"Ah!"
I grunted as I knelt on the floor after all that running we did. "I think… I might die today." I said with blurry vision, but Ezra pulled me up while laughing. Is this entertaining him? Seeing my disheveled look? While I look at him, he doesn't look like he ran like us many times. Why is it so unfair?
Our manager appeared out of nowhere, giving us all the drinks we needed. "Royce, here you go," Angelica said to Royce while she gave him a drink. The expression on her face tells that she's head over heels, Royce, though I don't think it bothers Royce. More like he doesn't care at all.
"Let's all get to the court and start the warm-up," Ezra said as he let go of my hand and started walking in front of us. I looked at my hand and tilted my head. Why did it feel so weird when he suddenly let go of my hand? I should be feeling weird that he was holding my hand, not the other way around.

My wish for the training camp to end finally arrived, but I went through hell before reaching this relief. "I-I don't think I can still go home." We heard Joaquin say while holding onto his waist as he got on the bus. We're all feeling the same after we went through that hell training? I don't think I would want to come back here again.I thought I should sit beside Mitch again, but Joey grabbed my arm and wanted me to sit beside him. I couldn't reject him; he might think I hate him since we're both overthinkers. "L-Lexi, do you know Lia? The famous model." I flinched after hearing Joey ask me that.I tried to hide my anxiousness with a smile. "Yeah, Lia is indeed famous. Why?"Joey giggled as his grip on his phone tightened. "You see, I really like her." I looked at him more clearly, and I saw how genuine his smile and every word he said was. "T-This might l-look obvious, b-but I was a nerd back in mid
"Huh? What do you mean?"I looked at him with wary eyes, but I just shook my head. "It was nothing. I don't have to think about that because there's this exam that makes me feel like I want to vanish." I said those words as if it was normal for me to talk like that in front of Ezra. When did I start being this comfortable around him that I keep talking more whenever he's around?"Then want me to teach you?"Hearing that was like salvation from hell. "Really? You'll help me?"Ezra laughed all of a sudden, which made my forehead crease. "Uh, why are you laughing?"He wiped the tears coming out of his eyes due to laughter. "It's just— It's rare for you to have that exciting tone in your voice. You would often look at me with sad eyes and as if you're not interested in everything." Ezra said, which made me feel my face heating up."D-Don't get the wro
“Alexis!” Ezra waved his hand and smiled at me as soon as he noticed me arriving. “Mitch and Royce are here too. Isn’t that great?” I gulped as I slowly made my way in their direction. I don’t know if this is genuinely great since I still haven’t apologized to Mitch. Even though I felt awkward in Mitch’s presence, I sat down beside Ezra and tried my best to not catch Mitch’s attention. He must really hate me now. I don’t think I could still fix our friendship, but even if that’s the case, I still need to apologize to him for what I did. “Since we don’t have practice later, shall I fetch you after class? We can go home together.” Ezra said while we ate, but our conversation was quickly interrupted when two more people arrived on the rooftop. “Oh? Lexi!” Joey immediately smiled after seeing me. “So you also eat here, Lexi? Can I join you?” He asked with too much enthusiasm, an
Ezra returned with the snacks, but there was something different with him. "Oh? Captain! You wear glasses?" Arata said in such a loud voice. That's right, Ezra's wearing glasses.Though it's not the first time I saw him wearing one, remember when I was forced to share a room with him, and I caught him studying? That reminds me, he also helped me with my studies back then. Why does it already feel nostalgic?"Where's Mitch?"My forehead creased. "Mitch said he'll get a cold drink," I answered, but Ezra was also confused. Did Mitch get lost inside Ezra's house? But does Ezra's house that big to the point that someone could lose their way in it? Probably.Royce stood up. "I'll call him." He went in the direction where Mitch went. Uh, is it really okay for them to roam around in someone's house?Ezra placed the snacks he brought in the middle of the tabl
"Thank you for helping me," I said to Ezra as soon as we got out of his house. It's already nearing 8 o'clock, and we all need to go home. I couldn't tell Lean or Alina about this, but I guess they might think that I just went to practice.Ezra giggled. "It's no problem. We'll be doing this again until the examination, right?" I nodded to that. Even though I don't want to rely on others, I badly need their help because I suck when it comes to studying."Then, thanks for having us," Royce said as he bowed to Ezra and grabbed Mitch away, but I couldn't let this opportunity slip out of my hands. I grabbed Mitch's arm, stopping him from leaving.Mitch turned to me with a shocked expression on his face. No matter what happens, I will still ask for his forgiveness. I already made up my mind, so don't back out now. "I-I want to talk to you, Mitch."My grip on Mitch's arm tightened du
Mitch's POV I kept humming as Royce, and I walked on the path towards my apartment. This was such a great day, and Lexi apologized to me. He's such a cutie; he even cried. So precious! I want to keep him all to myself. "You seem like you're in a good mood now." I heard Royce say as we walked side by side. I don't understand why he keeps accommodating me until my apartment, though. It's not like I'm a girl that needed some guidance. "Did you two make up?" I nodded with a huge grin. "Of course. Lexi's my only best friend after all, and I'm his only best friend." Royce raised an eyebrow. "Doesn't look like that to me. There's Joey too." My smile widened after hearing Royce mention that. "Joey? Oh, he already knows his place." "Why do I feel like you did something wrong to that poor guy?"
Alexis’s POV Lunch came, Mitch and I went to the roof to have lunch together like usual. Even though Joey wanted to join us, I told him that I'd be talking to Mitch about something important. Although Joey congratulated me for making up with Mitch, he doesn't call me Lexi anymore. Did Mitch tell him anything? I hope not.Mitch and I ate, and we talked about random things, like how we usually did before. "Uhm, can I say something?" I asked, which made Mitch stop taking a bite on his favorite strawberry bread."Hmm? What is it?"I gulped as I stared at my lunch. "I don't know if it's okay for you to listen to this because it might be too heavy."I know; I'm still afraid to be hated by Mitch. But I already made the resolve to face things headfirst like Lia. And Ezra made me realize that I am worthy of living the way I wan
I saw how Mitch averted his gaze while I was speechless after hearing what he said.Mitch's gay? This beautiful and kind Mitch? That means he likes men?"I know. It must be disgusting. That's why I wanted to tell you about Ezra. I want you to—"I raised a hand to make Mitch stop talking. "It's not disgusting." Never have I ever thought that liking men was disgusting. "Why would it be disgusting?"That's right… where did we even get the idea that liking the same sex was disgusting? Who made that? I don't understand. These questions filled my mind more than the equations I've been trying hard to learn.Mitch gulped. "I need to say something." He looked as if he was anxious about something. "Remember that time I said I was bullied back in middle school?" I nodded to that. The things that happened to Mitch before were beyond awful. I still remember us staying in the field whi
