Caroline touched Evan's forehead. Feeling the heat, she quickly placed her hands on his face.

Evan slowly opened his eyes. "What are you doing?"

Caroline locked eyes with him and said seriously, "Your body temperature is a little high. Since my hands are cold, I'm trying to help you cool down a bit."

A faint scoff escaped Evan's lips as he lifted his hand to clasp Caroline's icy fingers. "Don't waste your energy."

"It's not a waste of energy!"

Caroline retracted her hand and took off her coat to cover Evan's head.

Evan frowned as he looked at Caroline's thin clothing. He said sternly, "You want to freeze yourself to death?"

"No," Caroline replied. "I just don't want to see you die here."

Evan's dark eyes widened slightly. After staring at Caroline for a moment, he suddenly grabbed her hand again.

Caroline was stunned. Before she could react, she was pulled into Evan's arms.

In the next instant, his slightly cool lips covered hers.
