They both stared at Haylee, waiting for her response. But Haylee just stayed silent, having her eyes fixed on her phone only. When she realized the two were expecting her response, she slowly put down her phone and shifted her focus to them.
"Oh, I don't think I'm going," Haylee said simply.
"What? Why?" Helen was devastated to know it.
"Yeah, why? Just come. The three of us could hang out together. We don't need any men to become our plus one," Melly was also disappointed by Haylee's decision.
"Come on, Haylee. Come to the prom. Let's dress up like a princess for once. It's the last day of our school..." Helen persuaded her to change her mind.
Haylee exhaled slowly, feeling a heavy heart to do it. It was not that she didn't want to go. It was just that if she ask Niel to become her plus one, she had a hunch that he would reject her. So it would be much better for her not to come than see him being a couple with some other girls.
