AIDEN

I was glad after Selena had agreed to my offer, I knew I had to set things in motion for the event. I needed to gather more people on my side for when the time would come when I would fully take over.

I decided to visit my Mafia's den, it had been a long time since I went there, so long that I couldn't remember. Even when I informed Max of our location for the day, his face had contoured but he obeyed my orders.

The drive was long but we arrived at our location before noon, passing through a big hospital that was a cover-up for the den itself. I got out of the car once Max was able to find a good spot to park the car and told him to follow suit even though I could see the reluctance in his eyes.

I walked confidently through the dimly lit hallways of the den, my footsteps echoing off the walls as Max walked behind me. It had been a year since I had last set foot in this place, and my men were surprised to see me.

As I entered the main room, my men bowed their heads, greeting me r
