The plan was set and the key characters of the play Maleficent would control were finally moving. The shadows swirled upon the closing of the portals she had opened for her vassals for the final instruction approved by Damon the Prideful, her once nemesis turned lover.
A corner of Maleficent’s lips curled up upon remembering the expressions of her friends as they saw Damon the Prideful standing beside her with his right arm attacked to the back of her waist as if he was staking a claim for her in which she did not deem necessary yet he still insisted.
Levi the Envious gawked at them; his eyes were wide as Gukasho’s. If she was not talking about something of grave importance, Maleficent was sure that she would cackle.
Merlin simply gave Maleficent a knowing look before he dismissed the news by listening to her intently and dropping few suggestions for the last modification of the plan.

Sitting on a smaller throne-like chair made of bronze and gems, Maleficent hands rested on the armrests of her seat as scanned the chaos before her. Cheering for the slave warriors the Nether World folks betted on curses and applauds ricocheted inside the opened arena. Copper coins rained from the bottom part of the bleachers. Silver coins surpassed the trajectory of the coppers ones. While the golden shower of luxury fell from the second highest part of the arena, the seats for the aristocracy and nobilities.Bodies which died within seconds after entering the arena were dragged by the slaves owned by the fighting pit’s slaves. The fallen bodies were offered to the covered cages gifted by the demon king for this specially requested festivity. A separate group of slaves collected the coins, making the bearded fat-bellied merchant goblins to gleam with joy for supporting such request from the demon king since this event was not sponsored by the demon lords entirely. But Maleficent saw the fraction of a moment exchange between Gabriel the Faithful and the commandant of the Nether World’s imperial army. Realization dawned upon her, eliciting a deep frown from Maleficent.‘No! They are not reinforcements!’From her reaction in which he immediately saw, he pressed his palm on her back. “What is wrong, little Halfling?” His hand, which was supporting her back, held her waist and spun her for the nth time already since they met at the very center of the arena. He continued when he did not get any answer from her. “Are you hurt?”On cue, a pair of calloused hand pulled her tenderly. With her cheeks between his hands, he was now staring at his flashing ruby eyes – his right hand still holding his blood-soaked sword. He stared down at her as if he was assessing her inch by inch. His left thumb formed circles against her cheekbones.Maleficent started up at him, tears start
A blanket of black and red wrapped the proud commandant of the Nether World’s imperial army of narakas and fallen angels like a scene straight out from gory books. The flutters of the small wings owned by thousands of butterflies drew everyone’s attention. The commandant, who did not pay attention to it at the beginning, started to swing his sword with the attempt to make the horde of butterflies fly away from him, sensing the danger looming along with the slaughter butterflies.“What are those?”“Butterflies?”“In the arena? And that many?”The ghouls started to speculate while the shadow beasts backed away from their targets as their attention was fixated on the butterflies which were flying around the commandant on circles. With their tails tucked between their legs, the shadowed beasts started to back away to the wall. Their whimpers made the surrounding Nether World folks sensed the ominous
Maleficent was too fixated on using her ability as the wielder of the darkness that she stupidly failed to realize the dwindling state of her lover. She was too focused on making sure that her plan would not fail that she completely forgot that the man who was standing firm around her – surrounding her like a safe mantle was dying. And when she felt him stagger against her, all she could do was froze. With him now kneeling in front of her as he heaved a succession of coughs while holding his chest, Maleficent staggered next. Her knees left a soft thud upon the contact on the ground. The stinging pain of her knees as it scraped the uneven and jagged arena’s floor was left to the last of her concerns as she cradled her lover’s head and upper torso after he collapsed right in front of her like a dried leaf blown by a wind. Damon the Prideful finally succumbed to his stab wound even after a long shot of enduring all because of her.“Damon!” Ma
Maleficent, who was smiling with mockery, tilted her head to the side as she observed her estranged mother before her. “What? Why are you hesitating? The lover boy needs you now… mother.”“It is you,” said Aurora. Realization dawned upon her angelic face as if an imaginary fog finally cleared out in her mind. Maleficent shrugged nonchalantly before any traces of her smiling face vanished, replaced by an expression devoid with any emotion but pure malice.Rolling her eyes, Maleficent nudged towards the shrieking Angelo the Faithful. “You have my thanks for saving the man I love. Because of that, I will spare you when I turn this arena into a bloody banquet for my shadow beasts.”Aurora’s jaws clenched before she opened her mouth which was interrupted by another series of wails from the son of Gabriel the Faithful who was surrounded by five gigantic centipedes. “Damn!” Aurora also known by many as Selaph
The clashing of the two winged beings erupted like a roar, muting the thunderclaps from the hovering storm above them. Like a blanket, a cloak of darkness veiled the entire arena followed by a zap of a single light emitting from the guardian angel. The ghouls and the other onlookers could not keep up their line of vision. For them, everything was a speed of light. From the clashing of the two winged beings to the clanking of the weapons, everything was changing in a blink of an eye. With a knot lodged deep between her brows, Aurora also known by many as the guardian angel Selaphiel, followed the ongoing battle with critical eyes. Though she was tasked by Gabriel the Faithful to save his son, she could not will herself to look away from her daughter. Deep within her heart, she knew she acknowledged the forbidden fruit she had with the Grank Duke of the Nether World. For her, the existence of Maleficent the Glutton was a constant reminder for her that she had betrayed
“Indeed. Farewell.” Maleficent whispered. On cue, a roaring sound elicited from behind him before he was taken by the looming shadow of the gigantic winged serpent. After her last two words, the entire arena had turned into one extensive domain for Maleficent. Her emerald eyes glowed more than ever at that exact moment; the song of battle cries echoed from her mouth as she screamed, flipping her position. Now, she was the one sitting atop the shell-shocked Gabriel the Faithful.“Die, angel!” Flipping the version that Gabriel the Faithful said a few moments ago, she raised both of her arms while holding her weapon. Gone were her whips earlier, replaced by a dagger made from her shadows. The blade hissed as she held it as if it got a life of its own.But the gleam of the dagger’s blade under the lightning bolt’s sheen woke Gabriel the Faithful from his reverie, snapping him on the verge of his death. His widened, stormy, gray eyes turned into a sharp glare. “Never!” He backha
A pair of gleaming crimson eyes glowered upon the sight beneath him. Veins protruded around his once smooth forehead as the corners of her lips curved downwards. A knot lodged deep between a pair of bushy brows. Demon King Lucifer the Prideful did not like how the events before him were transpiring. It was entertaining for quite some time, not until Selaphiel decided to turn her blades against her brethren for one measly Halfling, something he could not grasp.‘Hmmm… Angels aren’t that different from humans indeed,’ the demon king of the Nether World thought.Tapping his elongated fingernails against the armrest of his throne-like seat, he uttered under his breath. “How tragic. To think that creatures revered their kind for protection.” He cocked his head to the side, gaze filled with wonder. He continued, “Angels and humans are such a fickle being. I wonder why the Creator love them so much when they can be this pesky and&hel
