Haylee laughed at the words said by Helen. 'Accept it? I had long been trying to accept it that I don't feel like I have a heart anymore...' her inner voice muttered depressingly.
Amidst the silence between the three best friends, Niel suddenly showed up in front of Haylee's table.
"Are you done doing the slideshow for our literature presentation? I want to review it tonight. Miss Stone said that we will be the first presenter. We need to present it on Tuesday next week," Niel said casually to his favourite girl.
"I'd sent it to your email yesterday," Haylee replied to him disdainfully.
They stared at each other for a few seconds and the guy smirked. He had lived with this girl long enough that he could actually read her face if she was angry or in a bad mood.
"Are you jealous that I'm talking with the girls outside? That's nothing. It's just casual talk," Niel said again while giving her a killer smile.
"F*ck off, Niel," Melly cursed at him
Niel called her out multiple times. Haylee got annoyed. She took her phone and her purse then got out of the bedroom. Niel stared at her as she headed to the front door."Where do you think you're going? It's late," he reprimanded her. He quickly stepped in front of her, wasn't letting her leave the house."Move aside," Haylee instructed him.Niel could see her face was red and there was a trace of tears on her cheeks. He felt guilty instantly. He made her cry again."It's not safe to go out right now. Where do you want to go anyway? Just stay here," he replied gently, having lost the guts to be harsh on her."Since you don't want to leave, then I'll leave. I don't want to be inside the same house with you," Haylee responded roughly. In her mind, she was determined to leave the house that night and just stay anywhere as long as she didn't need to see his face. She loathed him so much that night. Her heart was about to burst as it experienced
"I didn't believe you. Give the phone back to Niel. I want to hear him say that by himself," Ally was unconvinced."Very well then. I'll give the phone back to Niel now," Haylee replied simply and handed the phone to Niel.Niel looked at the phone screen and finally know that it was a call from Ally. He was quiet and looked stern, trying to suppress his anger from getting out."Tell her that you cancelled the date and break up with her now," Haylee ordered him boldly.Niel stared at her sharply and slowly put the phone in his ear."I cancelled the date. And let's break up," he said exactly what Haylee wanted him to say. Then he ended the call without waiting for a reply from Ally."Are you satisfied now?" He asked Haylee mockingly.Haylee chuckled and then smirked at him. The school bell had rung as the recess time was over. Yet, instead of staying inside the class, Haylee went out with the intention to escape the school.'Oh,
"What is it, Master?" Ben replied politely."Could you help me track down the GPS location of Haylee's phone?""Miss Johnson? But, isn't she at school right now?" Ben was confused. It was still early and Haylee wasn't supposed to be out of school at that time."She made some trouble again, so I wanted to take her home. But she jumped out of the car and ran away..." Niel explained depressingly, feeling a bit ashamed to tell the incident to Ben."She jumped out of the car?" Ben was stunned. His mind suddenly imagined Haylee doing that. 'What a bold girl,' he mumbled inwardly."Just track down her location and when she's not moving anymore, send that location to me," Niel ordered Ben. The call ended and Niel drove back to his penthouse to rest. He cancelled his meeting again that evening as he didn't have any mood to work right now.About an hour later, Ben called him again. He told Niel that Haylee was currently located at the address of her o
Dr Mason was done with the treatment, so he excused himself and left the penthouse together with Ben. Niel and Haylee were left alone together again.Haylee stayed motionless for a while with Niel standing behind her about four meters away. He didn't know how to approach her. That night, they suddenly became distant. Haylee lay down on the sofa, feeling exhausted and just wanting to sleep."Aren't you going to take a shower first before you sleep?" Niel asked slowly. The girl raised her right arm that had been bandaged, purposely showing it to Niel. 'I guess that's a no,' Niel mumbled inwardly, getting what she meant."Why aren't you sleeping in the bedroom?" Niel asked again but no answer from the girl."Don't you want to at least change your clothes?""I'm going to take a shower. Do you need anything? Do you want a blanket?"Still no answer from her. Niel turned depressed. He looked down to the floor and stared blankly, feeling lost
Haylee went numb after hearing all those things about Niel. She didn't know how to feel. Last night, she was so angry with Niel. But now after hearing this, she had mixed feelings inside her heart."But Martha, Niel made a donation before to our school. The news about that donation was all over the internet. Aren't Niel's parents going to know where his high school is by now?" Haylee suddenly felt concerned."I'm thinking the same way as well actually. I guess his parents had known about his whereabouts by now. I don't understand why Mr Anderson even needed to do the donation. He had been staying low for two years and then suddenly this year, he daringly exposed his wealthiness recklessly. Why would he even do that?" Martha was clueless.'It's because of me. Niel did it because he didn't want Brianna to look down on me,' Haylee mumbled the answer to herself internally."Haylee... remember when Mr Anderson brought you home for the first time?" Martha sudde
When Haylee arrived at the mall, the first place she went was the cinema. She bought a movie ticket and a popcorn box. She snapped a picture of the movie ticket with the popcorn and posted it on her Inst*gram with the caption 'Movie Time' before she went in to watch the movie alone. After the movie was over, Haylee went to a food kiosk and bought her favourite crepe. She snapped a selfie of her trying to bite the crepe and posted it on her Inst*gram again with the caption 'Been wanting to eat this for a long time'.After she was done eating the crepe, she went to the ground floor of the mall. There was an ice skating rink in the middle of the mall. She went in and rented a pair of ice skates. Haylee went to the middle of the rink and made a turn while holding her phone, recording her surrounding. She recorded those people who were playing ice-skating inside the rink. Most of them had partners. She posted that video on her Inst*gram again with the caption 'I wished I ha
"I'm really tired. I want to take a shower and just go to sleep. Do you mind?" She said to him plainly and gestured her hand towards the door, asking him to leave politely.Niel slowly released her body and walked away from the bedroom reluctantly. She closed the door abruptly after that and Niel could hear that she locked it. She always got on his nerves lately, but it was never as painful as he felt today. Today, he truly felt as if she had abandoned him mentally.***The day for the love theme literature presentation finally came. As planned, Niel and Haylee was the first couple to present their novel in front of the class. They picked an old novel with the title 'Captain Corelli’s Mandolin' written by Louis de Bernières. As expected from both the top students of the class, their presentation was amazing and went on pretty smoothly. The class enjoyed it so much. At the end of the presentation, Haylee asked her classmates if they had any qu
During recess that day, Mike went to hang out with Haylee and her friends at the cafeteria. Niel was eating at a different table with his other friends. There were some girls sitting with him too, trying to flirt with him. Yet, Niel had no mood at all to entertain the girls. He stared at Haylee from afar, feeling bitter as she looked so cheerful while having a talk with Mike as if they were close. 'Why are you acting so happy with him? You're not even close with him before,' Niel muttered internally with his lips twitched a little. He remained reserved, trying to maintain his cool, when deep down inside, he was utterly enraged by the fact that Mike was trying to make a move on Haylee. 'Should I transfer Baby Girl to another school?' His mind couldn't stop thinking about her. He didn't want her to fall for another guy. He wanted to be her only man. 'Do you think she won't shine if she goes to another school? The other guys would love her too... Worst, she'll b
