Brandon then turned and ran back to his room with his tail between his legs.

Caroline looked at Jamie and thanked her.

Jamie raised her fists. "Carol, don't worry. I'll keep an eye on them when you go to work tomorrow."

Caroline didn't feel like talking much. She just nodded and walked over to Liora. When she noticed Liora's puffy, red eyes, she embraced her with a heavy heart.

Freya reassured them, saying, "She's okay. Just some of her hair got pulled out."

Caroline was overcome by heart-wrenching pain, struggling to catch her breath. She stroked Liora's head tenderly and admitted, "Sweetheart, I couldn't protect you."

Liora buried her tearful face in Caroline's arms, clutching her clothes tightly. "Mommy... I don't want to see that mean man anymore. I want him to go away. I hate him."

Liora's sobs wracked her body.

Caroline held back her anger and consoled her, "Hmm, I promise. I'll make them leave in the next couple of days, okay?"

Liora sobbed and nodded silently, ponderi
