A DEFENSE MECHANISM 

Rebecca was still trying to process how Tyler had managed to get out through the window so fast that even Alex didn't see him leave and so when Alex had asked his question, she didn't hear one bit of it.

“Rebecca!” Alex yelled a bit and that's when she came back to reality.

“Alex, why are you here so late?” Rebecca asked, taking her gaze off the window to take a look at Alex. Her eyes widened on seeing his bare torso. She hadn't notice all these while that he was shirtless and damn he had fine abs but strange thing is that even with Alex exposed abs, she didn't feel that heat. With Tyler gone, she could now feel the normal cold temperature of the room and it remained the same even after seeing Alex's abs.

“The real question is why are you standing there like you've seen a ghost? Did anyone break in?” Alex asked and made to move towards the window but Rebecca immediately pulled herself from the wall she had been resting on and pulled Alex back towards herself.
