The Plan

Jax POV

We left as planned and picked up the Delta family on our way to the city. I wanted to stop by Liam's office one last time, but I couldn't. I was too afraid if I saw him again, I wouldn't be able to go through with this.

I knew I needed to, but it was hard to walk away from the only life I ever knew. A life I loved and a pack I vowed to protect. I needed to protect my family now. I told myself I wasn't abandoning them. I left many capable wolves in charge and a warning to avoid their Alpha for a while, which they normally did anyways.

Tomorrow morning, the new leaders of our pack will receive a letter about their temporary duties. It was ultimately Liam's choice, but I knew he wouldn't put any in charge until his heart healed. After I break my link to his pack tonight, he will spiral. He already believed we weren't meant to be together. He always thought I only tolerated him. After this, he will be in a blind rage that I betrayed him.
