chapter 14

Seeing the adults arguing, Harry felt the need to mediate between his parents.

The cute little boy stood between Lucas and Julia.

"Papa, don't force Mama, you have to try harder to soften Mama's heart. She's a sensitive Mama; I often see Mama crying secretly. When I'm there, she immediately becomes cheerful and doesn't show her sadness to me!" Harry said, holding Lucas's hand.

Listening to his son's explanation made Lucas feel even guiltier towards Julia.

Slowly, Lucas looked at Julia, but the girl immediately turned away, refusing to meet Lucas's gaze.

Lucas knelt down slowly, aligning his height with his son.

"Papa promises to make Mama stop crying, Papa will make both of you happy because from now on, we will be together forever," Lucas said, lovingly caressing Harry's head.

"Promise?" Harry asked, confirming Lucas's words.

"Yes, promise!" Lucas replied, nodding quickly.

"Great then!" Harry smiled happily.

"But, can Papa hug you?" Lucas asked cautiously.

"Mm-hmm!" Harry nodded.

Lucas's heart fluttered with joy as he saw his son nodding.

Finally, Lucas was able to hug his son tightly, embracing him.

Lucas was overjoyed to have such a handsome, intelligent, and articulate son, like an adult.

This was all surely the result of Julia's hard work in raising their son single-handedly.

Lucas affectionately kissed the top of Harry's head and hugged him once more.

While Julia didn't want to watch them embrace, she turned her face away to look elsewhere.

Julia made no attempt to pull Harry away from being touched by Lucas; she thought it was pointless to deny that Harry was not Lucas's child.

Lucas would surely investigate the truth about who Harry's father was.

Harry would be hurt if he found out she had lied, and it would make him never trust her again in the future.

After embracing and kissing his son, Lucas released his hug.

Now, he looked at Julia and stood up from his kneeling position, carefully approaching her.

"Julia, I want to talk to you, can we have a moment to talk?" Lucas asked softly and cautiously.

Lucas's question made Julia quickly turn to look at him.

Her eyes stared sharply at Lucas.

"What do you want to talk about?" Julia asked sternly. She was not the same girl she used to be, easily intimidated and oppressed.

She had now become a grown woman, a mother of a son, and was becoming even stronger.

"Just give me a moment!" Lucas said pleadingly; he needed to win over the sensitive Julia.

Edward had investigated everything about Julia, as well as information from her friend Tina.

Although it took a long time to find out more about who Julia really was.

Lucas wanted to get to know Julia better, his feelings for the girl were indescribable.

There was a certain magnet in his heart that wanted to pull her closer to him.

"Let's talk here; I don't want to be away from my child. Perhaps you just want to talk under false pretenses so you can take Harry from me!" Julia said more aggressively.

"No, this is a serious matter. I don't want our son to hear it!" Lucas said with a pleading tone.

"Huh! Our son? Harry is only my son, not yours!" Julia said angrily upon hearing Lucas say 'our son'.

Julia was very angry with Lucas, the image of the man who had touched her body forcefully five years ago made her emotions soar.

Back then, she wanted to kick, punch, and scratch Lucas for forcibly touching her body.

Lucas couldn't take it anymore; he had been wanting to sincerely apologize to Julia all this time and embrace the woman who had held back his desires for five years.

The image of Julia's body beneath him made him unable to touch another woman; he only desired Julia.

Quickly, Lucas's strong hand pulled Julia into his embrace.

"Hey!" Julia exclaimed in surprise as her body was swiftly drawn into Lucas's arms.

"Julia, forgive me!" Lucas hugged Julia tightly, finally fulfilling his longing to embrace Julia after five years.

Julia's body scent was still the same as five years ago, and it made Lucas hold onto Julia even tighter.
