“What was that for, Su?” I flared up at her. My ego was rising above its peak. While growing up, Suzie was the only one aside from my parents who knew how to keep me in check.

Most times, my mother complained to her about me, and whenever she talked to me about a certain thing, I listened. We weren't close, but I had the utmost respect for her.
