It was 6:00 pm on the dot when Ben and I finally left the office and headed for home.

We left the same way we'd come in: hand in hand. But this time, it didn't feel as forced and uncomfortable as it did in the morning.

I settled in the back seat of Ben's jeep and thought back to the various incidents of that day and how each changed the way I looked at Ben.

The first one was Kelly. Maybe I was wrong about the incident with Kelly, because Kelly turned out to be not-so-good at her job.

And Flynn? Ben probably only yelled at Flynn because he was stressed and frustrated. After all, he did apologize for his outburst later, didn't he?

But Shirley? Hell no. As far as I was concerned, that woman deserved everything Ben and I said to her in the office. You don't just walk into someone's establishment and start making threats and expect to be let off with a pat on the back.

Thank God I was there to put her in her place, because Ben sure wasn't doing a great job of it. Their history together
