"I will post Elvira at the villa and hire a caregiver to take care of your daily needs," he stated.

Caroline sneered and turned to look at him. "How long are you planning to keep me captive?"

"I never intended to keep you captive. If you want to go out, get Elvira to come with you," Scott said.

Caroline scoffed. "To keep watch on me, isn't it? I'm no different from a prisoner to you."

Scott said, "Not really. I'm only concerned for your safety."

"You don't have the right to say that as someone who wants me dead!"

Caroline turned and walked upstairs upon saying that.

As soon as she entered the room, she smelled a familiar scent—it was Evan's unique cedar scent.

Caroline walked into the dressing room, where
