Evan shot Alex a quick look. "Such a nosy guy."

Feeling embarrassed, Alex rubbed his nose. "I need to ask and clarify things since this happened at my place, you know."

Evan turned his attention to Liora, who was nestled in his arms, tears streaking her face. He gently stroked her forehead and recounted the incident to Alex.

"Fuck! Where did this scumbag come from?" Alex exclaimed, anger evident in his voice as he sat down beside Evan. "And why does she call you Daddy?"

"She's confused, mistaking me for someone else. Contact Neil," Evan replied with a hint of regret.

Alex playfully nudged Evan's elbow. "You'd like her to be your daughter, huh? She's so cute, after all."

Unfazed, Alex persisted, "Could she really be your daughter, Evan? If she thought you were her father at first, why still later? We know she's quite smart for her age!"
