"
But he didn't even move. He didn't really care as long as he could do whatever he was thinking of doing to her.
She did not give up. She started to punch and slap his rock-like arms, but she only ended up hurting herself rather than hurting him.
"Let me go! Let me go away from here, away from you, you moron!"
Finally, he seems to be getting affected because his driving is already grinding, and can no longer straighten his focus on the rough road.
"Stop it, Olivia," he warned with authority without looking at her and still focusing his eyes on the road.
But she did not listen to him and did not stop. "I said stop this freaking car and let me go now!"
Furiously, he suddenly stopped the car without any warning, and she was not wearing a seatbelt because she had removed it earlier when she tried to get off, so she almost bumped her head on the dashboard!
She cried in both great anger and annoyance for this man. "You're such a jerk!"
"No. I am more than that."
She looked at him, and he looked at her, as well, with lust in his eyes. Shivers went down all over her bones!
She got more alarmed when she saw him getting something horrible. Chains!
He carelessly took both of her hands.
Her eyes widened. "What are you doing?!"
"Securing that you can't go anywhere anymore," he answered and began to handcuff her hands.
She tried to fight him and struggled, but with his strength, he was able to lock the handcuffs in her hands.
"You're terrible, you bastard son of a b*tch!" She cried.
It did not make him move and instead, just started his car again.
"You are someone who is mentally retarded, and maybe it runs from your blood! Whatever your entire family shows, you do and practice them, too! Now, I guess I have figured out already that what a root is, is also what the fruit is!" she boldly and recklessly hissed his face.
Honestly speaking, she was excluding herself from the clash of their clans with their rages, especially in their generation now that they almost have their own lives, which she thought fights from the past were already buried in oblivion. The De Veras and the Florencios nowadays were both quiet, and at peace, so she thought everything had been settled already. Even though the latter has already got what they want, the De Vera is no longer asking for another fight. That's why Olivia did not expect something like this to happen, with what Greg is doing to her now!
At what she said, he stopped and stared at her sharply as if slowly stabbing her with his dagger eyes. She also looked at his eyes with hatred, to hell she would show him that she's scared and shaking! She is not going to apologize for generalizing him with his entire family though she doesn't really exactly know about them or even a bit from them!
"Shut your mouth up if you don't want me to shut it the way I want!" he commanded her, using his low but warning tone.
She admits she was scared there, but she chose to maintain her composure and bravely stood by what she had already said.
"Affected much? Because it's true! Your clan is terrible, and so are you! You are the perfect reflection of your blood! Playing not fair at all!"
She didn't want to judge him that immediate because she really doesn't know him from the very first place, but from what he is doing to her now she is forced to say face to face what she thinks about Florencios because of what he is showing to her!
Without a word, he roughly put a handkerchief in her mouth to keep her quiet. Her anger for him grows even more!
Oh, Lord! Please help me and save me from this evil creature!
The drive took a bit longer before they reached a place she did not know. She was only aware that a large gate opened for them, and then he stopped the car in the big garage of a large and tall building.
She looked around the place. She's not even familiar with it. What place is this, and what is this man going to do to her here?!
"We're here. Come on.” He opened the car door on its side.
He turned around to open her side, as well.
"Let's go now," he commanded.
She just looked at him with disgust and did not move. If he thinks he can just do what he wants, he is, totally, mistaken!
"Get out of the car already," he commanded once more, this time using a low but dangerous tone.
Again, she pretended to hear nothing.
"Ouch!" She flinched when hurt by his ruthless move as he ungently pulled her outside the car.
He dragged her inside the building, and all she could do was follow him unwillingly. Though how many times she tries to free herself from him, she can't really do anything because her hands are handcuffed, plus her mouth is shut with a handkerchief, as well. She couldn't struggle and couldn't even shout for help!
"Good evening, boss Greg!" The man was greeted by the guards and armed men when they were entering the building.
Greg remained walking straight and didn't give a damn on the greetings of his men.
Proud and ruthless!
She almost stumbled when they were on the long stair and still did not let her go.
Soon she came up with an idea to escape or, at least, have a little avenge on him. Without any warning, she stomped on his foot with great force so that he lost his hold on her and cried out loudly.
"Oh damn! F*ck!" He touched and tried to ease the foot of him she tried to injure.
She used that opportunity to run finally. She ran down the stairs even though she was not sure she could escape because there were so many guards in any corner of the building, especially in the entrance area, but she must try to save herself from this hell!
It's been several days since the De Veras discovered that Olivia was actually missing. None of them stop worrying and searching in order to see the missing family member. If only they could scour the entire Philippines or world just to find her! They have also begun to make noise throughout society, including on their social media accounts, to encourage everyone to help find their missing family member. Even local press releases took part. THE De Vera cousins were travelling around the city after they had just finished watching a movie and taking their lunch as they got together and bonded. In the middle of their enjoyment, they suddenly missed Olivia, who seemed to be absent for the past few days."I miss Oliv!”“She must, at least, call or text us!" Rebecca smirked, and nothing changed, though she was now married. She still bonds with the De Veras very well, like when they were teenagers.Besides, Raphael, her husband, is currently in Manila for a business venture."I already told you, Rebecca, that she's all right! It came from her directly because she called me a few days ago,” Hayden said as he leaned his head on the headrest of the seat next to the driver's seat."Exactly! You're the only one she contacted, and we weren't!” Rebecca rolled her eyes. “As if we're not that important to her that you’re the only favorite cousin here!" she added, acting childish and petulant."That’s not true. She's just enjoying her li
"Olivia—“"I am begging you, Serena. Please don't go anymore. Don’t leave Greg. Please give his love a change in your heart. I really want to see you two happy with each other. All you have to do is give him and yourself a chance. Serena, please, please don't go back to Luzon.”She sounded desperate persuading Serena, but she didn't care. She needed to convince her to stay by Greg’s side."Olivia, I understand where you're coming from, but you must also understand that I have a fiancé in Luzon waiting for me. I appreciate your good intentions in telling me all of these, but please keep in mind that I already have a fiancé. You must understand that I love my fiancé and would not put our wedding at risk for anything."Olivia’s tears eventually streamed down her cheeks as she realized Serena and Greg could never be together. She’s engaged and in love with her fiancé, and Olivia possesses no power to ever stop it.There is nothing she can do anymore. Serena seems firm and there's nothing
DAYS went by, and Olivia awoke one morning to find Greg's office. She discovered the man's office as she walked around and strolled through the building's various floors. She opened the door gently and carefully, curious to see what was inside. To her surprise, it wasn't even locked! But she was even more taken aback when she saw the two people standing at his table, engrossed in their conversation.Greg and Serena seemed to be a couple talking together about each other. The man sat in his executive chair while the woman sat in the visitor's seat."You're going to leave tonight. Is there anything else I can do to stop you?" Greg asked the woman softly.Olivia could sense the man's loneliness in his tone and couldn't help but sympathize with Greg’s feelings.Serena smiled and shook her head slightly."You know when I make a decision, I rarely take it back."He nodded. "Of course.”She hugged Greg after saying, "Come here."They stayed hugging for a couple of minutes.Serena hugged the
Greg walked near them. “So, you’ve already met each other, Olivia and Serena?” he asked them casually. Serena replied with a nod. “Yes. I just met your girlfriend here. You didn’t tell me you live with her already. And, to be honest, she’s gorgeous!” Olivia felt compelled to flush as a result of the compliment that Serena gave her. It was flattering to be told something lovely by a lovely lady! But she couldn’t forget how she mistook her for Greg’s girlfriend when, in fact, she wasn’t! Serena’s comment elicited a quiet laugh from Greg, who shook his head. “It’s good to know you seem to get along easily.” “Yes, I agree. Olivia, I really feel wonderful to finally meet you!” Serena kept a relaxed and friendly vibe. She even offered Olivia a hand. The latter accepted it right away. Nice, friendly, beautiful… Serena is almost close to what perfection is—Olivia thought. She responded in the same pleasant way. Serena glanced toward Greg before thinkin
"But anyway…” Olivia retorted, biting her lower lip. "There are still other fishes in the sea. If you’re not meant for each other, then perhaps you are meant to be loved by other people. I’m sure there are so many folks around that’s just waiting to be noticed and loved by you." He gazed at her with a more enthused expression on his face. "Including you, right?” And then he chuckled playfully. Her eyes widened, but that was only briefly because she also immediately grinned and nodded. “Yeah, why not? You don’t seem that bad after all.” She avoided his fancy eyes and bit her lower lip as she said those words. She didn’t know why her heart suddenly raced in an abnormal rhythm. “You are one of those people—that loves me and adores me, right?” he continued to tease her slightly. As she looked into his eyes, his gaze became more intense and she could feel that she would melt at the way he was staring at her. Gradually, his sight went down to her lips, tempting her and maki
