"No. Never mind. Just forget it," she said sullenly. A faint smile formed on her face but it was clear that her eyes were welled up with tears.
"I'm just kidding," Niel said, sensing her vexation over the topic.
"Hmmm..." Haylee just responded with a nod and then just ate without talking again. She had lost interest to have a conversation with him.
