“Why are we here?” I asked as Fredric got out of the car and opened my door.

“It’s a surprise,” Lance said as his green eyes danced. Then, he leaned over and gave me a quick peck on the lips. “Come on.”

I laughed, shaking my head, then gave Fredric my hand to help me out of the car. I stood and stretched, looking out over the dam. The lights were already starting to come on, illuminating the dam, and the sun was setting behind it, creating the perfect backdrop as streaks of pink, purple, and red shot across the sky. It was truly breath taking.

Lance was suddenly by my side, carrying a blanket and a picnic basket. Then, he held out his arm to me. “Shall we?”
